Great attention to detail👍🏾 The suite was nice, and thanks for all the tips! I too enjoy the FHR program.

My wife and I went a few years back. Stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. The resort was a great experience, although it may not have given us the best value. I also felt that the property was designed to keep guests from exploring the island.

We usually stay at the Disney Aulani resort....and one night at Hilton Hawaiian village...60,000 hilton points per night got upgraded to ocean view because of my diamond status.

I was literally in Waikiki a few weeks ago! However, I didn't stay in any of the hotels listed in the description (I chose Courtyard by Marriott on Kuhio & Royal Hawaiian Ave). I did see some of the other hotels as I was walking around the city! Hope you had fun! 🤩

🍍 Kahala resort was the best resort we have stayed at in Oahu. Pricey, but if you have an oceanfront room, it's amazing. It's far enough away from waikiki beach that it's pretty secluded and the dining options are nice!

🍍 Fun video. I live in Oahu. For staycations on cash, Surfjack or Twin Fin, points…probably one of the Hilton properties, Hyatt is a pain to book, Marriott is highly variable, sometimes you can get good rates at the Moana Surfrider. Good places to eat include Adela’s (noodles, Filipino, etc), MW (contemporary), Marukame (udon) and Taniokas for poke.

Stayed at the Ritz Waikiki last year. Booked through FHR using Amex points. You can argue that redeeming for 1cpp is bad value, however when we stayed, they were running a $400 property credit when staying 4 nights. Combine that with the included breakfast daily of $60 for an additional $240, I'd say it was a solid redemption. About 60K amex points per night but $640 in total food credit.

Still better than booking directly with Bonvoy points directly, ironically (no breakfast for Platinum status, etc.)

I usually stay at Hilton Grand Vacations Club at the Hilton Hawaiian Village since I have a timeshare. I use my Hilton Surpass from American Express and pay for my yearly maintenance fee and earn tons on Hilton Honors points 😊

🍍I like the kahala hotel and resort. Outside of Waikiki so you don’t have to deal with the crowds and close enough to Waikiki to go for nice dinners. They also have a shuttle to take you to Waikiki, Ala Moana shopping center. They also have the best Ahi poke musubi.

In Oahu I usually stay at the Hyatt Place Waikiki, it's nothing fancy but it's great value for the location. For eats, I recommend KJs Local Grindz, its a local favorite and the thing to get there is the furikake Chicken.

🍍We did the Ko Olina Marriott on a presentation offer. The food in Oahu was really nice like a big expensive city but its a bit too populated for us for a beach vacation. Probably won't come back and stick with the smaller islands or French Polynesia.

Ritz Carlton Waikiki via Amex FHR is the way to go 🍍 just got back from a 7 day stay. Tonkatsu Ginza Bairin is a must eat. Mikiya was great with their unlimited A5. Panda Express / Cherng family are partial investors in the concept. Han No Daidokoro is a must try near the Ward.
