  • In this video I’m gonna show you quick tip on how to shoot a details, macro shots of rings, earrings or any other wedding details with your regular lens. By regular lens, I mean non-macro lens. So lens that doesn’t let you focus when you’re super close to your subject.

I never thought about free lensing for macro shots. Cool idea. Thanks Maciej!

I’d love to see this technique done with actual rings! Pretty cool!

Nice, but what happens with the aperture after removing the lens, does it stay wide open?
It is a free way of getting closer with no costs but unfortunately can't control the dept of field so you have more in focus the closer you get. A macro lens is expensive but some extensive tubes with contacts to let you adjust the aperture is the best option or why not using a completely manual lens.

You might as well just get the tubes it’s much easier and you still get autofocus. It’s not hard to add them and it is less of a hassle then doing this method.

Agree, the effort to put the tubes is easier than adjusting your lens and camera. Also this doesnt work for video. For photo, you got to burst because it'll be too shaky

My favorite toys as a kid were those little race cars with tiny details you had get up close to see. they were called Macromachines. Wait no they were called Micromachines not Macromachines.

@@cheddarfiend-acrylicpourin9570 Should it be called micro because we look at smal things or macro because we make small thing seem large? Btw, ive seen your work, i realy like it. Can you make it move, like in video? Can you share a link that explains how you make these types of pictures? Cheers!!!
