On the conversion van- This was 70’s and 80’s ultimate luxury. Real wood, curtains and blinds, tv’s and audio systems and lights everywhere… my dad had a 1978 GMC Gypsy conversion van with 4x4. Chrome wagon wheels, custom pinstriping, lush carpet, slow and luxurious.
I agree that the Escort is rare nowadays as they were essentially a "throwaway" vehicle and plagued with problems throughout its first generation from 81-90. However, they sold quite well during its first generation based on yearly sales of 300-400 K. I learned to drive on an 81 Lynx wagon and it always ran like crap from the time my parents bought it new. I never seem them on the road anymore. The last time I was in the late 90s.
Years ago I owned a 1983 GMC conversion van. In the end the rust got it. Driving in Michigan in the winter covers vehicles with slush/salt. I now use a yearly rust proofing and it works great. I bought the GM van in the early 1990's with about 125,000 miles. I donated it in 2003 for the tax write off due to the rust. It was as good a vehicle as I have ever owned (over 50 years of owning an auto). It had over 280,000 miles on it. It NEVER left me at the side of the road. Not ONE time. I NEVER got stuck in the snow and there were times it even pushed snow that was 2 to 3 feet in height for hundreds of feet. I NEVER had the engine opened up. NEVER! I rebuilt the transmission once due to pulling a trailer and not dropping it from overdrive. I got 18 miles per gallon highway and about 15 mpg around town. SUPER dependable and a pleasure to drive.
You should definitely buy the van. It brings back memories of the ‘94 3/4 ton high top GMC Vandura my dad had when I was a kid. I loved that thing until we rolled it on a dirt road in the mountains
Maaaaan, get that van! When I was a kid, I took a trip to from Virginia to West Texas in a 1993 Chevy Hightop conversion van. I remember that was one of the sweetest vans I've ever rode in
Looks like at least a week with the ozone machine before you could start working on the Mustang. I refinished furniture for over 50 years and in that time I restored the wood in 6 Rolls Royce's and many sports car dash boards. The vans interior wood is a challenge but doable. Great video as always. Thank you.
When i watched this earlier on I was screaming I would have it as i love the Chevy G20 Conversion Van . Buy it , buy it ,buy it , buy it . Please buy it If i lived in Usa then i would buy it as it’s awesome & I love it
Definitely need to get the conversion van. Too many are at the salvage yards nowadays and this one seems to be headed that direction unless you become the savior. I also love the S10, but boy it's been a yard ornament for years! The Mustang is cool, but I can only imagine the smell. I remember how bad that red Impala smelled like, but I can't imagine anything being worse than that!
my Dad was a conversion van fanatic..we owned several in the 1980s/90s..then he went to the mini van (astro/safari) & then got out of vans altogether..would love to have one again
The Land Design custom van either has a 305 (cheap chassis) or a 350 (better chassis) I sold custom vans for about 8 years. They are a great way to hit the road! gas mileage wasn't bad on them.
That van looks like a 1980's church inside. Amazing! People here use these vans for additional storage. They park them in their drive and fill them with junk. I feel sorry for whomever has to deal with them eventually.
Hey Randy. We had the same vehicle, but Our conversion was done by Winnebago. She was in mint condition. Garage kept its entire life. We really loved and enjoyed her. We got really good trade in value on here in 2010. She only has 89,000 on her. The salesman told us he sold her the day after we traded her in. She was a joy to own
If I was in the States I'd be all over that van. What a great find. Imagine the fun you would have either just cruising around or a road trip. An you can sleep where ever.
Remembers when my grandfather had an early 80's Mercury Wagon, just different badges from the Escort. I was real young when he had some backfiring issues with it. He'd be on the accelerator for long periods of time & you could here the shots a couple blocks away.
I love that van my Poppaw used to have one window camping in it. We went to Walt Disney World in Florida and camped in the parking lot and that van well one just like it but his black man that brings up some memories.
Randy, I had a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. And it was one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. Drove it all the way up to 232,000 miles and then ran into common basic maintenance issues that I just couldn’t afford at the time and I got rid of it. But the motor and trans were amazing !! Even with that many miles cause it may have been an SUV but I even took it to Thunder Valley just to see it’s 1/4 mile..
I had a 88 Ford escort wagon. Kind of a fun car with the 5 speed but nothing but problems with that 1.9 liter motor . I always like the GT from that generation
I had same year c20 ,driving it your legs were little cramp up. When behind tractor trailer it would blow your van around. Yup wasn't good on gas about 15 mile a gallon. Sold to guy in Pennsylvania he redone roof top clear coat. I had 55 k on it in 2013. He still owns it. Now pushing 185 k on it. Well taking care of. With the 2nd owner. We stay up to date on Facebook
lots of people have no idea of an SHO.. it was rare to see it on the street because it was not successful. but that SHO was great spect.. Escort when i lived in England their were plenty of them and man people still buy them and restore them
The Jag is blown, there is a Y connector that sit near the throttle body that is pron to breaking because its plastic, it feed coolant through the intake, and when it breaks the coolant goes straight into the cylinders.
Randy, could you please bring that 1984 Chevrolet G20 Conversion van back to its rightful home? It's pleading for someone, like yourself, to rescue it from being crushed. Let's revive its spirit and give it a new lease on life. By the way, I'm aware that an older GM 1980s van hasn't been featured on the channel before. This could make for compelling video content-whether it runs or not, the journey itself holds its own intrigue.
That van reminds me of when I was in Girl Scouts one of the moms had a van similar to this. I don’t think it was this exact one but that was back when I was like 8 or 9 years old and I am 33 almost 34 years old
please stop saying you’re not gonna waste our time, the van, the escort hell even that 97-01 camry next to that mustang you were showing those are the cars some of us watch for!! We’d love to see you do a timing belt and water pump or whatever (camry non interference engines) and get them running again!
Appreciate the walk-around Randy 🎬🙆👍. Guessing the owner was trying to make a gasser for the strip out of their Challenger 😮 lol ( old school) .IDK about the damage. The escort & conversion van blows my mind. Too Cool Salute Randy 🎬🚘🙆🫡
My dad had this same van in 95 only the GMC but same year if u get the mustang i would take it to the auto spa and have them deal with it good video as always
DUDE! Buy the Chevy Van!!! Let it represent the part of your name REBUILDS!!! In the 80’s I worked for a Top 40 station, Kiss Fm, and that’s the year and model of our prize van!
It's a nice enough van. The commute to work on the mountain pass in the winter might not be fun. I'm looking for something I can sleep in that is good in snow.
Those mustangs from 05-09 didn’t have a trunk release button. Only 2 ways to open it are using the key in the trunk lid. Or using the key fob to open it
Those Chevy sonics are actually durable cars, saw one in a demolition derby against 15 or so cars, was one of the last 2 cars still going, against a Corolla.
Buy the Mustang randy needs the interior out cleaned thoroughly and seats man by the look of it and most probably a full service good looking car man if it goes cheap keep your eye out for that buddy!. 👌👌👌👍👍👍
A crate 350 and 700R4 trans and its rolling strong I love the van. A bag of wacky weed will get you a hippy paint job, complete with murals. Some Crager rims and Goodyear Silent Armour tires.
I love them vans man i grew up with family they had one and we ues to go on road trips and the back seat it turn into a bed man that wa back when i was like 7 or so now im 39 and i want one
That c10 is ripe for a parts vehicle. Straight body panels, seats are in good shape, the wheels. Those would sell in a hot minute. This one I figure is done strip it and crush it. Could get another couple c10 back on the road. On further consideration the tires in the back and the change has to be considered
I've always loved conversion vans, despite being born in the late 2000s, long after they lost their popularity. I think you should buy that one.
I would love to see that conversion van on the channel. At least see if you can get it to run. They don't make them like that anymore.
unfortunately they barely make them at all anymore...
Yeah we NEED TO SEE THIS these go for money but finding these are impossible

Would love to see you bring the Chevy Van back to life.
You should buy the van

The van is the kind of videos we want

Dam that van looks so comfortable
Dude please get the van!!! What a throwback. They’re coming back in style!
You definitely should buy that van it needs to be saved!!!
I built those vans back in the 80s for an Indy Chevrolet dealer. There is a big van following here in CA. Mustang is cool!

Man oh man remember when the 84 was new?!
Spent a lot of years in my dad's chevy custom van (back in the mid 80's)
Paint the van black and stripe it like B.A.’s van on The A-Team!! Too cool 😎✌️

Those old conversion vans ride like a cloud, love them.
That 84 I would drive the hell out of that Van. I had an 87C20 work van and I liked it and they're so easy to work on.
That van looks like a 1980's church inside. Amazing! People here use these vans for additional storage. They park them in their drive and fill them with junk. I feel sorry for whomever has to deal with them eventually.

The interior on that van is friggin' sweet.
If I was in the States I'd be all over that van. What a great find. Imagine the fun you would have either just cruising around or a road trip. An you can sleep where ever.

Bringing that van and making it street worthy is content 🤙
a cousin had one called the Beauville Chevy Van was nice for all the kids that rode to church every Sunday in it.
Randy, I had a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. And it was one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. I don't know how everyone else feels, but I'm loving the 2 a days 💪🤘
Those PTs are pretty good when taken care of
I had a 88 Ford escort wagon. Kind of a fun car with the 5 speed but nothing but problems with that 1.9 liter motor . I always like the GT from that generation
The sound of this mustang compensates for its smell.
I had same year c20 ,driving it your legs were little cramp up. When behind tractor trailer it would blow your van around. Yup wasn't good on gas about 15 mile a gallon. With those curtains and blinds that's Van Life after a general clean up!
The Jag is blown, there is a Y connector that sit near the throttle body that is pron to breaking because its plastic, it feed coolant through the intake, and when it breaks the coolant goes straight into the cylinders.
I think Mike needs such a car! That would be fun content
I remember riding in the van in the 80 and the made it in to beds and let us kids sleep from vages to ut it was so much fun

There's a guy near me who drives a white Gen 2 Taurus SHO in near perfect condition. Talk about rare.
Definitely get the van bring it back to life
We used to buy those g20s for $400 to tour around the country for months in bands in the early 2000s...market has definitely changed.
That van is clean on the inside 👍🏾

Probably being biased but I would really like to see the Mustang come to the channel. The trunk release in on the fob.

The Mustang is GORGEOUS 😍 got to get it 😄
The van and mustang would definitely be cool to see
