The musical introduction with the choir and instruments before celine began singing was so, so good. A true celebration of edith’s original song. I think celine did it justice!
Maxe you are beautiful, Celine is beautiful, Paris is beautiful.....best city on earth. The heavens cried and Celine was pure perfection. A moment for the ages!!!!

It was a stunning performance, incredibly moving. It would be interesting to hear your reaction to Slimane and Lara Fabian's performance. of Je suis malade at the pre-Olympic performance. ruclips.net/video/wW5wC_WLFbg/видео.html
It’s nice that as a French person you hold such pride for Celine, but you seem to purposefully not mention that she is from Montréal, from Quebec, from Canada, ( the second largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris btw) nor the health challenges she has been battling on her own, just as Québec has stood its own ground as a distinct French-speaking society over the last 250 years under Anglophone dominance, no thanks to France. Celine’s blockbuster contribution to Francophonie is not a product of France; it’s a global phenomenon. This was a moment not just for France, but for all French-speaking people, in fact for anyone who has fought back from adversity, or ever has been or dreams of being in love. Your Olympic organizers certainly understood this when choosing her to perform. I hope you now do too.
Of course she is the Canadian québécoise queen 👑🇨🇦 this reaction is only from my French perspective, as I never travelled or experienced Canada and le Québec at the moment. And it’s even more related to Edith Piaf song for me that’s why this reaction is more into my French view over the performance. But I understand your comment don’t worry I will mention more her Quebec origins next time! 😁🫶🏻
Happy for all Les Francais. I wish I could say that we in the US could have a moment like this that could actually unite us, but I'm not holding my breath.
