I’m currently falling in love with myself for the first time in 30 years. It took two toxic relationships (and two unbelievable heartbreaks) to realize I’m not empty, I’m not alone, I’d just never given my own self the effort, love, and time I so desperately try to give others. I get drained easily and I feel the need to isolate. But when I met my boyfriend, I didn't feel those things. I think that's what made me put my guard down and give him a chance. For me after almost 9 years together. I’ve come to realize that love isn’t always sexy. Rather it’s stable. It’s unconditional support from your partner. It’s shown in really simple and small mundane things such as him asking if I need anything when he leaves the room. It’s being in a sane, mature partnership where we pay the mortgage and meal plan each week. And after growing up in a toxic household where love wasn’t dependable but was used as a weapon. Mundane stable love is really really nice.
Having divorced parents, it was hard to believe in healthy and loving relationships when I was growing up. I have learned and implemented so much from the parts of your relationship that you have shown online over the years. I did not have a model of love to follow at home but I now practice the habits you guys have shared and your friendship with one another in my relationship. Alfie!! I'm never usually a commenter but I've been watching your videos for probably the last 8 or 9 years and I wanted to let you know how much you and future self has helped me. I graduated uni last year and had a really tough time struggling with my mental health and just trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and where I see my future. Only within the last few months have I really dedicated effort into my own self growth and healing. The message you've woven throughout the Future Self brand has helped me so much and opened my eyes to a new perspective of seeing things. I often find myself asking what I can do today that will make my future self happy. I've recently landed a job in my field that I'm now really excited about but was super nervous in the beginning, but again I reminded myself of what these opportunities will mean for my future self. All that to say a massive THANK YOU and to let you know that if anything you can know you've at least helped me shifted my mindset to a much more positive one as I continue to learn how to build my future while loving the live I have now :)

Me & my partner have been together almost 8 years, engaged for 6 & now have 2 boys, a 4 years old & 1 year old, & love for one another has changed in so many ways over those years, from 18 & 20 to 27 & 29. Love means to me now a kettled being boiled first thing in the morning ready for my coffee hes making me or the kettle on the evening after our boys are in bed where we can drink our drinks hot & cosy up on the sofa together. It’s getting in the car with a tank of petrol or being told to leave the washing up as he’ll do it when I’ve been with the kids all day & holding the fort down. It’s an early night with our reading lights on with no conversation but just each others company & our books. It’s quiet moments of, thank you & I love you, you look lush today & im thankful for all you do. It’s the ‘I’ll take the kids out for an hour so you can have some time alone to be less over stimulated’. The ‘how was your day’ ‘are you ok’ ‘book a girls day you need it’. The knowing what each other needs without being told or asked. The quick embraces we’re able to grab while not having the kids climbing on us. It’s just having each other there working as a team even if we’re barely able to say two words to one another. Love changes throughout ever chapter of your life. The choas of kids is a different ball game, but the closeness you have is unlike no other when you’ve created children together. No longer infatuated with each other but what we’ve created together knowing one day it’ll just be us two again. Knowing we’ve shaped our life today together. It’s hard & stressful but a love like no other. 💫💞

Been with my boyfriend for 6 years now, and we’ve not had the easiest road to happiness and love. But we’re in a great place now, just enjoying being in our first home together. Not putting any pressure on each other to love the things that the other one loves and enjoys. We have different hobbies and friendship groups but my favourite thing is just sitting in the same room together, me reading a book (my favourite thing) and him working on his laptop (his passion). Regarding productivity as a parent - 100% agree! I’ve never been more productive in my life. When the kids (we have two now) nap and it works out that they nap together, that’s my time to shine. I don’t remember what I did before having kids. So, yes, absolutely feel you!!

The part about what you did with your time before kids....that's why so many of us struggle after our kids leave home. We've had at least 18 years per child to forget who we are were before them. It's been fun to learn myself again. And it's a new chapter in a marriage/partnership. It's finding who you are as a couple in this older version of yourselves. Only advice I can give on that front is ALWAYS keep dating your partner. Incorporate child free time. My husband and I took one child free vacation per year. The kids stayed with grandparents and thought THEY were having the adventures but it was SO helpful to remember us apart from just being parents.

I found a new love for my life. Its so easy to focus on all the negatives in your life, that its easy to forget all the good things. I've started doing more things that make myself happy and focus on appreciating all the little things that make me smile. I also recently started studying at my dream veterinary school. I love that I get to spend my time studying the things I love with the goal of making such a positive impact on the lives of so many people and animals. It makes it so easy to love my life. That being said, years ago I would have never said this. Even if you aren't in love with your live, things DO get better. Trust me and trust the process!

I've just recently came out to my family and friends and though not everyone was accepting and had positive reaction, I was in a way happy. Happy to be finally who I truly am. No more pretending. Love right now feels like making a lot of mistakes because of all the trauma that you’re carrying from your parents’ relationship into your relationship but having someone who’s holding your hand through all the toughest hurdles, which makes it easier to want to hold on to that beautiful feeling of being loved and combating that fear of being more vulnerable and open. Generally though, I think love in all relationships keeps flowing and takes different shapes depending on which phase of life you’re at.

My little one is 20 months old on Tuesday and I genuinely have no idea what I did with my free time before we had him. My hubby is the exact same. We relish that “free time” now when he asleep or at nursery or with his grandparents as we don’t get that time anymore and I love him to absolute pieces he is my whole world but that time is precious and I agree what I get done when he’s napping is crazy!!

Speaking of future self, what love means to me at the moment is loving my present self. I hope this doesn’t come off as conceited or anything, but I’m at a point in my life where I’m spending quite a bit of time with myself. For the longest time, I tended to nitpick parts of me that I didn’t like and it was really difficult to be at peace while alone. As of now, I have learned so much about myself and started to love and adore me, the most pure version of me. I’be actually been feeling so nice lately, aside from the chaos that life has thrown at me. Because of the love I have for myself, I am way more capable of dealing with external stress and such.

Never been in romantic love but to me platonic love is feeling close to a person and for me, one thing i've learned recently is that despite having deep conversations with people, sharing things about yourself, having things in common etc, I feel my closest to people that I laugh with. Like ACTUALLY laugh. Cause I feel like I have had VERY few of those relationships and times in my life, so i've learned that that's when I feel closest to someone and like I love them most.

If you’re anything like me as a parent then I think you’re so productive during ottie’s naps bcos you want to make the most of her being awake, you want to be present to give her your full attention not busy trying to get chores done while she entertains herself bcos then you’ll miss out on these times and that’s when it tends to “fly by” bcos you’re not actually living in the moment with them (but yeah it’s also x10 quicker/easier with them not trying to get into everything as you’re doing it 🤣)

For me after almost 9 years together. I’ve come to realize that love isn’t always sexy. Rather it’s stable. It’s unconditional support from your partner. It’s shown in really simple and small mundane things such as him asking if I need anything when he leaves the room. It’s being in a sane, mature partnership where we pay the mortgage and meal plan each week. And after growing up in a toxic household where love wasn’t dependable but was used as a weapon. Mundane stable love is really really nice.
Having divorced parents, it was hard to believe in healthy and loving relationships when I was growing up. I have learned and implemented so much from the parts of your relationship that you have shown online over the years. I graduated uni last year and had a really tough time struggling with my mental health and just trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and where I see my future. Only within the last few months have I really dedicated effort into my own self growth and healing. The message you've woven throughout the Future Self brand has helped me so much and opened my eyes to a new perspective of seeing things. I often find myself asking what I can do today that will make my future self happy. I've recently landed a job in my field that I'm now really excited about but was super nervous in the beginning, but again I reminded myself of what these opportunities will mean for my future self. Me & my partner have been together almost 8 years, engaged for 6 & now have 2 boys, a 4 years old & 1 year old, & love for one another has changed in so many ways over those years, from 18 & 20 to 27 & 29. Love means to me now a kettled being boiled first thing in the morning ready for my coffee hes making me or the kettle on the evening after our boys are in bed where we can drink our drinks hot & cosy up on the sofa together. It’s getting in the car with a tank of petrol or being told to leave the washing up as he’ll do it when I’ve been with the kids all day & holding the fort down. It’s an early night with our reading lights on with no conversation but just each others company & our books. It’s quiet moments of, thank you & I love you, you look lush today & im thankful for all you do. It’s the ‘I’ll take the kids out for an hour so you can have some time alone to be less over stimulated’. The ‘how was your day’ ‘are you ok’ ‘book a girls day you need it’. The knowing what each other needs without being told or asked. The quick embraces we’re able to grab while not having the kids climbing on us.
It’s just having each other there working as a team even if we’re barely able to say two words to one another.
Love changes throughout ever chapter of your life. The choas of kids is a different ball game, but the closeness you have is unlike no other when you’ve created children together.

Been with my boyfriend for 6 years now, and we’ve not had the easiest road to happiness and love. But we’re in a great place now, just enjoying being in our first home together. Not putting any pressure on each other to love the things that the other one loves and enjoys. We have different hobbies and friendship groups but my favourite thing is just sitting in the same room together, me reading a book (my favourite thing) and him working on his laptop (his passion). The part about what you did with your time before kids....that's why so many of us struggle after our kids leave home. We've had at least 18 years per child to forget who we are were before them. It's been fun to learn myself again. And it's a new chapter in a marriage/partnership. It's finding who you are as a couple in this older version of yourselves. Only advice I can give on that front is ALWAYS keep dating your partner. Incorporate child free time. My husband and I took one child free vacation per year. The kids stayed with grandparents and thought THEY were having the adventures but it was SO helpful to remember us apart from just being parents.

I found a new love for my life. Its so easy to focus on all the negatives in your life, that its easy to forget all the good things. I've started doing more things that make myself happy and focus on appreciating all the little things that make me smile. I also recently started studying at my dream veterinary school. I love that I get to spend my time studying the things I love with the goal of making such a positive impact on the lives of so many people and animals. It makes it so easy to love my life.
That being said, years ago I would have never said this. Even if you aren't in love with your live, things DO get better. Trust me and trust the process!

Love right now feels like making a lot of mistakes because of all the trauma that you’re carrying from your parents’ relationship into your relationship but having someone who’s holding your hand through all the toughest hurdles, which makes it easier to want to hold on to that beautiful feeling of being loved and combating that fear of being more vulnerable and open. Generally though, I think love in all relationships keeps flowing and takes different shapes depending on which phase of life you’re at.

My little one is 20 months old on Tuesday and I genuinely have no idea what I did with my free time before we had him. My hubby is the exact same. Never been in romantic love but to me platonic love is feeling close to a person and for me, one thing i've learned recently is that despite having deep conversations with people, sharing things about yourself, having things in common etc, I feel my closest to people that I laugh with. Like ACTUALLY laugh. Cause I feel like I have had VERY few of those relationships and times in my life, so i've learned that that's when I feel closest to someone and like I love them most.

Who i love are my parents, my friends and my pets.
While I feel that love comes in many forms, through people, experiences, places, and passions. What comes to my mind is my long term relationship with my boyfriend. Love to me: is like never-ending sunshine. It’s warm, safe, and comfortable. It’s is unconditional and trusting with my whole heart completely. Everyday this love this becomes stronger, and I am so grateful for this.
To me love means- knowing they will be there for you, being able to spend time together alone and it be all you need, helping each other through any hard time, having good communication, feeling that they complete you, having a magnetic pull between you both, want to always be close, no pressure and everything comes natural…
My understanding of being in love is complete devotion to the person, by learning to love every new version they inevitably grow to become over the years. We constantly change as people, we aren't static or one-dimensional, so love to me is embracing every side of your partner and deepening your love for one another throughout your partner's personal growth. (I was undeniably in love and unfortunately the 4-year relationship is now ending - I'm 22).
If you’re anything like me as a parent then I think you’re so productive during ottie’s naps bcos you want to make the most of her being awake, you want to be present to give her your full attention not busy trying to get chores done while she entertains herself bcos then you’ll miss out on these times and that’s when it tends to “fly by” bcos you’re not actually living in the moment with them (but yeah it’s also x10 quicker/easier with them not trying to get into everything as you’re doing it 🤣)
Am in love with my 4 children…..it hurts me when they are in pain…or upset, I’d give my life for them, I worry all the time about them even though 2 are adults. Am in love with my partner of 15 yrs… he is always on my mind and just thinking about him makes me feel warm inside.
I‘m here since 2013!! It‘s unbelievable how fast time goes & how much has happened and changed during these years… Zoe‘s beautiful flat in Brighton, the first house, Nala 🐶 & now the new house and having OTTIE😍🥹. That makes me very emotional! Zoe & you were the first people I followed on RUclips.❤️ much love to you!
These two have little idea of how much joy and positivity their sweet faces and laughter brings to our lives :') I know that so many of us get the biggest smile on our faces when we get the notification that one of them has uploaded a new video. You guys are a huge part of uplifting a low and dull day. Love you all so much!
PS: Have you ever closed your eyes and put your forehead on Nala's and felt a tingly feeling? That, to me, is pure love. Animals are the purest form of unconditional love 🥰
