Great videos! We have been property owners in Mountain Village for many years. Often new visitors get confused, as the Town of Telluride (the old 1800s gold-mining town) and Mountain Village (the ski resort area above Telluride) are often just commonly called “Telluride”. The FREE gondola connecting them is a joy to ride, but PLEASE NOTE that the gondola has scheduled, lengthy times in the spring and fall when the whole,system is closed for maintenance. At these times, both Telluride and MV are sparsely populated and some restaurants are also closed because of that. So, before you go, make sure the gondola will be in operation when you want to go. The town of Telluride is fantastic, but MV is where most of the lodging is. There are many good restaurants at each location, and since the gondola connects them with a fun scenic ride of only 16 minutes, they are all considered one location. Whether skiing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, rafting, Jeeping or camping, you will love Telluride.
It constantly amazes me that in all the videos I've watched on Mountain Village that not one of them shows or talks about Tom Boy Tavern or Crazy Elk Pizza. They are just as much a part of Mountain Village as anything else is. I'm really frustrated by this!
