I don’t think Soyeon’s part was supposed to be a RAP rap, it was more a homage to pop-punk so she didn’t break the genre and just went the Avril Lavigne sort of way. ‘What the hell’ is also an Avril reference.

This is probably her most boldest rap ever, period, and adds a lot more meaning to Tomboy and what it means for girls, especially when you read the lyrics. And the fact that she rapped in English INSTEAD of Korean is so scandalous when knowing the whole context. Don't underestimate Soyeon's songwriting capabilities just because it's not a long rap with a lot of words and it's in English guys, she never does anything halfway and I get so offended on her behalf when I see fans commenting how she shouldn't be let in the production room for the "cringe" lyrics :/

"Swear without cigarettes" is a reference to Soojin, a former member of the group, part of the bullying accusations she suffered was saying that she smoked and cursed over the phone.I know, it sounds silly, but it was a huge mess that ended up with her leaving the group, the verse starts with "I like dance" Soojin was the main dancer, so I have no doubts
Spot on. I knew at least parts of the message(s) of the song if not the whole are about Soojin. You are right about this. So sad Soojin left because of that. In a conservative society and the behavior of most Knetizens towards Kpop idols, Soojin just couldn't escape from being crucified. Not saying what she did was right, however, everyone does make mistakes when young. So does Soojin deserve a second chance for her wrong doing in the past? You be the judge and in fact Knetizens did crucify her.
As much as I love Soyeon, I think this is one of her weaker rap verses. Seeing Knox do a video to this song though, makes me want to see a video for one of Soyeon's solo songs, "Is This Bad B**** Number"

For a rap fan, a must listen for Soyeon is her solo track 'Is This Bad B****** Number?' (ft. BIBI & Young JI), plus (G)I-dle track 'Oh My God' (I think you already did a reaction to 'Lion' which I'd also recommend). All three for different reasons are some of Soyeon's best work. The mix and atmosphere of the latter I think will also really appeal to you production wise. There's a lot to sink your teeth into in both.
These girls are proving to us how talented they are each time. And like how Soyeon went away from her usual style in rap to pay homage to the punk rock genre. You should definitely view some more (G)I-dle songs. Like "HWAA", "Senorita", "Oh My God", "LATATA", "Last Dance", and "HANN". Those are some of my favorites that you haven't reacted to yet anyway. Also, you MUST react to more Dreamcatcher. They are probably my favorite group, there isn't one song of theirs that I dislike. I'll list out the ones I think you should do videos on though. "BEcause", "Scream", "BOCA", "Wind Blows", "Eclipse", "Break The Wall", and of course "Deja Vu". And out of love for my dear, poorly marketed/promoted RIP group; CLC. They had some really good songs, but just never got the attention they deserved (imo). Songs of theirs I recommend are "ME", "Devil", "Helicopter", "Black Dress", "Hobgoblin", "Like It", and "No". As for off the K-train lol. You should do a reaction video for the Japanese artist, LiSA. Especially her songs for Demon Slayer. Just loads of Japanese singers and bands in general. They are one of the most artistic groups that I've ever seen. Soyeon is so amazingly talented. My favorite performance from them is Put It Straight (Nightmare ver.) which they performed in Queendom.
Despite my appreciation that she is experimenting on english rap, I mean she already has good english rap bars in K/DA "Pop Stars", "More", and "The Baddest". As well as her solo album like in "Is this bad b*tch number?" and even in the new (G)i-dle album. I would still agree that this is her weakest rap, and my least favorite. Im also really surprised tho that Nox was able to catch on a few of Soyeon's reference because personally, this song is more of a criticism towards society's expectations towards women. Good catch!!
I love the song overall, the "Its neither man nor woman" part is stuck in my head already but yeah Soyeon can do a lot better. Her English is not fluent and her flow is so strong in Korean that when she raps in English like here it feels off, (eventhough 90% of kpop raps are exactly like this, don't @ me) but like I said not that big of a deal, I know what she's capable of, just hope she takes help from a fluent English speaker while writing lyrics in English.

I dont understand why ppl saying this song has weak rap part. It's the whole mood of the song. U gotta put what will work for the song, how u deliver every lines. I think it rhymes really well. The whole vibe of the song, it matches so well. 💀 i mean, not every song need fast azz rap like shinkansen. Also another thing that's important is, how the melody of the raps too. Go try rap the way she did it with the same attitude. Most will sound flat af or out of tempo/melody (well, not everyone has perfect sense of music too so understandable).

Yep, not a pure rap but more half sing/rap. Also IMO rapping in English is not her strongest but still very good. Cut her some slack.

Wow, I mean you know Soyeon and Miyeon because of their involvement with KDA, but I'm surprised you haven't reacted to (G)I-DLE until now :D You have good taste~ Soyeon's rap was awesome, but I can understand why people think it may be a bit weaker. For me, I still loved it, and she's actually saying stuff about the people who bullied Soojin over the internet because of the allegations against her.

I dont understand why ppl saying this song has weak rap part. It's the whole mood of the song. U gotta put what will work for the song, how u deliver every lines. I think it rhymes really well. The whole vibe of the song, it matches so well.
💀 i mean, not every song need fast azz rap like shinkansen. Also another thing that's important is, how the melody of the raps too. Go try rap the way she did it with the same attitude. Most will sound flat af or out of tempo/melody (well, not everyone has perfect sense of music too so understandable).
