I ❤ this palette hack an ❤ Perylene violet. I have the Schminke and others. I find it perfect to create shadows. Your mixes gave me lots to think about. The Clairefontaine Aquapad paper is also great. I prefer it to the Canson XL Aquarelle, actually. Great mixes!
Wow, such interesting color mixes! This is giving me lots of ideas - thanks! The nickel titanate yellow + perylene violet looks like it could approximate a jaune brilliant #2 with a bit higher yellow-to-violet ratio. The autumn green + perylene violet is stunning! I would love this kind of idea as a series.
Once again, a super enjoyable video. I love perylene violet as well and I love the mixes you created. The deep colors are nice and moody, while the earth colors, are brighter. Very inspiring. Thank you😘
I rarely use perylene violet so thanks for the ideas on mixes! And yes, that video on how to mix more warm blue variations and good mixes from warm blues will be great 😃
Studio + Kitchen = Studchen, an appropriately German-ish word 😅 The whole video I was thinking, "Please try Aquarius Gray," and you did! I love it! Another fun video, and now I'm off to "Add to Cart" and mix up my own fun. Hope you have a better week!
@@Christine__D great question, I absolutely considered it and brainstormed some ideas when I couldn't sleep last night. Video on that might be incoming 😉
One day I'll get some Daniel Smith... I have a couple of winsor and newton and they're very nice too! Schmincke is definitely worth a try if you're in the mood to pick up a couple of new colours.
Getting 2 “violets” this week..cobalt violet M Graham PV14 and Cobalt Violet Hue Schminke PV62!! I mulled my first (and probably last 😂) paint a few weeks ago, PB33..toxic but extremely vibrant & beautiful! My best friend is coming over tomorrow to steal some..😂. But also, we’re making our “ideal palettes”-basically 3 smaller tins, 2 will be stand-alone, with 15 1/2 pans in each..just different warms/colds and a few convenience colors. One will be geared mainly towards florals, the other, landscapes and critters. The 3rd palette will be our “special” palette.. a combination of some single pigment handmade paints (including our extra pan on PO49..I have a full pan in my 1st primary palette, PO48 and my Manganese) as well as our favorite Primateks. BUT, my/OUR favorite “chore” on the list tomorrow? Liz got a large 30x40inch sheet of “great” paper (it will be a surprise which kind) and we’re going to make a large mixing chart with our paint’s we chose! I wanted to wait until our new tubes come this week…nope! Liz said if we keep waiting for more tubes in my “pigment hoarder” collection, we’ll run out of both paint & paper. 😂 🤷🏼♀️😁
You're living the dream, Elaine! I'd love to try making my own paints one day! I'm hoping maybe one day I can try the da Vinci manganese blue mix so I can get a feeling for PB33 myself 😊
Perhaps in future mixing videos you could put a dab of the pure color being mixed with the central color and add the mixing color names for future referencing. Thanks
perylene violet is one of my favourites too! that autumn green mixture creates such a gorgeous colour mix
It really does - such a nice surprise!

Oh! I meant to ask if you have made a summer palette like you did for spring?

It's a really lovely mixing colour!
I’m loving your content. I mostly use Winsor and Newton and Daniel Smith, but the Schminke Colours look really interesting. 😊

Yes I thought of this afterwards... If it helps I compromised by including a list of the mixing colours in the description!
