I was 13 years old when on oneida lake in upstate NY I landed a 30" eye from the shore. The scene was so much like this. Every fisherman gathering around and some taking photos and eventually us releasing it. I'm 34 years old now and that fish has been mentioned every year I've been alive since. Congrats on a lifetime fish catch 🎉🎉
I'm stoked to see someone else releasing big walleye. Most local guys in my area would eat that fish no questions asked. I've caught 4 fish in the past 2 years over 30 inches from the Ohio including a 12 lb slob. I turned them all back in hopes that they will pass on those genetics another year or two before they wind up on someone's dinner plate! Good work! Awesome fish!
Nice fish brother! I caught my first 30" on a 4" Storm Wildeye swimshad on Lake Wisconsin. Then two years in a row 1st cast 10:45 at night 3 weeks after ice out.31" on a 3" Pink ice Flashfoil swimshad. Congratulations btw turned all 3 loose as well. Get you some of the 4" Storm Wildeye swimshad in Bluegill color!
Add 2 lbs to that girl had you caught her in the spring. I caught a 31 and a quarter inch female back in April of 2000 near red wing on the miss. She was 13.6 and full of eggs. Love fishing that shallow sundown bite esp in fall. Good job on the release and respect for the fish.
Wow man...very NOICE!!! An absolute MUY GRANDE!!! Got a little tense there when everybody was trying to help you land it with their stone hands...LOL! Congratulations man...great fish👍
@@absoluteunitmediaI caught a 32 1/2 in 13lb 12oz walleye this spring here in Iowa. If you have a way for me to send a pic I would love to share it with you
BIG FEMALE, Those are pretty common here on the South Shore of Lake Erie this time of the yr. A buddy was out last Saturday night fishing off the rocks just west of the mouth of the Cuyahoga River in about 11 ft of water. And he hooked a 13 lb fish that was just a touch over 32 inches. He also put her back, He was just keeps smaller 21"-26" males after Halloween. But the Big Pigs are in the shallows feeding on anything that moves.
Incredible fish! I’ve caught hundreds of walleye from that spot, but nothing close to that. Haven’t fished there in years m- glad it still produces. Congratulations!
Imagine if your whole body weight was hung from a metal hook placed under your jaw in the region of your carotid artery after you just faught with every drop of gas you had in the tank. I would bet even if you could run away after being put down you would be fucked up for life.
No, this one was already in therapy from eating crayfish that pinch at its insides. Plus only 0.040% of its children live beyond age 3. Most are eaten alive by hungry neighbors, and the police do nothing?! @@thylacine123
I'm not easily impressed. But that my friend was beyond impressive what a BEAST ! Congratulations brother thanks for sharing that was an incredible catch !
Solid walleye brother. Caught my PB walleye this fall in WI northwest of Green Bay. Your fish better by 6 inches and about 4-5 pounds. 25 inch guess-timate of 6 pounds.
WOW. Im sure you always imagine how many of those you fish right through but cant trick them lol. Stick baits are true gold, the more time you spend with them, the more you realize its the only lure you need in the dark. Congrats!!
That's crazy, Congratulations! The state record was caught just a few miles down the road from where I live just two years ago. It's crazy to see Walleye that big come from these waters like it's Minnesota or something. I've caught a couple probably in the 24 inch range over the years incidentally while fishing at night for smallmouth. But, judging by the amount I've caught by accident on them I think a 1/2 oz Spinnerbait is a good lure to throw especially in a lake setting. There are times I couldn't keep the eyes off long enough to catch a smallmouth. Awesome fish.
Over the years I have caught a number of walleye that big and bigger while fishing the Bay of Quinte in Ontario Canada during late November - these big fish come into the bay from Lake Ontario - have one mounted on the wall and it always reminds me of the time we caught the fish during a snow squall - we caught 3 that day - all over 12 lbs - had to put salt on the boat ramp to get the boat out of the water -
Congrats! Big female walleye for sure. In the spring she’ll go 13+ easily. I see a handful of eyes caught that size and bigger every year and they never disappoint.
fish of a life time... didnt even think walleyes get that big... never got a Zander this big... and those here in europe get this big more often... congrats!
biggest walleye i've ever seen was caught up here on lake temagami, ontario in one of our traditional gill nets. it was from tail on the ground, tip of the nose was waist high. weighed about 30 pounds. it would have been released, but it was dead in the net.

11-12 pounds is great! Nice fish! I don’t think I realized how spoiled I am living near Lake Erie! I went out with a friend of mine twice who won Walleye Nationals in 2010 (Mike Knippenberg) and we caught a 30 incher and a 9+ pounder out with him! Another time I was trying to night fish in LaDue Reservoir not far from Lake Erie where I spotter a huge walleye swimming slowly in the shallows and I caught it by hand! It was 30.5” and 8.5 pounds! Where were you guys fishing?
Whew bro, my old man had a 30" or so up to within a few feet of the boat up on 3rd Crow Wing Lake in Minnesota, but he thought it maybe weighed about 9-9.5lbs. You caught a true monster bro, fish of a frickin lifetime dude! Congrats

I tried going to shore fish and didn’t have much luck. I’d love to go boat fishing there again. We went once and limited out with about 7 or 8 of us each
congratulations on your catch, and double down on that for the release. It's great to see sportsman like you enjoy the sport and not drain the resource.
