    This is the best screen replacement tutorial on youtube. I can say that after watching every single last one. Everyone else used a green screen on their phone except you--reflections really sell this effect, and the track matte part was the key here (no pun intended). THANK YOU for taking the time to put this up!!!

    Thanks for this. At 5:12 u can also just create a solid the size of the comp, apply MOCHA tracking data to that solid, pre-compose it (leaving attributes) and then add any images in that pre-comp, fitting the image to the whole comp

    Man the way you setup the track really helped a difficult shot. This is far and away the most handy video for tricky phone shots. Thanks!

    I agree with T3chnicolor - this is the best Mocha AE screen replacement tutorial on YT. If I'd found your video first it would've saved me about 90 minutes of confusion and frustration the "other guys" caused. Totally ACE vid - many thanks!

    This may help someone else: if you have masks on the main clip or the main clip is repositioned and not in the default position, it will not corner pin right, so if you are opening/modifing from Premiere for example, it may give you problems if you did some tweeking there already.

    Thank you so much! - I just wanted to replace a red pimple in a face, that´s talking and moving. Now I´ve made it! ;-)
    Most workshops use Mocha Pro, your workshop explains tracking with the normal Version in AE. Regards from Germany!

    Isn't the precomp that's stretched unnecessary? Why not corner pin the comp that is there vertical aspect ratio directly in?

    Every time I hit apply export the layer I'm filling the screen in with ends up displaced and doesn't follow along with the edges I set up in Mocha. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    I always have trouble tracking when there's a thumb scrolling in front of the corner pin tracking. Does this method have less issues with that?

    • @littlecoloreddots
      @littlecoloreddots 3 года назад

      All the layers above the layer you have selected for tracking will be excluded from the track. So is you draw a mask around the thumb, it will not throw off the track on the layer below it.

    i dont know why there was no instructions given at arguably the most important parts. Right off the bat you start plotting these points.
