Very artistic, very professional. And also, by speeding up some repetitive segment. You keep your video always excited for viewers to watch.
Thank you so much for your instruction.
Thank you so much 😀
The originale tree was amazing as well!!!!
I’d love to see a follow up video/pictures of this tree, absolutely beautiful!
I’m an arborist and I’m so against topping and Improper cuts, but I’ve recently gotten into bonsai and I love how you can turn these awesome little trees into pieces of art. While I still love the natural look I can appreciate the amazing piece it will turn into.
Mountains are petrified giant tree stumps
One of the best videos so far Oscar. Bjorn is a excellent demonstrator and communicator. Well done all
Beautiful poetic process- cut to create, leave to accentuate. Love it!
Nice tree, it makes me want to go bonsai hunting right now.
I love watching Bjorn and following his journey. I've been a fan since he started
Excellent work, the tree is looking fantastic.
Thank you for yet another great video.
its always such fun and pleasure to watch Bjorn and Rafael working together. No matter if I watch Videos or see them in person like this years Noelanders.
Thanks for your instructive and educational Moments you share!!!! :-)
It's amazing how you had the vision to create this from the original tree.
Outstanding work with the tree. Liked it very much. Also - great videography.
What a beautiful piece of material, and what a bonsai it is becoming! Lovely! Well done!
It looks like they messed it up and were like "oh no, better try a weird ass potting method! Otherwise RUclips will know I'm a hack!"
I hope you plant 10 trees after scalping the land of OUR old growth natives. Thanks, we wont ever see these trees in millionaires homes and corporate offices. F U
Great explanation and detailing of work in HD ! Thank you
We definitely need more videos like this one!

BEAST of a tree. YAMADORI Pines like that is also found here in SWEDEN.. beer and bonsai.. Cheers!
Bonsai Talk did you sell yamadori pines
This taught me more than any expensive book I have
Um trabalho excelente! Parabéns!!!
It's nice that there are explanations about the concept :) The tree looks pretty now - and in time it will be even better :) But ... the ending (after video) is the best ^^
Stunning
Great video. I like the way you explained the styling intent, and why you chose the front (I thought the other side made a better front, but I get why you chose otherwise). Good explanations throughout the video, although I would like to know why you chose pure pumice versus a mix of other ingredients. I assume it has to do with the climate that the tree is growing in. Keep up the great videos!
What a great video keep them coming like this one!
Such confidence! You removed so much!
Getting a beard tickle and hand feeding at 12:59 What service!
Good Job, congratulations.
That’s a beauty good job guys
Holy shit what a transformation.
2022 update would be great :) also happy New year guys 👍
Very nice, I’d like to see 3 years later video of this tree.
Could you please make a follow up video in the future , so we can se the development of this tree?
Oterlia My thoughts, too.
Would have liked to see more about bending the apex !!! Overall a spectacular demo !!!!

Amazing vid, great job
great job. thanks for posting.
Increible ....gracias por compartir👏👏👏👆
Ước gì giờ này sau ba năm nhìn cây này, có lẽ là tuyệt vời.
Amazing as always!
I seen some of those towel mop ups in the cut
Thank you so much for all the videos you have made over the years. Great work as always. I have a question about the unnecessary branches you removed. Would you have made different decisions if you had chosen the final front from the beginning or were those branches in bad positions/shape regardless of the design?
very good TNX
17:30 it has been 2-3 years... how is it looking!?
Greetings from Puerto Rico, I have to say I enjoyed this video so much, love the art of bonsai and you guys did great work. I do have a question about the substratum that you're using, what it is and where do you buy it? Can I use any kind of substratum if I can't find the lava rocks or the one you are using? Thanks!!
Thanks Wilberto! Here is some more info on substrates: www.bonsaiempire.com/basics/bonsai-care/bonsai-soil
Amazing job, man. I have an alaska white spruce. It was collected close to 15 yrs ago and not too much has been done to it since then....a little wiring of the branches and that's about all. The tree set in a black garbage bag for about the first 10 yrs after collection and has been in a mica pot for about 5 yrs now. It's about 6 1/2 ft tall with the majority of the branches in the upper third of the tree......a definite literati. I would like to send you a picture of it and see if you can give me some ideas as to how I might try to style this guy. Also, when might be a better time of the year to begin working on a tree like this..
Nice video as usual. I disagree with your choice of front because of the angle of the trunk line (current front is leaning away), more interesting base perspective . But I see the styling of branches would be a lot more difficult. Anyway good job as usual. Phil from Bonsai Bros
Experts have an eye to how to give perfect shape
Sadly one key thing that gets missed off too many bonsai "how to" videos is when the best time of year is to do what they're demonstrating. Heavy pruning such as this has the potential to kill a tree if not done at the right time.
Is there any “universal“ answer to this question, or does it depend on the type of plant? Thanks for an answer :)
iSoinic Very roughly, you‘ll want to differentiate between deciduous and evergreen trees.
Español 2 y inglés it's 👌 it's perfect

Muito bom trabalho hormonioso
very cool
I hope i can see you because you are my idol,in my life i never see real japanese black pine and yamadori in malaysia as bonsai,i hope one day i can buy this type of bonsai, did you sell any bonsai black pine or yamadori please reply ok...tq
Great vid!
i understand the logic to repotting into a wood box with holes in it so there would be greater oxygen access, but could this tree have still been repotted immediately into a ceramic bonsai pot?
The purpose was to seek to improve the health of the tree and its recovery after design work. They also needed leaf mass growth, these things are achieved much more easily in a deep cultivation drawer. In addition, this material comes from yamadori, with which to reduce the bread of roots very suddenly to make it fit in a pot of bonsai is not advisable.
trentemoller is allways a good choice for a intro :)
Awesome tree and video...
I had trouble understanding some of the choices. Maybe a progression would help? I would like to see how this tree looks after a year or two. Or, maybe a drawing of how the tree is expected to develop would help to better demonstrate some of the choices. The extreme bends made to create the top felt and looked very forced to me.
They might as well cut the whole thing and leave a stump.. they cut off such beautiful branches..
I think your missing the point of bonsai. It's not just what it looks like in the moment but what it will look like in several years.
Nice
Why have the air holes in the box? Is it so you don't compact the roots or just for drainage?
helps drain the water, and it also brings in oxygen to the roots.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Show!
It look good.
❤❤
...goood 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
can you make a video showing what this tree looks like now?
Woun't the box decay after regular watering?
Excellent demo! Who are these ppl that are giving the thumbs down? :-/
Any update on this tree please. Thank you.
Wonderful! In this case, how long do you expect the wires will need to stay on the tree?
Yamadori is originally from seed that planted by nature in the wild. So are they have disadvantage of slow growing and slow progress?
It has been 2/3 years later any update pics or video?
2 lenguaje it's perfect
a beginner here ...so how long does it take the branch to set itself into the new bend , when do you remove the wire ? thanks!! nice video and info for later on :)
If you jin a branch, does it continue to grow? how long does it take for it to look aesthetically pleasing?
Very good ! 👏👏👏👏
I subscribed to the channel.

What's material which you used? Look like pumice?
danng wish u did updates
And today, after three years, what it looks like?
The tree has a bright future.
Where can I buy some bonsai materials such as bonsai soil and for wraping.
上手いです。
My yamadori bonsai in my country like streblus asper,,
I'd question what have you done for the benefit of the tree. It looks nice and all but how does that help the tree in the future?
Matt Parry that’s not what bonsai is about so much as making the tree look appealing. If you only did what was good for the tree, you’d leave it growing in nature!
Will that back bud? Very nice!
3 years in a pomice ? Which fertilize u use?
How long do you think you will keep the wiring and straps on?
Do the raffia and wire stay after the tree grows to its new position?
