    FAQs??
    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How much yarn do I need?
    Unfortunately, I will be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

    I am so grateful for these videos! I am a lefty and have found most things difficult! These videos, however are slow and explain every step throughly. I first learned how to crochet as a girl guide, and my troop leader was also left handed! I lost the ability to crochet over the years and have recently decided to refresh my skills. Thank you for your helpful videos!!

    left hand and a visual of the stitches!! I have had a hard time finding an actual visual of which loops to continue the crochet after the first row. I have been crocheting into the back loop, or the front loop, and neither looked right!! And now I see it's because I needed to include both. THANK YOU!!

    I'm back! As a left handed person, thank you so much for your videos again! I have a question. Can I use this stitch to make a laptop pouch? How do I tie the edges if I do so? Thank you, Bella Coco!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 года назад +1

      You're welcome! 😊 Yes, you could use this for a laptop pouch. You can simply sew the sides together, or work a row of double crochet along them (I would do this with the right sides facing together so you can flip it the right way afterwards, with the seams hidden inside.

    My 85 year old mum who is also left handed tried teaching me to crochet and had really hard time doing it. She had to teach herself as no one could teach her either, this was years ago before the invention of computers and internet. It’s almost as if crocheting was invented only for right handed people. Told her I’ll go to RUclips and see if there’s a tutorial. Thank you so much for this! Everything looks “normal” to me with you doing it left handed. When I see right handed people crocheting, it looks awkward and uncomfortable.

    I'm a little lost -- I wish this showed the completion of a few additional rows, because I'm not sure what to do at the end of each row as you build more. When you get to the end of row 3 (and 5, 7, 9, etc.) do you just do a stitch and turn the work as you did with row 1? And then, regarding the stitch that was done into the bottom corner at the end of row 2 -- does something like that get done at the end of every even-numbered row?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  5 месяцев назад

      After completing row two you're simply repeating that same row until you reach the size you want; it doesn't matter whether it's an odd or even numbered row, it will work up the same 😊

    This tutorial is absolutely amazing! I have been trying to learn how to crochet for the longest time but always had problems learning due to lefty issues. Following this video is the first time I have ever been able to finish anything other than a chain with any successful results. I was a little confused about when to throw in the stitch before flipping it to start a new row (mine seemed to lose the defined edges), but besides this, I had no questions at all. Everything was well explained and gave plenty of time to grasp the concept (with multiple reps) before moving on. Thank you so much for completing these. I can't wait to go watch the other ones!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 года назад

      I would make sure you have the same number of stitches each row, and that you aren't skipping any by mistake. It could be due to tension, which will improve the more you practise. Crochet does have a tendency to curl at first too, so you may find that after working a few more rows, it begins to lay flatter 😊

    This is my very first try and I cant get passed the loop thing where you make the chain for the first time mine won't do right and im already frustrated!! I was so excited this is my first day and I was waiting to get my stuff and im stuck!! 😭🥺

    • @bellacococrochet

      You have to remember that crochet is practice and patience, don't give up keep trying and it will get easier. If you find yourself getting frustrated put your work down and go back to it later or even the next day. Good luck :)

    I am really struggling with this, I can do the first line fine but the second line is tricky, I have taken it out and started again 10 times I don't know what I am doing wrong

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Год назад

      It can be tricky to get the hang of at first but don't give up 😊 The second row looks different to the first as you're working into actual stitches, instead of chain stitches. When you look at them from the top you should see each stitch makes a V shape; you need to insert your hook underneath each V 😊

    Ahh this is a lifesaver as a beginner lefty! I had a quick question, does the initial row of chains count as a row that would need to be turned afterwards, or does the turning only begin after that first row of dc?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  Год назад

      You don’t need to turn after your chains as your hook is already in the correct position to work along them; you just need to turn at the end of the row once you’ve began working actual stitches 😊

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  7 месяцев назад

      I’d make sure you have the correct number of stitches for each row; it’s easy to skip a stitch or work a stitch into the same space by accident. It helps if you use stitch markers to mark out each stitch at first too 😊

      The way I show you how to hold the yarn in the video is just a guide and I would really recommend experimenting and trying different ways to see what suits you best. If you find you're pulling too tightly you can try and relax your grip, and also going up a hook size may help you. Remember that it takes practise and patience to learn a new skill so don't give up 😊

    How do you know what hole you have to go through

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  5 лет назад +1

      When you are working into the chain, you need to insert the hook through each little circle. When you are working actual rows, you need to look at the top of the piece to see a 'v' shape, and this is what you should be inserting your hook under. Hope this helps! 🙂
