I took mine apart and custom installed it after some testing, i hard wired it because it was running the batt flat. A good little device and impressed with the circuit board quality. EDIT i have the OBD2 model
Thanks for the great review. One thing to note is that even though it uses a mini-USB port, it seems like is expecting 12-14 volts. Unless there are smarts in the lighter plug (which I kind of doubt), it is expecting automobile voltage, not 5 volts, through the USB connector. The "straight through" wiring is what lets the unit report auto battery voltage. I suspect this unit will not work at all if you plug it into a standard USB port. Thanks much for the comprehensive review!
Where can I find the link to order this? I have so much glare on my speedometer screen on my Avalon and have a problem not having my eyes on where I’m going as I’m trying to check my speed. I love one of these. Great review. Thank you!
I bought it just for the digital compass. Believe it or not I had a tough finding a decent, smaller, non-bulky unit and this one fits the bill. Good video.
Hello man! Great video, subscribed and liked. I have a question. I bought this, and when I turn engine off it shows a static text I think it says "HUD Head up Display". Just that. Screen doesn't go completely black. Is that how it's supposed to be when it's in Sleep Mode? Just a static text? Or should it go fully black screen? I am afraid it might not be in Sleep Mode?
Is there an app associated? I’d like to know if you could view the GPS location in real-time from your phone? That would be awesome. How on earth is this going to keep track of vehicle info if no OBDII connection?
ALL car speedos are between 4 and 7% below limits set at the factory so setting it to ur speedo makes it as inaccurate as ur speedo by 4 to 7% ......the GPS reading is more accurate than ur actual speedo, ur speedo cud be reading 45mph but actual speed on the road is less so the GPS is accurate and precise......
TheStruggleville ok cool because i have a 3rd gen camaro that has no obd (obviously) and cigarette socket doesnt work plus i would rather run it to accessory anyway
I guess it depends on the purpose you need one in the first place. If your existing speedometer isn't working than it could be a problem within the computer system so buying an OBD2 one might not help. Also if your existing speedometer is wrong because of changing the tire size for example than the OBD2 would be wrong also. Assuming the vehicle is fully operational the OBD2 one could be better, you dont have to rely on a GPS signal.
Sold! Thanks for the video, amazon didn't give a very good description, but you gave a great one
Thanks

Great review. Just ordered one for my golf cart.
Nice PJ for $32 not a bad deal. Can't wait to see you use it in the Caprice and see those quarter mile times yeah baby.

Cool im getting one, no fuel hand so this allows me to easy calculate gas mileage via distance feature!! Awesome sauce
can you use it as a Speedometer without GPS...??

Can you reset the milage trip computer each time when you put fuel in ?

Hi, does it have extra io ports left to use to indicate gear and turn signal lights indicators and gear?
Ordered one, thanks.
Thanks very much friend awesome video I’m going to order one
Does it save setting after it’s unplugged? Like when you adjusted the speed setting to 102%
I'd like to put this on my golf cart. Can it handle 48v?
Did u ever wire it directly to the accessories? Need a little help
I don't remember the end on this but if its a mini usb you can use a dash cam installation kit like this - amzn.to/306Dz31 (affiliate)

Moon Pie hi, dose it always need to be plugged in if u want to use it?
Moon Pie oh I can’t buy it then I wanted to put it on my go kart :(
Why do want an extra speedometer? I use mine for compass and voltage meter.
I got mine plug it up and it don't work tried all my plug in don't even turn on i don't know if the plug in bad or the wire
Is it accurate at low and high speed as well?
I dont know how high you are talking but its been accurate up to at least 80 for me
@@TheStruggleville Thanks! Did you compare it to the OBD version?
Great video, I’m just surprised why you don’t mention the product details to make it easy to order it !
They have an OBD2 version, would that be better than the GPS?

TheStruggleville cool thanks for the reply. I'll try the OBD2 one
@@TheStruggleville the can use with out gps?
The GPS speedo will be more accurate than the car speedo. Car speedo +10% -0. So your GPS was correct from the box.
But gps Speedo still has lag
@@BlackJeepConvertible yes. But that doesn't matter if you hold the speed fairly steady.
This thing is awesome, using it on my boat!
Thats a great use for it 👍
TheStruggleville dose it have to be plugged in
Very cool speedometer
I don't want the speedometer, etc. I just want an accurate stand alone compass. Hard to find.
will it work with a 2007 honda fit/jazz sport?
It uses GPS so it will work with anything that moves
@@TheStruggleville ok thanks
Can it be use on a motorcycle?
Sure, don't see why not
Google Maps on your Android phone does the same thing for free and without any cords, except for the voltage.
will it work on Toyota camry 1996 model
Yep
Do you use the car
mine not founding satellite why???
I just ordered mine, reply to this comment to remind me to post a review.
How was it?
He crashed 😭
@@onelooongboi5838 four years later still working good 😅 honestly I love it since my car lacks the feature
@@mattporter5741 worth buying for the price , it lags for the first minute while it calibrates then you are good to go.
