    Amazing that this video is a thousand times better than all of the videos made by shiftpod. They are a joke. Thank you for making this.

    Everyone seems to ignore these shelters can last a year in the sun without problems.
    Yes, a fishing tent is a fraction of the cost, but durability waivers.
    Tents start to lose durability and water resistance after 20 days of direct sunlight, leading to having to reseal them, tears, fixing tears, or replacing your tent (after 3 equally sized tent replacements, you're looking at the cost of ONE shift pod on special).
    I have the mini, and it grew on me. I preferred my gazelle t4, but I ended up enjoying the shift pod way more.
    You can feel it's more rugged.
    The poles don't easily collapse in the wind.
    No bugs got in (surprising because there's holes in the corner no one talks about), which I think is due to the extensive liner at the bottom.
    The black out material allowed me to sleep better.
    Less noise due to insulation.
    Very cozy.

    How do you define Expedition Shelter?
    I think this is the PERFECT Expedition Shelter: to me that you have the best thing I've ever seen in my life for all four seasons in review how to summer or the coldest winter.
    I invented a subsurface Rocket Stove Earthen Thermal Mass Heating System and I was planning to Showcase it in an Ice Fishing Shelter and my favorite was the Otter Vortex Pro Resort.
    One reason because it was hexagonal closest to round to Sheer high winds, they have a skirt for putting a rocks dirt sandbags ice snow on to keep the air out, it has a full door which I think shift pod will go to possibly anyway, nope, just remember to have one where you open up the whole side so I just remember Christian saying that can wheel two gurneys in at once. So forget my full door thing yeah just put the vestibule on!
    All the other thing I liked about the otter is it was about a hundred square feet which I think is like perfect a good size shelter plenty of room but also small enough to heat with my subsurface heating system.
    I think I can heat... Actually, I was thinking about my smallest possible model proof of concept heating system I have all the parts for that right now and I'm in the process of setting it up under a small ice fishing shelter. But, I KNOW that's big enough to heat even a large hundred foot square foot tent so if I upscale it made it up to where it'll heat up 50 ft diameter shelter - Yurt, Tipi, Geodesic Dome, etc, I could do that easily!!!

    Looks cool. However, you put down the tarp but when you zip the floor in at 1:15 you are on grass. Did the grass eat it?

    • @howtogetoutofbabylon8978

      Good question. He said it was his first time sending it up and he's trying to do video for everybody so everybody sees it and my guess would be that they either moved it they're very light you can drag it anywhere or they filmed that part on a different day. Maybe they didn't get to it the first day or forgot about it and they wanted to show the floor being zipped in from the start.
      Pretty easy to figure out that he is not trying to be dishonest etc.

  • @Vanpotheosis
    @Vanpotheosis 5 лет назад +2

    I have a more important question: does your unit have holes at every corner where the floor meets the walls? I noticed that on my unit there's 2-4 inch holes where the stitching just stops. You can stick your fingers through the holes and reach the ground. And these holes aren't very high off the floor...
    How does it keep water out?And how is it going to keep bugs from crawling into the tent?
    I've never bought a tent designed to have huge holes in it before... I'm returning this because some of the stitching is actually an issue and is ripping out, but I'm really hoping that I don't get my unit back with the holes in the corners. If it's designed that way there's no way I could recommend it or feel satisfied owning it.

    • @TheGlampGuru
      @TheGlampGuru  5 лет назад

      Mine def. does not have holes in the corners and yes return it.

    • @howtogetoutofbabylon8978
      @howtogetoutofbabylon8978 2 года назад

      Florida Gonzales comment from one year ago says yes it does have a hold of the corners but no bugs got in there they're still happy with it. just deal with it some other way. Not a deal breaker for me at least it shouldn't be because of the super high quality of the materials and every other aspects of the high quality of materials the design and the constant improvement.
      I but by one just to support the company for what they've done around the world instead of whining. Just Saying:-(

      They also have what's it called a blast shield and you can always put a tarp over it I think they have a rainfly system for it I'm not sure.
      I WANT one in the worst way, because I invented a heating system that will heat A LARGE tent /Shelter.
      It is a subsurface Rocket Stove Earthen Thermal Mass Heating System.

    I love the idea of the ShiftPod Hub Tents. I was ecstatic when I first saw their promotion videos, so excited at the time saved setting & taking down camp, no more back pain, more time for enjoying camping instead of working at camping, etc but then I saw the price. $1200 is just beyond my ability. I tried to contact their marketing person with idea's that they suggest I contact them about, but they did not reply.

      There are some differences, especially for hot climates. I do agree that the pricing is a big road block for those that want to get into one of these pods but dont have the budget. I think most people love shiny things (me!) and thats why they continue to sell! Yes, I do know why its shiny... so you can find it in crowded camp ground duh.
