I just spent 2 weeks in Macedonia and travelled through Serbia... and as far as I can judge it: south of Belgrade, the country becomes more and more beautiful... I will definitely spend some holidays there... only bothering thing is: the bordercrossing between Serbia and Hungary is nervewrecking... took me 8 hours... Thank you for sharing these great videos!
Yes, that border has become awful lately! Try to avoid the crossing on the motorway. There are smaller ones not far from there and it pays to make the small detour, cus it goes much faster all in all. Welcome to Serbia! 😊☀️
i will visit Serbia in the very near future... it seems a fantastic country and the people there (as far as I can judge what I have seen) are so lovely...@@real_orthodox
There have been a lot of problems around Serbian-Hungarian border past few years because of illegal migrations. Mainstream media isn't really reporting much about it, but people should be wary of the issues.
Roadtrip to Serbia with my Bulgarian road crew this weekend Negotin Bor danube area.............cant wait, absolutely loving the Serbia series videos thank you for sharing
Staring at someone's face and smiling if you don't know that person is considered impolite in Serbia. That's why no one pays attention when they pass by you. However, if you ask anyone for help, everyone will be very kind and assist you in every possible way.
This makes sense. For us, it took some getting used to... but after a month or so of road-tripping-- we made a lot of friends! It's true that you say- Serbian people will help you in every possible way.
@@JetLagWarriors My opinion is if you say dobar dan, with a smile, to any passerby in your building, I am positive you will get a smile back and the same response. Also if you are walking through a village and you see anyone in their yard, if they notice you, you should say dobar dan to them, they will dobar dan you back. Who knows maybe you will end up talking to them, or even get invited for a rakija, cup of coffee and some homemade cookies or cake. I am glad to see you enjoying Serbia, it's natural beauties and people. And also thankful for crushing the stereotype and how we are perceived as a nation.
Definitely true. I lived in Switzerland for some time. They are all smiling and sending "Hello" in the streets in your neighbourhood, but OMG, what a cold and xenophobic nation!
You presented Serbia beautifuly.Serbia is a beautiful country. It has an old history, a lot of historical monuments, a lot of natural beauty. You are positive, curiors, full of life, you delight us with wonderful videos.
Haters will be haters. There are enough countries and people in the world that hate Serbia.. I'm not saying that Serbia is perfect even there crime and corruption exist.. Just like any country in the world. But what I am trying to say is that. Serbia is often hated by too many countries and too many people in the world for all the wrong reasons . Serbia has much more to offer in terms of natural parks, culture and history and Above all good food, what many people dont realize who have never been there. Although I was not born in Serbia itself. But fortunately because of the fact that both my parents are Serbs. And I was brought up Serbian at home. I consider myself much more Serb. Instead of origin of the country in which I was born. RUclips travel vloggers like Jet Lag Warriors.. Are one of the many reasons to be even more proud of my roots.

Hello Ivana and Steve thank you for our photos videos that you include us, you've mention the Serbian & Filipina couples .. We're glad that you and your wife been here in beautiful historic country Serbia ..Well done 👏❤🤗
In my experience the people who warn against visiting a place have never been there. Making the effort to visit a place that is not a standard tourist destination will be reciprocated by the locals. I was visiting Serbia a lot in the 90s when hostility towards a westerner would have been understandable, but I experienced none at all. Belgrade is a very safe city. A tip, when raising your glass with a local, look them in the eye when you say "Ziveli!" That makes a great impression.
I am Serbian, I was surprised u said we are "cold", it's more of "not interested to bother entertaining another crazy person". I am glad u liked the food and nature here 🥰 U should go to lots of different kafana (idi u kafane) and check "pečenje" - praseće, jagnjeće, ovčije, repovi itd (depends on what u like). Also u should try pies like gibanica and burek. If u have the opportunity I would recommend visiting different parts of Serbia to see really gorgeous lakes, caves, forests, mountains, cats etc. 😂 I wanna keep the comment short, this is already too long and vague
Thank you guys to explore that 1% of Serbia and present it on most beautiful (realistic) way. You know ur always welcome here and that you guys have real friends here no matter of time... Wish u a best luck and see u soon 🎉🎉🎉
Oh Ovcar Banja is a small but beautiful place... Check for the local creek in the forest, there are also several monasteries around it and if you have a lot of energy and will, you can go hiking to the peak of Kablar, nice views from up there
Come to Republika Srpska as well. Republika Srpska is an entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 49% of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs to the Serbs who live there. There are also beautiful places and the people are equally kind. You have a lot to see. The same people live here and in Serbia. Slavic peoples were converted under the conquerors to their religions such as Islam (Ottoman Empire) and Catholicism (Germany World War II, Austria-Hungary World War I). Serbs live there who have not sold their religion for dinner. That's how they say it here, unlike our neighbors. Although they suffered many crimes, they remained Orthodox Christians. This is why it is said that Serbs are the people of Jesus. Of course, don't think that we have anything bad against other religions, but you can feel discomfort with today's Bosniaks and Croats, so don't get confused. Everyone of any religion is welcome with us. Serbs are a very nice people, but quite destroyed because every generation has been at war here. God grant that there will be no more wars, but if there are, this people will defend their religion again. We simply do not want other people's land, but we do not give our own. All the best, many greetings to you ❤️
You are a great example of chauvinist Serbian. Republika Srpska does not belong to Serbians, it belongs to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You only have exclusive right to hold a trophy for genocide.
@@attilazabos846 my dear friend, I see that you are Hungarian. At your position I would never talk about things that I dont know. Anglo-german-croats and muslims propaganda is so strong and as about Iraq, Lybia, Wietnam, Afganistan, South America crimes, and today in Ukraina war. Have good dream.

Sooo I discovered you guys about a week ago, and I basically binge watched the whole Serbia series and I’ve done it with a big grin on my face! It’s so cool to see you enjoy the little things around here. We’re quite a poor country, there really isn’t a whole lot to see, but you don’t seem to care about the rich and fancy. Watching you try riblja čorba, pečenje (the pork you ate) and rakija from completely drunk ass shirtless Serbs partying in the woods, and then clearly enjoying the absolute madness of that Drina river party - the most authentic Serbian experiences that I believe you could have had - and watching you genuinely like it, is, first of all, extremely entertaining and hilarious, but secondly, makes me so happy for some reason! 🥹 I’m glad your experience was so positive, it’s actually surprising considering how many drunk people you encountered, since drunk Serbs are… well, something else! I am still new to the channel so I have no idea how long you’re going to stay here, but when it comes to food you should try ”teletina (or jagnjetina if you prefer lamb) ispod sača” for lunch, it’s my absolute favorite meal and is authentic for Serbia. As far as alcoholic drinks go, you absolutely should try the ”Rubin vinjak”, it’s a very important national drink here, and since you somehow liked rakija I belive you’d like this even better! Rakija is a little… heavy. 😂 Vinjak is tasty! It will be served in any type of restaurant, but you can also buy it at all supermarkets as well as most corner shops. You’ll definitely be able to try it at the wedding you’re going to as well. You might be served pečenje properly at the wedding as the main meal. Anyway! Obviously there’s always more that you can try, but teletina ispod sača and vinjak, it would be a shame to miss it! Good luck guys, these videos are amazing, such fun and wholesome content! Keep it up!
We are not quite poor country. There are some poor people as in every country in this world, and some parts prosper more than the others but we are not “quite” poor. Kinda sad when people portray us like a poor nation. Also there is a lot to see in Serbia, from great mountains to very long and interesting history. Also one of the oldest civilizations lived in Serbia 🙌
@@nemanjamilunovic2393 Nemanja, we're a poor nation. 🙂 Being poor is an objective measure, it has nothing to do with my feelings towards my country. I love my people, I respect my people, my city. But we're poor. And there isn't a lot to see. If you go to more developed countries that weren't destroyed multiple times in a row by bombings, wars and occupations, you'll see what it means to have "a lot" to see. We have a couple national parks that are actively being destroyed, sold and neglected by the government. We have several short pretty streets in our capital city, a museum and half, one temple and churches. There is no investment into arts and culture, it is rigged in a way that it is extremely difficult to make a film, a TV series, even a documentary. Artists are truly "starving" here, actors and screenwriters have absolutely no future in this country. Our average salary is embarassingly low, and most people are "employed" illegally because the employer is being screwed over by the government. Our businesses are massively failing. Our land is being sold, our water, our nature, it's all being sold and privatized. Most big businesses sold. The farmer can't earn back the money they invest into having a farm by selling the goods. It is becoming impossible to grow and sell food. Who are we kidding here..? We are poor. That is exactly why I appriciate it when people come here to actually enjoy the little things we have to offer.

Serbia loves all people, we are the least limited people in terms of racism and nationalism, we love all races, all nationalities, of course there are idiots among us who will deny it, but most of us love all the people around us. But we don't forget the bombing and the Americans are not all to blame, your government then is, we don't forget and we return for that as the beginning Nikola Jokic and Novak Djokovic conquered all American dreams, later we will also conquer the American government from the shadows. This is just what it's like to live in a high trust society. I work in the United States but am from Croatia, and I long to go back home. Here in the United States there is no feeling of safety, brotherhood, or national unity like how we have back home. What you are describing is how life is everywhere in the Balkans - but nowhere in America.

Maybe would be easier for you to write it and pronounce it as Ovchar banja. CH - is pronounced exactly like our letter "c" , like Guca (there should be a "cap" on top of it, but I can't type it, since I only have latin letters on my laptop :-)) That river in Ovcar banja is Zapadna Morava. And Drina is also one of the most beautiful jewels. As well as all other destinations in your video. I like your setup, especially can of Jelen beer. Also, cevapi, raznjici and vegetables. Sljivovica is one of the most important beverages in Serbia. :-) To me it is. God bless both of you and thank you for this beautiful presentation of my country. Greetings from Beograd.
Yeah, I would agree with this sentiment! It was hard to describe in the video... but people tend to say that Slavic people are cold, and we wanted to show our experience that Serbian people were very friendly to us.
07:23 You eat grilled meat without onions? OMG. That is unforgivable in Serbia, regardless of whether you will kiss tonight... No grill is complete without onion, or onion tomato salad, that's the minimum.

Great video, thank you. We here love to complain (myself included) and that is not ungrounded in most cases, especially in Belgrade and other larger towns (dirty, overcrowded, polluted, expensive, etc.). I therefore am really glad you liked it here and that you enjoyed the positives. The reason for my comment is "safety". For all the future visitors - Serbia is a very safe country. I have never been robbed or assaulted here (45 years). Even when I forgot my wallet a few times in public space - I always found it untouched later. Never even been in a dangerous situation. Of course, if you look for troubles you will find it for sure, but in general, you don't have to worry.
Some youtuber American tourists did a research into danger statistics before going to Serbia and were shocked to find out you are 5 times more likely to get brutally murdered for no reason in America, 3 times more likely to get robbed and 10 times more likely to experience serious violence during your stay in America. It's a strange strange world we live in...
Its not strange at all if you have looked into americas homelessness problem. Serbian people live mostly by orthodox christian family values. There are so few homeless people that in smaller cities theyre all well know and for the most part wont harm anyone they just want their alchohol or whatever. Family will almost always have your back here, in america i have heard stories that go something like as soon as i was 18 my parents kicked me out. Over here thats unthinkable, it would never happen. Unless you have personal problems with a person there arent too many people with a reason to be violent towards you. Ghettos arent really a thing either, sure gypsy ghettos exist but theyre on the outskirts and theres pretty much no reason to visit them. But even if you did chances are you would be fine.
So true, we’ve traveled true a few States in America and was pretty afraid walking true some parts of Chicago and LA, also some smaller country towns where we even went to the cinemas with the locals, manly young African American and I was quite scared thinking what the hell possessed us to go out at night to the cinema with that crowd where everyone knew that we do not belong there!!! 😂😂😂
I'm foreigner that's been living in the country for well over a decade. I walk to and from work. In the mornings I'll often see many young kids 6'ish plus (in terms of age) ... walking to school by themselves. Late at night I'll see young teen girls walking alone or sitting on a park bench ... alone. I've never felt safer or more welcomed anywhere.
I am happy you had a chance to enjoy Drina and nature in general. I hope that planned lithium mining will never happen, it would be fatal for Drina river and its surroundings.
Imho the main reason why Serbia isnt really known or popular for its nature is because most of it is in eastern/south eastern part of the Serbia which in general isnt really popular destination, even among Serbians from other parts of the country. But you can also make an argument that is the reason why nature is the best in those parts because it isnt urbanized.
I leave in small town near Nis,called Prokuplje. Just wanted to ty for great videos about Serbia! And bro yesterday my cat killed snake too,i was suprised just like you :D I guess our cats love snakes :D I wish you all best,God bless you !

i will visit Serbia in the very near future... it seems a fantastic country and the people there (as far as I can judge what I have seen) are so lovely...@@real_orthodox
There have been a lot of problems around Serbian-Hungarian border past few years because of illegal migrations. Mainstream media isn't really reporting much about it, but people should be wary of the issues.
Yeah crossing Horgoš is always a nightmare haha, can't wait until they build the Budapest-Belgrade railway.

Serbia has much more to offer in terms of
natural parks,
culture
and history
and Above all good food,
what many people dont realize
who have never been there.
Although I was not born in Serbia itself.
But fortunately because of the fact that both my parents are Serbs.
And I was brought up Serbian at home.
I consider myself much more Serb.
Instead of origin of the country in which I was born.

I am glad u liked the food and nature here 🥰
U should go to lots of different kafana (idi u kafane) and check "pečenje" - praseće, jagnjeće, ovčije, repovi itd (depends on what u like).
Also u should try pies like gibanica and burek. If u have the opportunity I would recommend visiting different parts of Serbia to see really gorgeous lakes, caves, forests, mountains, cats etc. 😂
I wanna keep the comment short, this is already too long and vague

I’m glad your experience was so positive, it’s actually surprising considering how many drunk people you encountered, since drunk Serbs are… well, something else!
Keep it up!
Thanks for this great comment! Welcome to our channel :) .
We will look our for Vinjak. Thanks again!
Being poor is an objective measure, it has nothing to do with my feelings towards my country.

You did the greatest research on Serbia
I'm so glad you guys a re back in Serbia. Ziveli
Thank you for kind words, it is easy to become brothers here.
Thanks a million!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Minimum effort, maximum fun! That's what Serbia offers to tourists, and it's the best part about it. 🤩🤩🤩😀

preljepo, pozz iz hrvatske
Imho the main reason why Serbia isnt really known or popular for its nature is because most of it is in eastern/south eastern part of the Serbia which in general isnt really popular destination, even among Serbians from other parts of the country. But you can also make an argument that is the reason why nature is the best in those parts because it isnt urbanized.
