Although I do love these long form stories, I really do miss the “places you can’t go but people went anyway” and “stories that sound fake but are real” videos. Those were the types that got me into MrBallen and I would really like to see more of those in the future

The difference between Susan in court and Susan after the arrest genuinely terrified me. She went from looking like a wholesome grandma to uncanny valley humanoid.

I saw a documentary or crime show about this crazy woman. It's one thing seeing her picture, but listening to her talk about her victims and her pigs gave me nightmares for weeks. It's a horrifying thought to know there are psychopaths like "Susan" living among us. I can't imagine how the town folks who may have been in contact with her over the years felt!! I feel so bad for all the victims families. Just horrible!!
"Susan" is not, never has been and never will be a woman. The reality of the matter makes all the difference to this case, otherwise the facts are grossly misrepresented

I actually saw the full interrogation of Susan on another channel, and it was horrifying. I didn't know the backstory, so I appreciate (as always) Mr Ballen filling in the gaps!!
For some reason I read your last line as "...filling in the gasps." (Minor dyslexic moment.) Either way, it's a true sentence.
Was that the interrogation I saw? Where Susan poops her pants? Then cleans it off the seat she was sitting in and continues touching her face, etc and never washes her hands. I know it happens but the way she went about handling it was super weird!

I actually watched a 2 hour video on Susan's interrogation the other day and it is just fascinating to see how that went down. Just a small detail he didn't mention that's in the interrogation was how much Susan mentioned she didn't like humans very much and loved animals way way more and didn't feel too much remorse for shooting Robert and didn't feel the need to say anything to his kids.

I don't like humans either and prefer to spend my time alone with just my animals. If I saw you on fire I would just keep going but I would never even contemplate killing someone. My heart and my conscience would haunt me forever but I am like everyone else I have thought about it. It's when you act on those thoughts and I'm not quite willing to go there!

I love how he takes time to explain what some things are and what they are for. Mr. Ballen is always so descriptive in his stories makes u feel like your there. So amazing
He also does justice to the victims by telling us about who they were and what kind of person they were. We learn as much about the victim as we do about the suspect(s). I think a lot of channels don’t do that and are more focused on glamorizing the suspects.

This is still gruesome but when I first saw the image of the pig and the word farm, I immediately thought of Robert Pickton. I’m Canadian and he’s one of our many serial killers here in Canada. He would kill his victims and then feed them to his pigs on his farm in Port Coquitlam, BC. He was also known as the Pig Farmer Killer or the Butcher.

It is a total outrage that those female prisoners, some of the most vulnerable people in society, are forced to be locked up with any male criminal, least of all one as dangerous as this man. Society has a duty of care to its female prison inmates. It is NOT part of their punishment to be locked up with male murderers and rapists!
Here in the UK as in the US, we have seen convicted male rapists and sex offenders successfully argue to be sent to women's prisons (claiming a 'trans woman' identity and arguing they are 'vulnerable'), where they have proceeded to rape and sexually assault the genuinely vulnerable female prisoners.
Women (and men who care about them), need to wake up and recognise the dangerous folly of today's male-centric, misogynist trans cult propaganda.

No wonder her pigs were so healthy. I guess she couldn't afford to feed them and decided to feed them humans instead. So when all the pigs' food stock was running low she hung up more flyers asking for "more help around the farm". 😲 Great story!

I live in Medford about 15 minutes away from where this happened and was shocked when I heard about this because I had been out to this farm to buy a pig from there a couple months earlier. I didn't end up buying one because at the time I thought they were giving them steroids because of how big the pigs were. I was shocked when I found out why they were so big and relieved that I decided not to

I grew up roughly an hour north of where this farm is located, and I am not surprised that th happened. This area can attract easy prey for someone like Susan to take advantage of. With all the transient population coming in and out of southern Oregon, many of whom are just nomadic adventurers who are looking for a way to make some money to travel to their next, destination, it can be easy for someone to disappear on a farm like Susan's and no one would be the wiser. Imagine if Robert didn't have family who would check in on him from time to time, she might still be luring in traveling laborers to work her farm and then killing and disposing of them once they had served their purpose.
I went thru this experience just a few months ago now I know I was right what keep me alive is JESUS CHRIST I'M STILL SCARED TO EVEN TO TALK ABOUT IT

It's really nice to hear that law enforcement took the family seriously and actually even followed the EBT lead in the beginning. Imagine how many cases could have been solved if LE took this initiative. And good on the family for acting on it and looking for their dad. I read about their experience going to the farm and how sick they felt when they saw his dog and took belt were still there. I can't imagine the pain and suffering of these men and the people she took them from. 💔

The thing that makes Mr Ballen such an intriguing story teller is how his body language, expressions and hand gestures get us to focus and have a better visual. I applaud this man for being able to get me to sit and listen for a good twenty minutes.
I was just about to attempt explaining part of why John is an amazing storyteller. He’s a raconteur and that’s more than just “telling” the story. It’s the ability to entrance his audience and make us “feel” as if we’re living the story, however briefly, while he tells it with words and also so much expression that we feel a part of it. So fun fact! The story is from where I grew up. I've actually met her multiple times at a local food bank. She would go there to pick up the people she killed for their ss and food stamps. We always thought she smelled like death and avoided her whenever we saw her. 😢

Me too!! I believe EWU (Explore with us) had covered the interrogation. I remember her asking the detectives to leave the room while she took her sweater off cause she had to take her beanie off and was really self conscious about her hair loss! And when she did the Polygraph test she was deliberately trying to screw it up by coughing, sighing, wiggling, etc. Such a crazy story!!!

When I found Mr. Ballen it was purely by accident, but it's the best accident I've ever made! I love him and his stories!

Susan's interrogation video is a trip. At a certain point, when she was alone in the room, she stood up and noticed she had shit herself. She looked at the camera mounted in the room and said "this was your fault", she didn't seem too concerned though. She kind of just wiped it off the chair with her bare hand, and sat back down.
Blamed them for not letting her go to the bathroom and then ate food without washing her hands not long after that! When she looked at the video after she wiped the chair off she blamed it on somebody not letting her go...WTAF??? So you just sit there and shit your pants and go in like nothing! Could you imagine the smell of that interrogation room!?!? I was nauseous after that, just thinking about it.

I remember when MrBallen would upload "3, 4, sometimes even 5 times a week". I still love him and understand completely the time and effort it takes to research and record these videos. I just loved the randomness of the uploads. Sometimes you got one on Tuesday and Friday, sometimes it was Monday and Thursday. The surprise was outstanding.

I lived down the road from this property in the little town just outside of Rogue River. I remember as a kid driving past it and seeing the massive black iron bars and stone fence. I was always curious about that property, it always seemed to empty. When I learned of this I was amazed and horrified. Nightmares can be closer to home than you could imagine so stay safe out there.🖤

Did two 6-month deployments on ships that were stationed on the East Coast and the West Coast. Got to see a lot of the world that way during those years! Had a blast! Spent the last couple of years of my enlistment on shore duty taking it easy.

I remember this lady. My dad has some acreage in that area and built his retirement house out there. I remember him telling me after all this happened how he had met this lady and almost went to work for her part time. It was a huge story in Jackson county.

In the interview I saw, she actually said, that when she went out to the pen and discovered him (don't remember which man) he was still alive and moaning while the pigs were eating him, so she went back into her house, got her rifle and shot him to put him out of his misery. A truly horror story.

I had already heard this story on a podcast called Morbid maybe a year or so, but it's still one of the most fascinating true crime stories in my opinion.
I remember the Summer of 2020 I got my first apartment and every night or every other night I would binge watch mrballens videos. He had like 20k subscribers or something. I miss the consistency the 3 or 4 videos a week but there’s only so many stories you can tell and he’s covered just about every story known to man. Mr ballen I want a cabin in the woods or national forest series again for Christmas pls
