Comparison is the theif of joy! Most of us spend our whole lives wishing we was somebody else or had more than what we already have . It’s better to compare down instead of compare up, if we compare ourselves to those less fortunate than us then we count our blessings and much more content with what we have . If we was to put all of our problems into a pile , when we see other peoples problems we would soon take our own problems back from the pile.

He fought for almost a month to stay with me. All the vets + animal hospitals wanted money upfront before/after treatment so I've decided to quit my career in programming and open an animal hospital that will treat for free in the future. I'm horrified at the way human beings treat each other and now animals too. You're 100% right about these people with material wealth, money means nothing when we all cross over one day. I found a little inscription written in the back of a book my grandma had given my mom way back after my parents divorced when I was a kid. It was my dad’s mom who wrote it (clearly as an affirmation to my mom that she had my mom’s back in getting out of that marriage). I think the sentiment you’ve expressed (“quit your bitchin’ and get to it”) is a much more succinct take on what grandma wrote, but there was a certain poetry to it. It read: “A man of words and not of deeds Is like a garden full of weeds.” Dad was a man of more talk than action. Mom knew when to pull the weeds and get the garden back in order. Even worked out of state for them for 12 years. Had it all taken from me when the business sold. I was told they no longer wanted me and gave me a lead parachute of $10K to go back to my home state and find a new job. I tried my hardest, gave it my best shot with 43 years of my life. I failed. I'm done doing anything but trying to keep a roof over my head and staying dry and warm in the winter.
