Try blowing air up through a column full of plastic and copper.
You'll get a lot more separation.
    Same with water.
    Fluidized bed.

You beat me to it. I was just going to suggest a pumped water column, like Dan Hurd had tried out for classifying cons, but the PVC sheathing on the is much lighter than the copper (~1.35 & 8.96 respectively), so they would separate quite easily.

@@CaptainCheezmo my neighbor (industrial), separates nylon re-grind pellets from nylon fiber reinforcement strands that way.
The density is about the same, but the surface area to volume ratio makes the spiderweb thin short bits of fiber float to the top of the fluidized mass.
I figure the effect would be much, much more pronounced between little chunks of metal and plastic.
Might make a new class of material separation equipment for Jason to manufacture.

Great content, been watching since you started, I just built a nice furnace but don't have money for a crucible, is a steel crucible OK for copper or aluminum? I have dozens of small coffee cup size crucibles for gold, but also wanted to assay materials. Would steel be okay for that. There are hundreds of old mines here in N.E Wa. And I am not doing anything else. Thank you for your content.

Who do you sell your recovered material to?
Do they have like scrap dealers for precious metals that buy your gold and other metals you recover?

@PicoNano, yes they do have precious metal scrap buyers, most are smelters!

in my mind, if your wire granulator is leaving that much wire behind, you need a new or better granulator.

Burning wire is typically illegal and can lead to heavy fines. Some scrap yards won't even accept it. This isn't a viable method for most people
