This one also had a rod sterling sound to it
It’s not incredible that these conversation/ monologues remind you of a guy who killed him self
@@Danbud1984 Anthony had a way of connecting with and portraying the raw human experience in a way few others could. The ability to approach that level of artistic expression is indeed incredible.

06:29 THIS
This is what I’m here for dammit.
I’ve been a bartender in my life. I used to be all snobby and get upset about such moments until I realised to stop judging others.
I’ve also been a barista and had the same behaviour about what ‘real’ coffee should be until I realised the same.
I’ve even been a chef many years ago and I remember when a docket would print out with a ‘well done steak’ and all the chefs, including myself would all moan out loud about how sacrilegious this was to ‘ruin’ such a beautiful cut of meat/animal. Ranting and raving at how stupid the customer is.
I went through all these stages. ‘Soy decaf cappuccino with cinnamon instead of chocolate sprinkles’?!?! I would lose my fuckin mind every time.
But not long ago I finally learnt a great lesson in life. 06:29 let them have their cake however they want. Stop judging. Stop being elitist.
I regret my behaviour so badly now. Ashamed at how rude I was toward people who didn’t think the way I did. It ended up destroying me, I became so bitter after so many years in hospitality that all I’d ever do all day, everyday at work was whine about customers not ‘behaving’ how I would like them to.
It wasn’t until I had finally decided to leave, and during those last months I actually began enjoying my work. I had realised that I approached all my career the wrong way; I had always considered the customer a burden and ‘in my way’ of doing my work ie. keep a clean bar/kitchen and stocked up Mise en place. When in reality the customers *were* my job.
I had it all the wrong way around and it made my work life miserable for most of my life.
Are you still in hospitality?
Thank you for this
Okay, this is just a quality moment:
I was explaining to my girlfriend how much I like Babish, mainly because he is so thoughtful about details, really researches and thinks through his videos. I love that he is *thoughtful* about his impacts... and at that exact moment, he sticks his hand into a vat of mash around (4:00) and my girl friend is like “Yeah, I can really see that.” Lololol

You: "Ron Swanson's favorite, Lagavulin."
Me, an idiot: LAGAVULIN IS REAL!?
Lagavulin is a legit whiskey and it's not cheap. $100 and up for a fifth and the price depends on the age of the whiskey or if it's a special version.
Tony Stark is also a fan of Lagavulin, I believe.
@@BIGBLOCK5022006 Whisky*
@@BIGBLOCK5022006 Lagavulin 8 year, 16 year, Distiller's Edition, and 12 year cask strength are the regular realeases. I can get the 8 yr and 16 yr for under $100, the DE for about $100, and the 12 yr cask strength for about $150. Something about Babish is so wholesome and endearing, I think it’s that feeling of camaraderie from a distance you get from his show that makes it so appealing.
Your episodes of being with Babish have inspired me to share my own story of the last year. I lost my father last summer to brain cancer, almost a year ago to writing this. I discovered binging maybe a few months before his diagnosis and had started experimenting in the kitchen. My father was a man who loved food, and your videos inspired me to create dishes that brought both him and the rest of our family a small comfort in the final weeks of his life. It wasnt without a few mishaps (I destroyed a pot and his waffle iron with my exploration), but your show is one of a few things that gave me purpose and brought me joy in the last very difficult year. I've kept on cooking, and sharing dishes with others in the spirit of my fathers giving nature, and I would not have the skills to do this today without your channel. It would be a disservice to not thank you in some small way. So thanks Andrew. Keep on cooking my man.
