Prewiring EXPLAINED for Wiring Newbies | Ram Promaster Cargo Van Conversion

For the prewiring, you will need to wire based on your van layout.
MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN PREWIRING:
- For your AC wiring, know what your inverter can handle. Mine is the 1000W Renogy inverter and can only hook up via 2 normal 120V plugs. If you use an extension cord, keep one side of plugs while cutting off the other side to wire to the outlets.
- Know your DC loads. Mine were: Fridge, puck lights, vent fan, heater, toilet. 12 awg for all but the puck lights.
- Puck lights used 14 awg to connect back to dimmer switches
- Put conduit on before moving the wires through the hard-to-reach places
Since puck light connections can be tricky, I will have a separate puck light video explaining connections to each other and to the dimmer switches.

Excellent video! Not much on YT about wiring that makes sense. I think its mostly in the editing, though. Your orator skills are great. The extension cord hack is a good one. Also liked your honest takes on your mistakes. That is a tremendous help for us new folks. Keep up the good work!!

You could run more 120v wire/outlets and plug them (all of them) into a surge protector. But know you can only use 2 outlets at a time. That is what I am doing with my Bluettie AC300.
Hey I really loved your video. It really helped me out for my build! I was wondering what wires did you use to connect and power the fuse block from it and the battery. Did you use 4 or 2 gauge?
I'm so glad!! We actually have bus bars that we ran things to between the battery and the fuse block. We used 2 gauge from the battery to the power block which then goes to the bus bar (+), but we also have a DC DC charger between it as well. We have 2 AWG going from battery to DCDC charger (-), and then it drops to 4 AWG from the bus bars to the fuse block
