I'm a 64 year old progressive independent. I just got my mail-in ballot on Friday and I'm mailing it in today. Democratic straight down the line. I actually switched my political affiliation to Democrats so I could get a ballot.

Biden is not supporting the authoritarian in Israel. He is a wise, experienced, nuanced President who is not trying for a short term ceasefire - he is working for a permanent peace with a Palestinian state. People who can't understand that are wanting a fast resolution. Biden can't fix another country's politics but he can use the leverage he has to change their behavior. That is what a good leader does. ❤
But a short cease fire can lead to a permanent solution. You should go for what you can get at the moment, and try to get more later, a permanent peace is not possible as long as Netanyahu is in power. Netanyahu does not want peace, he wants the status quo to stay, because it serves him personally.

@@tabularasa0606 A short ceasefire usually doesn't lead to a permanent solution. One would think it would, but if you look at the history of the use of short cease-fires you see that instead, it leads to prolongation of wars. Netanyahu doesn't want a permanent peace for many reason. He wants Palestine gone (because he sees it as a source of danger. He sees it as Hamas who, along with many Islamic areas such as Iran, wants to have Israel gone.) But, like Trump, he wants to stay in power so that he doesn't end up in jail.
If you dig deeper into how Biden has been handling the situation, although it appears on the surface that he is "all in" with Netanyahu, but rather he is doing things behind the scenes to "slow walk" what Netanyahu wants. He has also been conditioning aid (which the Democratic Party is behind, although it seems like they are pushing Biden whereas they are actually trying to show Netanyahu that Biden has their support.)
Watch Pod Save America and whenever this guy speaks he always brings wisdom and objectivity.

Expecting any politician, ANY politician, to give each of us exactly what we want or believe in is a fairytale. We have to chose from these candidates on the ballot. I feel Biden is steering us back on track after the Trump debacle. I’m voting for Joe Biden.

Of course it is. Prices don't just go up. Companies set them. They set the price at the absolute maximum they can without killing demand. They can't raise prices if the market conditions allow for competitors to undercut them with a similar product at a better price.

Usually a country is very concerned to do everything possibe to make sure the populace is well-educated, recognising the importance of education - hence public schools for those who can't afford private.
