Although some redditors will claim otherwise, nihilism is the dumbest of all philosophies. It also has literally no one defending it in academic philosophy.
Also, the „save a stranger or your pet“ question is a strawman. Asking a large group of people individually a simple a or b question does not hold any significance whatsoever. Also, I highly doubt that would actually turn out to be the case in a real life scenario. You also can't expect to conclude philosophical insight from people who are not familiar with different arguments or concepts, like moral realism forw example.
