Alicia is one of the most genuine people with the most fascinating and quirky interests and always makes a glum day brighter. Shes a real shining star!
Hi Alicia--that was an awesome top 7 fountain pen video hahaha! I was surprised you didn't add a typewriter in there too (or at least let us see Bean!) Appelboom, thanks for a fun video from a really unique and supportive voice in the fountain pen community!
Alicia, thank you for bringing out the analog soul in every fountain pen user. You have an amazing collection, and it is always a treat to watch your new videos. Take care and best wishes.
Hi Alicia. This feels like some sort of graduation ceremony. If you get summoned from Appleboom to do your top 3 pens it's a sure sign you are officially recognised as a fully qualified fountain pen guru. So congratulations on making it! Nice selection by the way.
Thank you Alicia & Joost for posting this wonderful video. Alicia I loved how you told why you liked each pen; I would find it extremely difficult to limit my choices to three pens. I liked your vintage pens, sadly I am limited to modern pens, but maybe one day. Your enthusiasm for fountain pens is highly contagious.
Thank you, both - Alicia & Joost. I'm rather pleased that (you) Alicia broke the 'covenant' of 'Top Three' - there's more than a hint of sincerity in all of your presentations - & the passion that you express for writing instruments, old & new. This is such an excellent series, Joost - it's measured, considered, & always a delight to watch, whomsoever is featured, Best, Andrew :)
Lovely to see and hear you on this, your new adventure. I have a small vintage Conway Stewart 84 in my pocket at the moment. 14k gold flexi nib, green and black celluloid cracked ice finish. It only takes one turn to remove the cap. It's inked with Seitz Kreuznach Palm green ink which shades almost to black. Perfection.
I found Alicia, and AdvDenali a couple of months prior to Howard. And I look forward everyone of her gracious, humble and informative videos. I feel she is going places, we will see more and more of her. Congratulations Alicia!
As always I really enjoyed this little glimpse in to another enthusiasts nearest and dearest pen collection. Thank you Alicia, ur talk was delightful 😊 And thank you Joost for hosting these lovely videos. I really hope you can help Alicia out with her broken vintage pen! That would be wonderful 🤞🏼
I love her channel! She is always so lively and exciting and shows such love for her pens. And she is also the one who convinced me to dust off an elderly mechanical typewriter that has been languishing in my basement.
Alicia ... you are always a joy to listen to. Your passion is contagious .. whatever your chosen topic, as is your energy, and your smile. But when it also includes fountains pens, it rises to another level. It was a thrill to see that Joost asked you to participate in the series. Well done! It was most enjoyable.
My favorite in this series, so far. I have the Kaweco Brass Sport, thanks to Alicia pointing it out. I’ve tried ef, f and medium nibs. For this pen, the medium works the best for me and I use it everyday. One day, I’m going to get a Pelikan M800, maybe even an M600. Thanks, Alicia.
Hey Alicia! So good to see you doing your top 6 pens. 😂 I knew the Kaweco Brass, Pilot Custom 823 and that Pelikan Red Tortoise would be there right now. Brilliant stuff 👍🏻 I’m a bit disappointed I didn’t get to see your top 2 pets as well in the video 😉 Shout out to Fig & Bean 👍🏻
Great selection for the modern fountain pens, though I've yet to experience a Pelikan fountain pen of any sort. The Pilot 823 M nib I purchased is my absolute favorite pen. It writes so smooth and is a joy to use, it almost makes me speechless. Not quite... My two Al Sport Kaweco(s), are now eyedroppers. I've used them this way for a few months, and I've had no ill affects yet. The 1st (Red color AL), I ran through a barrel of ink, and no corrosion or paint coming off inside the pen. They work great for me, and with silicone grease on the threads, no leaks. It's a little late in my life to be timid about causing corrosion issues with fountain pens. Be bold, you'll not regret eyedropper (ing) the Kaweco AL Sports :-) . I hope you can get your Sheaffer pen fixed. Thanks for review.
It really is difficult to pick three pens, I know as I use my fountain pens for everyday writing and scribbling and to say on any particular day these are my three pens because each one will have a story, but great post by Alicia (Adventure Denali) and by yourselves Appelboom
Well, hello Alicia! I didn't expect to see you on Appleboom Pennen, but I'm glad RUclips volunteered this video. I know the feeling when you start talking about one favorite pen, then another, then another, ... It's hard to stop and ... again, I'm glad you didn't stop. You have so many beautiful pens, typewriters, instruments, AND a gorgeous dog and ferret!!! The broken pens hurt even if they aren't mine. Folks, if you're not familiar with her channel, she is one of the most upbeat, friendly, soft spoken, unique in an exceptionally good way, people I know (via the Internet). I've seen others describer her as "genuine." Amen!! Thank you, Joost, as well. I have come so close to buying a pen from you folks over there in the Netherlands on a couple of occasions, but never managed to pull the trigger! So, hello from the state of Arkansas, USA!
Thank you for watching and sharing your experiences! We are happy to help you with a new writing instrument one day. Note that we now also have a location in Boston MA!
@@AppelboomPennen Joost: Glad to know you have a shop in the USA (I wasn't aware of that) and congrats on expanding! That ought to make ordering/shipping/customs a bit simpler. My yearning (lust?) for new pens is currently sated, but that doesn't usually last long. When it hits me again, I'll be sure to include Appleboom Pennen. Do you guys have anyone in your stores that can check the nibs before shipping? Most nibs don't need much help, but it's so much more pleasant if they're properly tuned right out of the box (akin to Dan Smith's service at the Nibsmith.com). Thanks and have a great day!
Perhaps you could repair your Sheaffer oversize, and your Watermans Lady Patricia by the Japanese Kintsugi method, thereby transforming the damage into something beautiful, and becomes a part of the history of the pen.
Alicia, your collection looks a lot like mine! I think our tastes are almost the same, except that I have another trend and that is toward oversized pens. My hands are large as opposed to yours so I at times want a large pen, e.g. Pelican 1000, Monblanc 149, etc. great videos and great pens. I would love to hear you play your cello. 73 Tom KC3QAC
Smh I know how she feels I don't have any favorite I think I do but I write with all of them. Thank you Alice, Josh appelboom, sbrbrown and so many more sigh.., for feeding my pen habit lmao. I currently have 71 pens 😭
😆 Ive been there! I gifted two thirds+ of my collection unconsciously in the hopes of enabling them to get in to writing for the sake of. Now I’m down to a mere 18 - 20 dependent on if I find them ....and I’m so content....... ‘specially because more are on the way
I was disappointed that Alicia did not mention Appelboom Pens since she was asked to do this for them, although she thanked them in the end, a verbal would have been nice.
While I wouldn't say I have found all fountain pen reviewers on the internet, I have certainly found dozens, many of whom you have had on this channel. With one exception I find myself always asking why do they feel they need a fountain pen given that none of them have handwriting that would justify having one. The one exception is Alicia. Maybe before any of these self styled reviewers post any more reviews that should watch Alicia's handwriting and learn how to write properly to justify having a fountain pen.
Luckily you don’t need to have a beautiful handwriting before you are ‘allowed’ to write with a fountain pen, and is everyone allowed to use one. Enjoy yours!😉
I agree with you entirely JOHN D. Reviewing fountain pens without being able to write properly is rather like reviewing a book without being able to read.
Alicia is one of the most genuine people with the most fascinating and quirky interests and always makes a glum day brighter.
Shes a real shining star!
I realize I am kinda off topic but do anybody know a good site to stream new series online ?
@Jack Justice Flixportal
@Arian Merrick Thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it !!
@Jack Justice no problem xD

"Analogue soul" is precisely what it is, John :D
Gushing over pens does not need to be excused! Thank you for gushing over yours!

The typewriter is amazing Douglas!
Just great! Alicia you are amazing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

....next, Top 3 Typewriters. 😁... Love Alicia. A favorite person & channel 💜🖋 Hi Bean!
I wonder if she has any onion skin typing paper for the typewriter.
I always love hearing from Alicia! Her passion for the great things in life is contagious.

More content like this Appelboom!

I loved Alicia's top 3! I also like Pilot gold nibs and Kaweco Sports, which makes me think I need to give Pelikan a try now. 🤔
I agree!
wonderful pens. lovely interview
This was wonderful, thank you Joost! Alicia is genuine and awesome
Love the stories behind the vintage pens. Once you got into that I didn’t want you to stop. Great show and tell session 👍👍👍

I have no clue why this is in my recommended; I've only ever used a ball-point biro but I watched the whole damn thing.
You have to start at some point...

Pilot 823 is one of those pens you constantly hear all over the place,....i got to try one!!! is it better than the Lamy 2000?
Very nice
Thank you for sharing Alicia and her pens, all 7 of them! :-) I am looking forward to perusing her channel!
Thanks Joost! Thanks Alicia!
So happy to see similarities with my penpinions
I came for the pens video but... her tiny eyes are mesmerizing. Love the video
Great choices!

She loves her pen, genuine passion, respect. .
This woman has something in her posture, in her calm voice, in her face and messy hair, that attracts me deeply.
She is simply amazing!
You and me both --- and I'm not even a lesbian!
Nice handwriting!
Good
Hi Alicia. On your Pilot Custom 823 what size nib do you have?
Hello there! I have a fine nib.
Aww, I can here the sorrow in your voice about your Shaeferr being it your first...... I completely understand.

I love the casual use of "penfluencers"
I want the green M1000 pelikan 💕💕💕
M1000 is so much love
