@12Wid3N12 - You don't have to be a so uptight about it. CO has some sick places with incredible terrain. Silverton is an expert only "ski resort" where you are required to have backcountry gear (beacon, snow, shovel). It isn't like a pass where you're at your own risk and it isn't like Vail etc. There are guided/helicopter and unguided packages. Check it out.

Part of that is the fact that it looks like he kept his board set up like he does normally (bindings set even from the middle). You can see he really has to lean back the whole time just to keep his tip from digging in. He's a snowboarder who's much better in the air rather then on the snow.

Overrated, yes. Bad snowboarder, no. He is nowhere near as stylish and progressive as other riders in the world. Davis, IPOD, Kotsenburg, and Halldor are all better riders than him. He embodies a style of snowboarding that doesnt properly represent the culture of the sport. You always know what hes going to do when he drops in, thats why competition riding isnt fun.
@TheEmarbe Name one, Im to lazy to look it up. Silverton is the only mountain I know of that has only 1 lift, no trails, and requires a beacon to ride. Yes obvioulsy other mountains have side country gates and/or BC style terrain/bowls but the majority of these mountains are still groomed trails

Dude if you're a professional snowboarder you'll be able to ride in any snow. You're not going to turn into a total dork cause it's powder and you're a freestyle specialist, especially on a snowboard. Way easier to snowboard in pow than ski.
I'm not much of a boarder but I have pow ski's and I often ski with snowboarders who can board rings around me normally who struggle in non-grommed runs and I go down 50mph type dealo.

i've been skiing for 14 years now, and ive tried snowboard like 5 times, just learned how to turn, and little jumping, and it's sooo much fun!
