Recorded ~ September 13 1972 ~ Bradley's Barn, Bender's Ferry Road, Mount Juliet, TN - Ernest Tubb (Jack Mollette, Pete Wade, Buddy Charleton, Joe Pruneda, Harold Bradley, Billy Pfender, Hargus Robbins. Producer: Owen Bradley)
This was on a jukebox in a place in Luling Texas. I pulled off I-10 about 40 miles East of San Antonio for lunch. In the half hour or so I was there, the mostly truck drivers eating played this on the jukebox six times. Written by Terry Fell, his original version from the 50’s was a nickel in the jukebox. A lot of people recorded it later with a quarter in the jukebox. E.T. Just uses “money”. You could stay aware of the consumer price index just by listening to this song. Usual good job by E.T.. Thanks for session info.
