- The El Tim team (Spain) styled this pine at the Generation Bonsai event. The trunk was massively bend; the main focus of the demo is on exactly that job.

By far the best transformation of all demos of this years Generation Bonsai series! Gotta love the Tim :-)

I know bonsai is just making a miniature tree that looks really really old, so in that sense there's nothing wrong here. But I feel like this rough and drastic way is a totally different approach to bonsai than it was 'meant', than it originally was.
But everybody his thing of course. It will look nice. I have to give it that.

+ASROUNDING BLACKFROST Hm there is no rule; it depends on how fast the tree thickens its branches. So keep a close eye on it!

a todo lo llaman bonsái en europa.. es un árbol al que le han cortado la mitad y le han doblado una rama....por supuesto eso mide mas de un metro y yosi hubiese pagado por la exposición exigiría mi dinero...
zamaxx / En Europa a ésto no lo llamamos bonsái, porque es un pre-bonsái. Yo de ti ya ni hubiese asistido a la exposición, así quedaría sitio para algún europeo que la hubiese disfrutado más. Y creo que tienes el "ojo de medir" un poco mal: si el arbolito mide más de un metro, entonces todos los chicos de El Tim miden más de dos metros... ¡¡¡qué altos son estos gallegos!!! ¡Salud!
