@@jonhy2x4 It would likely hold up for most gas engines as long as the welds are decent, without welding it is almost useless but I wouldn't trust it on a heavy diesel engine, they can get well over a thousand pounds.

I made chains in 304 stainless steel by soldering the links to use as a snow chain on my koleos 4wd on all 4 wheels and they work without problem, thanks for the idea
if you put the base in the oven and pins in the freezer you can just drop them right in and after everything gets to ambient temp they will be in there for good
@@nobody-yu4cf Hey thats your opinion I was a machinist and tool maker for 30 years and fabricator any one with basic skill in physics knows you heat metal it expands and cooling shrinks it it worked pretty good for us over the years but i wont argue with just everyone has a different opinion
I am always amazed that people can mark and cut pieces with a sharpie and make them fit. We always use a carbide scribe to mark cuts on anything small enough for one person to pick up.

This is a dangerous idea...... Chain needs to be made of certain alloys that can stretch and return to their normal sizes over repeated use
