Such an illuminating interview with Malaysian Olympian Cyclist especially on his struggles & his entrepreneur spirit to capitalize to make more money with his hustling ... About the Malaysian culture of giving out medals to every participants of major Runs or Marathons in Malaysia is that , these medals are paid for with their entry cost & Malaysians are more likely to join if there will be a medal of participation to bring home at the end of the Race or Marathon! There will be Special P1 , P2 & P3 Finisher Medals plus winning prizes for the respective Champions! Malaysian sport organisers are getting smart too over the decades! Josiah's Wise Grandma got it right when she adviced Josiah to choose a marketable passion & learn to be master of it & market it to earn a living & expand! Starting them young with passion & love in their choice of passion just like Datuk Lee Chong Wai with badminton , Diego Maradona with football , Michael Jordan with basketball , the Americans & Australians with their swimming & the Bermudians with their Track Running!
Sarawakian here! Thanks for having him over. Epic podcast, amazing speaker and motivator. Great story teller. And strategic marketeer with good networking skills.
I agreed with the last point that Josiah mentioned to monetize on something that you love to do (your passion). Amazing interview and hope to watch the next one :)
This episode is worth to spend on. How Josiah find the way to pursue his passion , and life long lesson for regular workers. Thank you Josiah n mr money for bringing him on the talk show.
Thanks for having Josiah, my childhood sports hero! I remember following his news on chinese newspapers sports section where they got his chinese name wrong as 黄安南 for years and eventually corrected to 伍安临.
Seem that Josiah created Cyclist industry in Malaysia. He is a legend. Do bring him back. I wanna know more on how he turn around after turn OFF just like that..
Amazing podcast. Very inspiring and motivating. As a personal trainer and athlete I’ve learned a lot from Josiah especially about monetizing on something that you love to do. Thank you
Love the broad range of insight on various professions, since there have already been 2 doctors on the show, maybe a highlight on the 2 other 'professionals' such as an engineer or lawyer next?
I know Josiah mentioned this briefly in passing, but he mentioned that he sends his children to Acton Academy, and Acton Academy is actually a really interesting school system, which basically aligns with everything Josiah is preaching in terms of how to raise his kids.
josiah just hit the nail on the head when he said we celebrate mediocrity. we not only do that. we demand that every does it officially with pride. just look at the schools and how teachers teach
Agreed. With regards to schools, I found an amazing learner driven school in BU11 called Acton Academy. My daughters have really thrived with their programme.
Pendidikan Jasmani is a part of our school syllabus, however i notice it is never given a priority. The teacher teaching the PJ is not even a sport person . I always hear my son complaining that there is no PJ for that day because the teacher is busy lah, teacher is absent lah, teacher got meeting lah, school got dancing performance lah, bla bla bla bla. Its like PJ is just a second tier subject that is just there to fill the requirement. For kids, PJ is the most exciting subject for the week. They look forward to PJ day to play. Give some respect to PJ please.
Really loved the episode, and heavily agree with Josiah that culture is out biggest problem. The influencer space is filled with people like this. At least when it comes to creators (be it RUclips or insta or whatever) we don't have a culture of creating for the sake of creating. We have so many KOL/influencers here whose main purpose is to just do ads, instead of people who are passionate about creating, who also happen to be making money. I'd honestly love to see this culture change someday as otherwise the entire country will never rise to it's potential. It's about time we have some big cultural and mindset changes in our country.
@ hahaha it’s ok. I asked because I have roots in Kuching and Penang too. Places that are Hokkien-based! I’m a banana too but I’m thankful I still know Hokkien 😂
The interviewer Is asking Stupid questions.... And Please Do not interrupt.... Just let The Other guy Explain and Finish His Statement.... Bodoh.... 😂😂

Josiah Ng was the first name that made me finally believe we have something to offer to the world level back then in cycling
We're fortunate that momentum built up over the last two decades!

But we just blame government 😂
Josiah cyclist.

Josiah - can you speak Hokkien? Hehe
Unfortunately no. I’m pretty much a banana 😆
@ hahaha it’s ok. I asked because I have roots in Kuching and Penang too. Places that are Hokkien-based! I’m a banana too but I’m thankful I still know Hokkien 😂
Sports in Malaysia don't make money. Only the top tier no 1 makes money from ads.
Now I understand why we haven't had that precious gold medal. Karma is real
And your stupidity is very real too.
Good overview by Josiah of Malaysian sport generally. The host do not let the interview to go the next level. It's a shame. No tattoo please.
Lee Chong Wei is very rich.
Of course, he's the T0.000...1 in the badminton world
So how much did Mr money pay him for this talk?
He belanja me lunch. ☺️
The interviewer Is asking Stupid questions.... And Please Do not interrupt.... Just let The Other guy Explain and Finish His Statement.... Bodoh.... 😂😂
