I basically stopped using doordash for anything hot or fresh, I tip really well but then they will stack an order and deliver mine after and I was getting a lot of cold food. With the cost of food and the disappointment it's just not worth it. I will order pizza or desserts possibly a cold sandwich but nothing hot anymore.
I would wait until they send a decent order to start. It seems like it is algorithm or “coincidence”-far order gets far ones, etc.. Not always 💯 percent, but I do think 🤔 it helps. I use to pause in shady areas also. Sometimes they send orders near the customer rather than the restaurants for some reason-ass backwards, but that is DD for you.🤯
The bad part about looking at AR is that you can start taking a few and you start to feel good. Then they'll load like 4 trash orders like $2.50 for 6 miles at a place you know you're going to have to wait. Then you'll get it again. Hit decline again and you'll see it yet again but this time bundled with another of their trash so you will get 2 pickups for $6 going 8 miles. It's very dishonest for them to ding you 3x for the same order because they are relentless with these offers.
We can only do what we can and move on. If customers want to get that serious about their order they really should pick it up themselves. I have had some experiences like that. People basically stalk your location. I’ve had people order one bag of ice or one bag of chips and I figure it’s their money shrug 🤷🏻♀️ I try to stay in the mid 70s AR but so feel you the struggle is real. People honestly think we have delivery magic wands or something.

I got an order for Safeway one time that said 45 items. I accepted it and it was 45 Roma tomatoes. They had them too so everything worked out perfectly but if only every case could be so easy 😆

Doordash counts multiples into the item count. For example: 3 of the same item would come thru as 3 items. So if it's 23 items, it may only be 5-6 items with multiples of each. But you know what, it's dollar general, so I wouldn't be willing to take that gamble either.
JUST TELL TH EM THEY WOULD NEED TO CALL THE RESTAURANT FOR THAT TYPE OF REQUEST. I think the reason why food gets cold its because no one wants to pick up a bad order. Every time an order gets rejected i think they add more money to the trip until some one finally accepts to pick it up. This means if they was to leave a good tip it would get picked up right away. ALWAYS LEAVE AT THE DOOR????..... no why???... i wanted to leave it on the roof... these customers are no fun.
I made a mistake and didn’t check to see if my dash screen was set on “ by order” and the first order was 18 miles 😂. I knew right away it wasn’t because I couldn’t see the price. Does anyone see “by time“ automatically picked before you start?
Most likely…the son wanted a taco and dad said I’ll door dash it if you pay. My kids always want McD’s door dashed on “off school” days. But they spend their own money. 😂

why don’t people just call the actual restaurant and tell them what they want and how they want it with special instructions. they’re the ones making and packing the food…i don’t understand . that has nothing to do with the driver nor is it your problem

New idea for next Door Dash program. Dashers will no longer receive trash offers if acceptance rate is at least 50%. They should offer this program.
