    Thanks, this was a fantastic video. All of the additions and cuts were explained very well! I never thought I'd say this as a grown man, but I can't wait to get me some faeries!!!

    This was an extremely high quality breakdown of the new deck and covered everything important. Also, it made me chuckle a couple times. Thank you

    Amazing breakdown, this is definitely the style of deck I’m building with this precon.

    If you build Alela I highly recommend EDHRECs page of Nymris, oonas trickster. Pretty much same playstyle in the same color. Thats why my suggestions for Alela are: Rewind, unwind and a mana rock that untaps itself in every opponents turn: victory chimes

    • @brianpendleton2674
      @brianpendleton2674 9 месяцев назад

      Built around these untaps myself and also cloud of faeries can go infinite using cloudstone curio and either archmage of Echoes or Reflections of littjara + lands that tap for more than one mana.
      Did not know the mana rock though, thanks for the tip.

    Thank you so much for this specific breakdown! I was definitely more excited for Alela when I saw the deck, but people were covering Tegwyll mostly from what I was seeing! Can't wait to try some of the changes you suggested :D

    I use unwinding clock and sword of feast and famine in my nymris deck. I like tapping low and untapping my mana. Feels more daring but pays off most of the time.

    Great content so just subbed! Really helpful to see your suggestions. I’ll make a few tweaks to stay 100% fully in faerie flavortown, but looking forward to getting my hands on this deck.

    Love the upgrades. Would like to see you make a deck with Hylda of the Icy Crown. Great work as always.

    First of all, thank you very much for that Precon Guide. I bought that Precon because I just love Faeries and it's my reentry Deck for MTG after a couple of years of abstinence from the Game.
    Now to my Question. You mentioned 5 Cards in your Bonus Section. If I had these cards, which Cards should I cut for them?

  • @jayjayhooksch1
    @jayjayhooksch1 Год назад +1

    Cool build! I also went with Riptide Laboratory and Venser. I also agree with all but 2 of your cuts.
    Nettling Nusiance is very often creating 3 tokens a turn. They cant block each other so they deal damage or trade for actual creatures.
    Nettling Nusiance could be outputting 12 hasty power the first turn its down and 15 each turn thereafter. I think its one of the few wincons in the 99 and fits with the goad mechanic on Alela, which is what I built around; Misleading Signpost/Portal Mage recursion and Propaganda effects with Bident of Thassa and similar effects.
    I also think that depending on your build, Shadow Puppeteers is just Craterhoof Behemoth and is a great wincon. I noticed your upgrades included a lot of non-flyers, so I can see why you cut it, but in my build 80% of creatures fly.
    Cheers and thanks for the content!

    • @JParnellMTG
      @JParnellMTG  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I agree that Nettling Nuisance is great. it was my last cut, and will probably make it back in the deck when something doesn't measure up to my expectations.

    Very interesting upgrades. Talion, The Kindly Lord would work well with Telepathy. I will upgrade quite a few of my lands as well. Thank you for the video.

    I want to build this with the uncommon as the commander. Lucky for me, I have all the really good cards for this deck. Mana Drain, Flusterstorm, Bitterblossom, Vampiric Tutor, Mystical Tutor, Fetch lands, other dual lands, etc.. Man, we need to figure out this algorithm out and get your sub count up!

    • @JParnellMTG
      @JParnellMTG  Год назад +2

      If you have all that, those cards all work extra well with the Alela Flash version!

      Had to come back as it's release week. I did buy the Faerie deck and I must say, it's quite an incredible amount of value for $40. Also I totally played Alela as my commander and barely tweaked it with 5 new cards, never drew any of them, and destroyed my friends in the first and second games. I can't believe how well it runs.@@JParnellMTG

    Dang yeah bitterblossom is probably my no1 favorite card in all of magic also. A faerie tribal has always been a goal of mine, and now is the perfect time with a good precon, all the new faerie support in eldraine, and 2 awesome new bitterblossom artworks. Pretty exited.

  • @Abraktil

    i was thinking about checking the price of the deck just buying singles because i already have like a third of the deck, and i dont really like where the $ value is put. I really like your upgrade thinking and because you cut just more cards among the new one, i think i will go down this way, but still i have to check.
    To WOTC : if the deck was 30 ish euros/dollars like it was not so long ago then it would have been a no brainer, and you would get 30 euros from me instead of maybe 0 and maybe 60 as i would consider buying both....

    • @edh_alters7116
      @edh_alters7116 Год назад

      Yeah I mean $40+ for a precon isn't very attractive. It's not like it's Commander 2016/2017 power level. Those decks warranted that price point as they were standalone products.

    If I have Alela and one token in the Battlefield: Can I cast Tegwylls Scouring like it Had flash?
    Say that you would like to cast it, creating a token with Alela and then tapping two Tokens and Alela?

    • @JParnellMTG
      @JParnellMTG  Год назад +1

      Great question! You do have to already have to meet the requirement to give it flash, you'd need 3 untapped flyers prior to casting it.

  • @surlyfixedcog
    @surlyfixedcog Год назад

    This version of the deck just looks like you’re existing with 1/1s (that sometimes get bigger) while cutting back on the occasional threat.
    I get the build is with a casual table in mind- but I feel like a casual table will get annoyed by the sheer amount of interaction if you’re having a good game or just completely roll over you if you’re not.

    • @JParnellMTG
      @JParnellMTG  Год назад +1

      I think more interaction is great at all levels of power and competitiveness. Lots of 1/1s can go a long way if your opponents have to hit each other too.

    • @surlyfixedcog
      @surlyfixedcog Год назад +1

      @@JParnellMTG thanks for the reply!
      I agree interaction is important- but the deck doesn’t seem to do anything but interact. 1/1s with evasion are great and goad is a super fun mechanic, but I don’t see the deck closing out games. Alela having the “once per turn” and “one or more faeries/per player” text really limits how far you can go and that’s assuming she sticks.
      Cutting Shadow Puppeteers from the precon without finding a replacement seems like running elfball without an overrun effect.

    Can I get ONE deck tech that does Tegwyll??? He's seriously card draw in the command zone and I'm honestly burnt that literally no one has even tried. Everyone is taking the easy route 🙄

    • @JParnellMTG

      Several other comments mentioned the opposite- several deck techs focused on Tegwyll and appreciated that I did Alela.

    So buy the second commander and make an 80% new deck. Got it.

    • @JParnellMTG
      @JParnellMTG  Год назад +14

      The second commander is in the deck already, and the % change of non-land cards is 40% (or 25 cards), which is pointed out in the video.

    • @danbigelow2189
      @danbigelow2189 Год назад +8

      Isn't 25 optional new cards objectively better information than 5-15? The deck will still function without any upgrades. For me these videos are sort of just a reminder of cards that have synergy with the deck, and to see what other peoples thoughts are with the general direction of the upgrades.

    • @Unnonamus
      @Unnonamus Год назад +3

      More like use the alt commander that’s included, and also check out these other synergistic includes. What’s the point of your comment?
