    For those worried about shortening the battery life with fast charging, the tablet's charging program automatically slows the charging as the charge approaches full, protecting the battery. Lithium batteries stored at the extremes of charge (near 0% or near 100%) will show the most degradation. Having the ability to rapidly increase the charge allows you to store the unit closer to mid-charge because you know you can rapidly bring the charge up prior to use. You always have the option to turn on "battery protection" which will reset your 100% charge reading to 85% of the actual battery storage capacity and limit the "full charge" to 85% (especially useful for those who tend to leave their tablets plugged in.

      Hi Gino, yes it's the Samsung 45W charger. To use super fast charging, the charger needs to have Programmable Power Supply (PPS) support. Double check if your Huawei has PPS, if not, that is the reason why it's not working. The Samsung chargers have PPS, so it works fine with them.

    • @PepisTechsuit
      @PepisTechsuit  4 года назад +4

      I'm not too sure about that. From my use, the tablet doesn't get hot while charging using the 45W charger, so that's a good sign. But if you're worried about that, there's also an option to limit the battery capacity to 85% in the Settings app to extend the lifespan of the battery. For me, the convenience of the 45 W charger speed outweighs the potential hit on the battery lifespan. Plus, the Tab S7 Plus officially supports the 45W charger so I wouldn't be too worried about it!

      @PepisTechsuit  4 года назад +4

      Hi Lance, many articles have shown that the eventual degradation over time is negligible. That's why phone manufacturers design the charging process so that after 80%, the phase in which the battery is most vulnerable to damage, the charging slows down (as shown in the chart at the end of the video). The convenience of half the charge time outweighs the small degradation over time for many people.
