Just to add to this discography. Ed’s written many songs for others. Some of the biggest hits in the industry.
tru lol
Like what songs?
@@georgeandfriendsadventures5073Love yourself, Cold Water etc
@@georgeandfriendsadventures5073 Jessie Ware- Say you love me. Justin bieber- ‘cold water’ and ‘love yourself’. BTS- ‘permission to dance’ and ‘make it right’. One direction- ‘little things’ and ‘18’. Benny blanco, khalid, Halsey- ‘Eastside’. Anne Marie-‘2002’. Little mix Nicki Minaj- ‘woman like me’ are some of them I can remember.
@@keenanpaul8968 I’m surprised he wrote Woman Like Me, that’s interesting
I honestly think he's just a chill guy that makes music for the fun of it. Like, he says writing pop songs doesn't come Natural to him, but he loves hanging out with his friends and making them. He truly just does whatever the fuck he's in the mood for 😂
lmao yea i see tht
As an Ed Sheeran fan he usually makes music to get through the ''bad times'
everything changed when i saw ed sheeran live - thats where he REALLY shines as a musician... its unreal how huge of a sound and how much energy he brings as a one-man-show with just his acoustic and looper. don't count him out until you see him live!
lol hey jason!! yea i've actually been looking into getting tickets lol
@@jasonpaulkim u won't regret it
I saw Ed Sheeran open up for Taylor Swift on her Red tour. I was pretty mind blown by him live. Became a fan ever since.
this dope man!
I genuinely think that people who dislike Ed Sheeran just do it because they want to seem 'above that'. He's a super talented song writer and has a beautiful voice. He's also a super chill, down to earth guy....what's not to like? His music/voice might not be your cup of tea, but if you can't find at least a few Sheeran songs that you can enjoy, that's a you problem ;)
lmao yea i can kinda see tht people just write him off as a bland pop star
I think ed sheeran seems like such a good natured guy like hes just sweet and doing what he loves
agreed

I am truly a giant fan of Ed. Great think that you did here. The documentary, The Sum Of It All, it was so emotional on me. Thank you so much for making this video. And I love The Mathematics era so very much.

Nice, to me subtract def brought me back to ed sheeran again after not being a big fan of his previous 2 albums. I think subtract is objectively his best album. But mulitply is my personal fave cuz i was 15/16 and remember listening to it on loop when it came out. The soundtrack to my teenage years honestly.
yea honestly i love multiply and i feel like it's one of his best written. personally i feel like subtract isn't his BEST written album but the emotions it conveys hit hardest
OK I actually didn’t realize how many of his singles I actually do know lol I will definitely give his discography a listen when I get the chance!!
Haha, it was the same for me a couple years ago. I didn’t think I even knew who he was and when I searched out his music, I was like “oh, that’s him? Oh, that’s him too? Oh, yeah, that song. Ok I guess I know a lot of Ed Sheeran’s music.” 😂
@@400_billion_suns yes exactly 😂
yea cuz every single of his blows up lmao it's crazy
He’s not a rapper he’s a singer with the flow 😉
lmao
Bullshit
True 😂
subtract brought me back to my ed sheeran era and I know it might be his absolute best but I think it's the most album of his that I've had on repeat since it dropped
and i also think that because it was such an emotional album to got me wanted to know more about Ed and connect with him as a person which led me to watching his interviews and documentary and even this reaction video and yeah basically we're besties now 😊
lmao i totally get it
Duude divide was the first album I bought! Got to the record store a day early to reserve it, and he just gave it to me right away, so I got to listen to it a day early! Core Memory for sure
lmao twinssss
i gotta blame you for getting the phrase “ISSA BANGER!” stuck in my head
ur welcome :)
I absolutely love Ed. He is amazing live too. I'm also Aussie and he's a lot bigger here. He just recently sold out two 110k shows in Melbourne
damnnnn lmao
@JasonPaulKim I also love thinking out loud and I'm that basic bitch who has the lyrics tattooed on my thigh 🤣
i think for lana it takes a while to fully understand and get into her albums bc her sound is so experimental. but i would say the easiest to get into is born to die or norman fucking rockwell
makes sense lol
Hey man just wanted to say something ,I am biased towards ed and i am a big fan of him. He's the bloke who inspired me to start writing songs and playing the guitar a bit more seriously. Also i too like ed had a stutter while i was growing up and my sister was kind enough to buy me his 1st album : + and i resonated with a tune called" you need me, i don't need you ", i learned that tune from back to front and it weirdly enough helped me get rid of my stutter. I am also not the best looking guy on this planet and listening to ed's interviews about maintaining a work ethic and practicing every single day really inspired me and i began channeling my deepest thoughts into lyrics which i eventually made into songs . I know the bloke gets alot of flack for changing his sound but i really love it how he loves exploring every single genre. From soulful ballads like : Perfect ,Thinking out loud , Tenerife Sea to Rap tunes like : Take me Back to London, You need me, Take it back, 2step to pop smashes like bad habits, shivers .. the guy is everything i want to be. Plus he is extremely kind, donates to charities, visits hospitals and never lets the hate get to him. Regardless i love the guy for who he is, in my book he will always be a legend and an inspiration and the funny thing is ed still ends all of his shows with "you need me ". Also i know what ed went through in 2022 , his closest friend Jamal Edwards passed away and that must have shook him because he released a tune called F64 as an ode to jamal and its fucking incredible( check it out on sbtv) also the fact that that many of the tunes in subtract cover insecurities , grief and the main theme on "-" is how to live life without things ( a.k.a Subtract things from life), i am not only hopeful but i am sure this will be his best body of work. Thanks for reading. Lots of love xx
hey man that's awesome! I can def see how ed would be an inspiration!
He’s the one who made me want to start writing songs and get serious about guitar too and I totally agree with everything you said, he’s such and inspiring person and he really changed my life to be honest. And yeah Subtract is such an amazing album!! Glad you’ve been inspired by him too, he’s really an amazing man.
i dont listen to ed sheeran often, but when i do i feel a sense of nostalgia, like you said. i used to listen to his songs in the car all the time w my family an it just reminds me of those times
i think you should do this type of video with chase atlantic!!! i love their music and i'd love to watch the videoo
Just stumbled upon your video and I honestly really respect how you react to these albums. I think you're really cool about being able to express how you feel without being overly negative or biased in any one way. I feel like a lot of reactors just lean fully into a positive or negative perspective so this was really refreshing. As an Ed Sheeran fan, I've seen so much hate and I feel like it's just because they hear a few of the biggest hits and decide he's just really basic and generic when a lot of his music has a lot more depth than a lot of people think. Ed rapping is a different conversation but I honestly don't mind it that much, and I personally love Eraser.
your videos are so good man, i never even search ed on spotify and now i wanna listen to his entire discography
thank u! and yea man i def recommend it :)
I think no. 6 collaborations was just Ed have a good time
i def see tht lol
Love the video, you are great for doing this! I am a genuinely HUGE fan of Ed by far my favorite singer. I just feel like his music connects with me emotionally at a different level, and his falsetto is just beautiful. I like you analysis, but absolutely cannot believe that you called Subtract shit. By far my favorite album of all time from any singer. The emotion and peacefulness one can draw listening to it is next level and saltwater is my favorite Ed song.
Just because your in the middle of a series doesn't mean that you can't make other videos about other artists! I really liked this video, and whenever u choose to post the next Taylor video, I can't wait💞
thank u i rlly needed tht 😪 lol
Your editing here improved! I hope ur channel grows bigger and finally get those eras tour tickets brother good luck
thank u!! and fingers crossed :)
Salt water is my favorite 😭💛

I would recommend Herion from Lust for Life, I think its really beautiful lyrically as well as Summertime Sadness and Living Legend. Amazing content, keep up the great work

The way I haven’t listened to a new Ed album since 2014 😭 plus is a fcking masterpiece dude! Drunk is my all time fav Ed song, w wake me up following. Been crying to this album since I was 12 reading 1d fanfiction on my iPad in 2012 lmao. But this album and the 5 ep holds such a special place in my heart. Was obsessed w those albums in middle school. Also dude FINALLY SOME SHIRTSLEEVES APPRECIATION!!! That’s been my fav song since my first listen, man she’s so beautiful and underrated 😭😭
haha thts awesome i def recommend checking out some of his newer stuff :)
this is crazy because I recently just started listening to a lot of Ed Sheeran-

I have loved Ed since he first started. He came to do a small event here in the Minneapolis area before he was really known, and I was hooked.
thts awesome
omg so for the lana part at the end I'll try suggesting six songs that kinda define her sound?
ride, brooklyn baby, the greatest, if you lie down with me, summer bummer, chemtrails over the country club

Dude. The editing is beautiful, top notch stuff

Lana del Rey is amazing id love a Lana video best thing that got me into her was National Anthem (make sure to listen to the demo) and Diet Mountain Dew and LISTEN TO BORN TO DIE FIRST!! Also love the editing
thank u :)
Ron (Rupert Grint) was in the music video because they look alike and in the music video Rupert looks like and tried to go to the concert i think. Ed stated that "I've grown up with the Potter films and have massive respect for him as an actor," he said. (Source Capital UK)
ahhh i see
Love this video. I am more of an old school sheerio, so plus will always be great for me. Curious about subtract, so I will add that to my album list 😊
My first and only album of Lana was the one you listened to, but i think with her, you need to absorb each album for a week, not all albums at once. Once you do, you will start appreciating Ocean Blvd more. I love it now, but it was a struggle getting into it on my initial listen
Please do Carly Rae Jepsen as well!!
noted and totally recommend subtract it was a good listen :)
0:39 let's take a little break from Taylor Swift and let's talk... about the male version of Taylor Swift
we love ed
lol yea i agree except for shape of u tht song is mid as heeeeeeeck
not the ass shaking in outback steakhouse (also I just wanted to say I enjoy watching your videos on like any artist, I just love seeing people discuss an artists discography)
🫣 and im glad u like it :)))
when it comes to lana del rey, you should start by her older stuff (born to die, ultraviolence) to her newest, cause usually her newest albums are kind of hard to get into if you’re not a fan
thank u :)
after plus, multiply, and divide which are all massive. the equals and subtract felt like hallow. but i still like some of it tho. it felt like he just needed to complete all the math symbols. but the first 3 studio albums are just top notch. 👌🏼
I’d love to see you cover artists like AJR, imagine dragons (for the sake of nostalgia alone), regina spektor, and the lumineers. also, great video, it weirdly brought back so many memories.
Ur videos are so fun to watch!! Now i kinda wanna check out some songs of him
haha thank u! highly recommend :)
and sorry I'm spamming the comments 😭 but this is the first time I stumbled on your channel and I was impressed, didn't agree on everything you said but you were very objective and you actually do your research and put time into your judgment, very respectful (though when you said he's not the best looking dude I was like that's foul, 😭) and you're funny too, the editing is fun and amazing! so overall a fun first experience on your channel and you got my sub
haha thank u!! i'm glad u enjoyed
Believe it or not, thanks to you I also began with the series "ranking every Song from ..." for myself.
Not only is it fun, but I discovered so many songs from certain artists and certain albums. Right now I have ranked every song from The weeknd and Taylor Swift (I am rn working on Lana Del Rey). I began with the series in February so one can tell I really take My time and listen to the albums multiple times to understand them better, because that's what music is.
So yeah, thx for the inspiration. Some artists that I will look in the future one day (and perhaps you too lol) are for example: Sam Smith, Bruno Mars, Lewis Capaldi and Adele. Ed will be noticed in my list too👍🙌
that's awesome man i'm glad i inspired u lol i'm honored :)
can we appreciate the cheers mate rap😂and omg that was grt british accent plus grt animation makes the video evn more fun .....and jason for lana take as much time u can she like that one artist more you listen more u vibe with her ....i started mine with norman fucking Rockwell but i actually rec u start with born to die or ultraviolence
thanks for the help :)
ever since the Taylor ranking stuff i was waiting for this video! I very much enjoyed it thanks!

Plus gotta be the best album ed made i remember my brother introducing me to this foreign genre where people spoke english instead of our native language and it was pretty memorable for me
yea it's great!
Loved this video, been waiting for it since I found your channel a few months ago. I would move Divide tot he top (personal connection with it), but otherwise I think ur ranking was on point. Thank you for being one of the few to not outright hate on Equals. I think it definitely has gems. I noticed it was not in your top 5, consider giving Tides another chance. Tides, Collide, and Be Right Now (that song is not everyone’s cup of tea, right away, but it’s a huge grower for me) are my favorites!
tides wasn't bad lol but i'll def give the whole album another listen at some point
Another excellent video! I love Ed for much the same reason I enjoy Taylor: they are not the greatest singers but can sing, not the greatest musicians but can play. What the both do really well is create Amazing Music and Entertain! Ed rapping is not for loving him rapping, but he totally pulls it off and that’s just fun. Also for both the sound of a great acoustic guitar catches my attention.
totally agree!!

Diet Mountain Dew
National anthem
Cherry
Ride
West coast

Went to a concert of his last year, Ive always been a massive fan and the music is great. I also very much can relate to what youve said in this video. I would love to see you make a video about Lewis Capaldi’s stuff when his new album (broken by desire to be heavenly sent) comes out and then please dont forget about his previous album, you’ll love it. I promise
yea i'm def gonna check his new album out on friday just not sure how to squeeze in content for it atm

Why it's always about hype?
Taste is the word........
Some have it, some don't
You have to listen to 'Little Lady'. It's a collab of Ed and Mikill Pane, most amazing collab in all his album.

Some songs you may love by Lana Del Rey are Flipside, Freak, and Lust for Life (ft. The Weeknd). Also, I love the animations.

In regards to lana del rey…NORMAN FUCKING ROCKWELL! Listen to norman fucking rockwell. It’s her M.O. not only is it loved by fans, the critics adore it as well. I’ve been listening to lana since 2014 and in relation to Taylor, her eras are extremely distinctive and have a life of their own (not to mention, her bridges are wonderfully written like Taylor’s). But lana is a masterclass at creating personas and worlds for her different albums. Whilst also staying true to herself. Maybe I’m biased bc this woman literally raised me and her first two albums had such a veritable impact on me I swear to god I wouldn’t be the person I am today if not for 13 year old joya religiously listening to lana sing about death, older men and drugs 😭. Born to die and ultraviolence (paradise too, kinda) changed the trajectory of my adolescence not many other artists truly had. It’s been an absolute treat being a fan for 9 years bc I’ve been privileged enough to not only watch lana grow as an artist and a woman but also progress along w her. A lot of her earlier works are quite controversial bc of aforementioned topics and songs like “cola” 👀 can’t wait for you to hear the opening line of that song lmao. But it was all part of a presence she created. It was a force that drew a shit ton of people in. For a long time she was truly the epitome of “sad girl” but that started to decline in 2017 when she released her album, Lust for Life. It’s the first album cover where she’s smiling and the name isn’t a misnomer 😭. Don’t get me wrong, she still sings about the sadness that plagues her, but it’s not at the forefront of her music anymore. Her most recent album Ocean Blvd is lana at her most personal and intimate. A lot of that album pertains to her personal experiences and her family, the grants. Lana fans have dubbed it as an Elizabeth Grant album bc of her personal it is. It has more in common w Lizzy than the character and stage name lana del rey. I think once you make it through her other albums and relisten you’ll understand and appreciate ocean blvd more. It’s kind of funny bc lana is infamous for having the most questionable lyrics and has a penchant for romanticizing them. You’ll get used to it bc only she could get away w it. Mostly bc it’s authentic to her brand and her songwriting. Like on her new album she has a lyric that reads “open me up, tell me you like it, fuck me to death” or “pass me my vape, I’m feeling sick, I need to take a puff” like I heard that and was like “ugh that’s so lana 😍” hopefully you’ll come to understand lmao. Her more recent albums are very different from born to die (which, fun fact is not her debut, it’s actually ‘Lana Del Ray aka Lizzy Grant’). Despite noticeable differences, at their core, Lana Del Rey still wrote them and tinges of her are still apparent in the different worlds she has created. Anyways, her NFR album is definitely her magnum opus and I think you’ll enjoy bc it is a masterpiece. I personally don’t think she has any bad albums and it’s much easier to list her weaker ones bc there are so few compared to the masterpieces. I’ll wait to rank my albums for the sake of social influence and opinions lmao.
It’s also funny that her earlier music was dubbed as sad girl music bc when summertime sadness was popularized due to that god forsaken remix in 2013, I decided to listen to the original and I remember thinking “I don’t like this bc it sounds sad”. At the time the only things I cared about were minecraft and one direction, so it’s safe to say I was still innocent and happy. But unfortunately, I started to experience the trials and tribulations of what it means to a teen girl so I inevitably I listened to her music a year later and had become obsessed. For me personally, she helped me identify this melancholia that branded me at such a young age and it was comforting listening to her music. Not only was I young and easily influenced, but her songwriting and world building was so enchanting. If not for lana del rey, we wouldn’t have artists today like billie eilish and phoebe bridgers. She truly paved the way for young girls and women of the 21st century, like mazzy star and the g, fiona apple did in the 90s. And Lana is aware that her fans are similar, lana fans are truly a different breed. So much so she has released merch such as bronze lighters, pill cases and probably her most infamous, a gold heart necklace that had a little spoon connected to it (ik the latter sounds bad but listen to ultraviolence and it’ll make sense). Lana is unapologetically herself, like the aforementioned artists and doesn’t give a fuck what other people think. She’s going to wear her heart on her sleeve and be a bad bitch while doing it 🤷🏾♀️ she’s an icon. Idk dude, only lana could’ve had 13 year old me on my knees begging for god to let me bring my nonexistent man to heaven w me. I feel like I just talked in circles, but I’m too lazy to reread this comment 😭 can’t wait for you to listen to her discography , peace
No I lied, one more thing! She also has a shit ton of unreleased songs and albums that you can find all over the internet (especially tiktok, her unreleased songs tend to go viral on there) they’re also worth a listen but I recommend finding a YT playlist of her popular ones bc you will most definitely drown
lol thanks for the help
