    Thank you for this series, it was informative and a delight to watch. I would never have thought of tackling something like this but the way you broke it down has made me think there's no reason not to give it a go. This was a very generous demonstration!

    Thank you for this well filmed series of videos. I have found them very helpful, especially breaking it down into 5 sections, from the pencil sketch to the finished painting. I appreciate how much work must go in to the filming, so thanks to your behind the scenes, camera crew too!

    This is my 2nd time around watching this series for beginners over the last year. I'm always in awe at your natural instinct to pick up and blend colours to achieve tonal values. Rachels camera work is superb, thank you for helping Andrew make these wonderful tutorials...Now I need to pick up my brushes and just give it a go! Thanks again

    Bravo!I love the 'touch the paper only once' idea. It makes so much sense and it makes you more thoughtful and careful as you apply the colours. And I also love how you keep changing up the mixture of colours by returning to palette and adding something else to change the colour mix a little before heading back to the paper. I am so inspired! Very inspirational! :)

    Hi Andrew - Thank you for that wonderful demo. Too advanced for me right now. One of the things I am going to do is set up a palette like yours - I mean the colours. I have too many colours in mine right now and I get all confused when I need to be able to mix quickly and accurately. I like how you try to only paint something once as well. Very exciting demo.

    A point that Hazel Soan makes in 10 Minute Watercolours, is that we should ask ourselves if we’re striving for accuracy or ambiguity and advocates the latter. This allows the viewer to fill in the details themselves. Thanks for this series.

    Thank you for taking the time to encourage others. I particularly like the way you keep the freshness in the picture by just one layer, but my question is how do you judge the tone of the colour to get it right first time? thanks

    • @AndrewPittArtist
      @AndrewPittArtist  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks for getting in touch. A good question. I find the first wash is the hardest to get right because there isn’t anything to compare it with. I try to start with an easy area I am confident I can paint fairly accurately. After that it is a matter of always comparing subsequent tones - are they darker or lighter than the tone I began with. Hope this helps. It is not an exact science and I often get it wrong.
