I really enjoyed hearing about your beliefs. I'm Native American (Lakota) and we have similar beliefs about nature and all forms of life being interconnected. We were basically forced to convert to Christianity several generations ago but that was only at the end of the 1800s because there were still people living who could remember the old ways before the law changed in 1978 that allowed us to hold our traditional ceremonies once again. My family always secretly practiced our ceremonies because our reservation is big and there were places to go where no one from the govt could monitor or interfere. I don't live there anymore but I have been introduced to different pagan practices and ceremonies and the spiritual aspect is something that I am very drawn to. Thank you for sharing 💚🌱
Thank you for sharing your history and experience. I find it so interesting that so many ancient and indigenous cultures have similar practices and that nature was worshipped before Christianity. Beautiful that your family kept thier traditions alive through persecution xx

Laura, I just found you and am so glad- youre a bright blessing in this increasingly peculiar world! @gnostic268...I am so glad your family were brave and wise enough to secretly keep their beliefs and practices. My Cherokee ancestors assimilated into the culture of the colonists back in the 1600's in what is now Alabama, so we have nothing spiritual left to us from that branch of the family. My other family lines are all from the UK, and Scandunavia. They became Christian back when the Romans arrived with spears and swords to offer the popular missionary plan of " our way or die ". While I'm obviously thankful my ancestors opted to choose survival, I'm less happy about the mandatory religion. (Had many fruitless arguments with my late mum about this.) A few years ago I left religious dogma behind and started on my own path of spiritual exploration. My life became much more happy and rewarding. Nature is what we need most ❤ Blessings to all!
thank you for this lovely, honest, refreshing video. When the Roman Christians made their way north through the rest of Europe and into the British Isles, they robbed us of so much. We became a people bereft of our native spirituality. We’ve been hungry and searching for our connection to nature ever since. Nothing weird about pagan practice-yours or anyone else’s. It’s what we’re born for. We’re just finding our way back.
I do feel a very specific connection to the land/rivers/nature of the U.K. - definitely some kind of ancestral yearning going on!

I love your honesty and genuine nature which come across so well, and it is just refreshing to see your world as it is, rather than the more common polished version approach that only highlights the good points which is just not a true representation and sells a false impression.
Whilst I have limited knowledge of your chosen belief structure I have always felt that any deity, regardless of religion, can never condemn any person who practices good, loving and compassionate behaviour, in which case it doesn’t really matter what religion you align yourself to as long your values are genuine.

Love it, I only just came across your channel. I've been practising witch craft for decades, and whilst I don't think of it as a religion, it is definitely a spiritual practice. The fact that people practising mainstream religions, which are based on faith and made-up ritual, call witchcraft and paganism made up is hilarious to me. Most witches/pegans I know are down to earth people, not filled with arrogance and self-righteousness but acceptance and humility. ❤

Thank you for your video! I am 61 and have been interested in this pagan path for around seven years. Used to live on a narrowboat with hubby for ten years,something we decided to do once our children had grown up! We enjoyed it but got a bit too much eventually, wishing you all the best on your journeys, canal wise and spiritually!
I think living on a boat and an interest in nature/paganism sort of goes hand in hand!

I'm a nature worshipping celt with a smattering of the paganism, Huna, wicca, taoism and hinduism thrown in! Whatever touches my heart and soul is absorbed into my life. I also love how quantum mechanics is now opening us up to a new scientific paradigm, a magical, non local world where everything is connected and energy is everything.
I LOVE how you articulate yourself. You're like a storybook come to life. And finally I LOVE how you said bollocks to the naysayers and shared YOU.
I set my intentions too but in a different way...I write them daily and on my early morning dog walk, I bury the bit of paper they're written in the roots of a tree. I literally feel grounded and set for the day.

While I was in Bali I spoke to the locals about how similar thier Hindu practises are to what I do - there is so much kinship, particularly between very ancient faiths

I would classify myself as a nature-based spiritual with intense fascination with the occult. I have alwasy been attracted to wicca and traditional folklore. I find it intimidating because the history is so compex and can stem from so many different cultures. I would love to hear your experience, adivce on rituals, and even tales that you have been taught regarding where certain traditions come from

Thank you for posting this. I have been very interested in herbal healing, rituals and moon magic I guess some call it for much of my adult life. I used to frequent a metaphysical shop in the neighboring ciy every weekend in my early 20s searching for anything I could find, pagan books, stones/crystals, candles, herbs, music, tarot that I suppose was going to help connect back to nature and possibly myself. I felt an odd one out to even talk about it back in the early 90s, always drawn to it silently. I hope you continue to share on your channel this part of you life because it should be more widely recognized as a spiritual and religious practice in my mind. I also think your perspective is a breath of fresh air.

Its difficult to explain to people who don't get it so i tend to not talk about it myself either but you explained a lot of what i have in common with you very well. Your witch life is so interesting I’ve never been a religious person but always drawn in this direction, like yourself I haven’t spoken about this to many people, it came up in a conversation with my ex wife 18 months ago. I’m guessing that’s why she’s now my ex wife.

Laura, loved this vlog, I’ve been practicing as a witch for over a year and agree our practice needs to become more mainstream. When I tell people I’m a witch I get a mixed response, but once I explain the connection to nature, working with the rhythms of the seasons and the moon phases people are definitely more receptive. I’m sure a few still think I’m a nutter though. 💚🦋💚

I really enjoyed this video and agree with what you say, i dont know much about pagan rituals as such but am very interested in our spiritual side. My interest began after some experiences when i was a child that left me with a lot of questions. i have studied a lot of aspects of spirituality and the paranormal, i at one point carried out paranormal investigations around the country, and have gone into everything from spiritulism, angel work, and crystal work. I have never used tarot cards but do work with angel cards, i go camping in Cornwall every year and always visit St Nectans Glen, you can actually feel the energy there. The universe is vast and there are many hidden elements, agree with what you say about intuition ive had many a good deep discussion about that. What i love about camping is that connection with nature which is what pagans also experience, nature itself is a powerful force.

I became very spiritual from something that happened to me since i was a child. I used to read tarot cards and got good results from it. I don't now but im still into mediumship and meditation. Thank you ever so much for such a lovely vlog! I have considered myself to be Pagan for nearly 40 years, ever since meeting with some historical reenactors. I found that, when I started looking into the way of life in past times, the belief systems just seemed to resonate more with me than anything else had even done! (BTW - my mum described herself as a Christian but, when I asked her about what sort, she said that she had not found any that really suited her - and I think that I followed the same path, but I just took it further! 😊) I have been reading in different ways, and meeting different people, and I often find that I get on better with people who are more open to life, than those stuck in one path.
One thing that you said - never apologise for being weird! I am weird (described by some as 'Silly Uncle Paul' , a name that I adore! 😁) My opinion is that there is no such thing as weird - only interesting, and interesting people are a friend who i haven't met yet! 😁 So please make more videos on your beliefs as I would love to see your way of living within the natural world, and seeing how you conduct your life within the old ways! I've never been very spiritual but my old neighbor practiced what I guess was witchcraft and actually helped me out with it when I first moved in to that apartment. The place was filled with what I can only describe as a very dark and oppressive vibe that I didn't notice until after moving in. It just felt evil in a way that I had only felt once before when I stupidly tried crystal meth in my younger days. I bumped into her one day and she offered to burn (sage I think?) To cleanse the place. Seemed nutty but I said why not bc I was locked into a year lease in a new city. I'll be damned if that place didn't have a whole new positive vibe after she was done with the ritual. She was retired and did it while I was gone to work and when I came home I felt like i was actually home and had some of the best sleep ever that Night. Never did get an answer on what mightve caused that negative energy whether it was maybe a former tenant that was evil or what.

A past conversation on religious cultural appropriation brought up the similarities of modern practices taking from Native Americans being a helpful framework to rebuild the practices that were stamped out. Understanding and lack of offense resulted.
The convergence of science and practice beliefs continues.
There is no conflict between in my veiw.

I’ve always been fascinated by your ‘Earthy’ practices, belongings and general views, and have been drawn to this ‘style’ of living since I was at school, even though I’ve never gifted a lock of hair to nature, but why not?
By the way, I’m taking your guidance and looking at taking a month ‘For Me’ and going to create a self healing journey to Thailand as far removed from negative energy as I can manage. Home is Port Arthur Tasmania and a beautiful area, but I need serious me time to regroup, and assess, plan, implement.

I never commented before but always enjoy your videos, you always seem so open and straight, and say what you believe, I consider myself to be agnostic but never really talk about it, I went for a cycle ride along the River Lea towpath a couple of weeks ago, and while I was watching your video I kept seeing shots that looked so like where I had been and then I see a shot from the bridge and I paused the video, I knew the spot and looked at the time stamp: 19 50, I was born in 1950, I had stopped there on my bike ride, and had a pint in the Jolly Fisherman just to the right out of shot, Lovely sunrise... Ken

You are a good speaker and I enjoyed watching, not sure I agree about no gatekeeping popular trope aside not everything belongs to the masses... but I think I guess your meaning. Magic is for everyone it is apart of human heritage it survived in the folk for a reason.

I am definitely a natural witch but it's not something I've ever really explored yet. Your video fills my heart with joy, warmth and inspiration thank you. I walk this path mostly alone as experiences have made me wary of being labelled as insane and also being scared to influence anyone else's beliefs. It sure would be lovely to meet others with similar beliefs.

I love the aesthetic of your interior decorating, and I love how you explained the bits about the related history. I agree that people generally wouldn't make open criticisms toward religions until it comes to one that appears, to them, to be controversial. If we look at what the beliefs are, their roots, and how each person celebrates their beliefs -- it's just like any other belief system and there are common concepts we can find from beliefs universally. I personally love nature and just admiring it in general. I'm so glad I found your channel, can't wait to keep watching more of your content! 💛
