I'm not sure Steve watches this for comments so I'll respond. It weighs very little but is somewhat wind resistant so you generally cast with a 7 or 8 wt rod but it could be cast with a 6 weight for good casters. Since this is primarily tied as a redfish fly, a 7 or 8 wt. rod is normal.

What does that spoon fly weight after its done? What weight rod are you casting that fly on?
