Oh my God I’ve just started with gel nails and I was about to return my lamp because I thought it wasn’t strong enough, I have Googled so much and I never heard the term “moisture layer”. You are a legend! Thank you so much
Using gel polish to seal in some artwork on a project. The piece was under my lamp for a good 3 minutes and was still so sticky. Finally watched this video and oh man! What a life saver! Thank you so much for sharing this! Took an alcohol wipe to it and it's all good. 💕
Oh gosh, TAHNK YOU A LOT, this video deserves much more likes! I discovered by accident when I was about to remove the nail polish on my very first (beginner-noob) application, and I saw that a quick pass with acetone let it drier/non sticky. So, I tried with a product I bought for degreasing nail and then I saw in the instruction that it also works as a wash off for this last layer lol. I didn't understand how it worked and then found this video! I shall try it with alcohol next time :)
Thank you so much for making this video! Literally was so upset I bought a LED lamp and a UV lamp, and thought neither were drying my nails! I just needed to wipe with alcohol. Thank you so much learned everything I needed to know!
Thank you so much for this video. U saved my nails. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong or that my lamp was good. I am so grateful for this video.
You're a queen... I've been struggling and wondering why my soft gel won't fully cure.. Now that you've explained in detail, I get it. Thank you kindly lady ❤️
Omgggggggggggg thank you so much!!! I used gel polish tonight for the first time and must have put it under the lamp over and over for 10 mins or more! It was just the moisture layer!!!! I'm so happy to learn this.
I cannot tell you how greatful i am for your post. I have been trying to figure out what i have been doing wrong. I also think the moisture layer getting on my skin is what has caused 3 allergic reactions. I think i was overexposing my skin to the gel. Just subb'd and i am looking forward to watching more of your vids
One problem solved, now I need to find out why my nails start to come off in only one week no matter how much I dehydrate the nails. I gotta fix this, I don't want to end up back in the nail salon again. Thanks for sharing this tip.
Thank you for explaining everything!! 😭❤️ I’ve been loving the gel polishes and day slayer gel builder, but wasn’t sure if I did it right at first. This was so thorough and helpful! Thank youuuu 😊
Hi! When i wipe the tacy top coat it does leave my nails non sticking but the thing is that it also wipes the shine from my topcoat 🥺 I don’t know why it does that?
Holy frigg tysm! I just bought uv builder gel, the directions said to cure for two minutes, I know with gel polish there's a sticky layer but this was wet wet, was scared I bought a bad product!
Thank you so much for this ❤️ I have builder gel I just want to strengthen my nails I thought something was wrong was about to give up 😐 and then I saw this thanks. 😊
Okay hear me out. I didn’t have rubbing alcohol so I was thinking of stuff around the house with it... I just put vodka on my nails and it removed that sticky layer 🤣
Thanks for that tip..is it normal for the top coat to also have that moisture layer it's like I'm keeping my nails under the lamp for almost half an hour n stil it's not 100% dry
omg thank you so much youre a life saver! i was about to sob last night because my gel polish wouldnt “dry” and ive had them under the lamp for an hour and a half already 😭 i was about to throw my lamp out (its a cheap lamp) but good thing i didnt because it actually works 😂
Thank you very much for the video.i got my nail lamp yesterday and i was so excited to do my nails today.i finish now now to remove the gel polish because it didn't dry well 😭😭😭 and it was mess after i mistakenly touch the wall 😭😭😭.
trying to do my own fill ins during nail salons are closed due to Covid 19. I bought products on line and have my own polish from my nail technician. But don't have a uv light. First attempt was a disaster.. polish remained tacky for hours. Should I be using a regular polish? What tips can you provide?? Help!
bhahaha I got you boo! xoxo But you're not the only one hehe So I'm happy to make this video to better explain things! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! xoxoxo
Marie Balensiefen I would use alcohol 90% of higher. Remover can interact with the product. But if you have nothing else, you can use it but it may soften the product a bit. Just buff it! ❤️❤️
A Marie It could lift right off the nail. The base is meant to be an adhesion layer. I have forgotten before when doing my nails. They don’t last as long and I get lifting.
OK so like my gel nails literally won’t dry at all. I got a really high end UV lamp and my thumb and my index finger won’t dry for some reason I don’t know what to do
Mia Gardner I understand it’s hard to find rubbing alcohol right now. Try remover. But understand that remover degrades the product. It used in the removal process. So only use it if you have to.
I have a UV lamp that I bought from amazon. It dries perfectly all my non gel nail polish. But all my gel polish is still sticky especially my top coat from OPI Pro Health. Is there anyway to dry it or prevent the stickiness? I NEED HELP! I don’t understand why this is going on!
If you’re applying color only wipe after your final topcoat. If you bump your hand or something and get fuzzies on it, you can wipe the color layer but it may pull some of it off. But in normal application you do not wipe the base coat or color layers. Only the topcoat if it is a tacky one. ❤️
Thank you so much!! I legit sat with my hand under the light for 30 mins and was mad it still wasn’t “dry”
Same
Me too! I kept resetting and re "lighting" my nails. Seemed forEVER! Such a huge help. Thank you!
Yep same haha 😂
Me too haha that why I’m here in RUclips lol

This was so helpful I thought I got some bullshit lamp from Amazon
Nefe facts

So helpful. I thought my base coat wasn't drying. I sat for 10 minutes, each hand, curing my nails until the base was totally dry.

This video has saved me!! I was about to go buy another lamp thinking that is why my nails are so tacky. Thank you!

One problem solved, now I need to find out why my nails start to come off in only one week no matter how much I dehydrate the nails. I gotta fix this, I don't want to end up back in the nail salon again. Thanks for sharing this tip.
Work on your apex & after I glue the nail on I make sure it drys then on top of it I add glue
Try adding a primer between your dehydrator and base coat.

Omg thank you so much! I have been keeping my nails under the uv light for like 1 hour straight, this was truly helpful!

This video made me feel less bad for my practice dummy hand lol. Thanks!

I been lied too for a year 😭😒 oh my gosh so I also got this gel cleanser from Mia secret is that for the tacky stuff?
Did you put those tips on with just gel polish?
So it’s fine if we apply regular nail polish on top of this sticky layer?

Margie Fougeron If you are using gel you MUST have a lamp or it will never cure. So all you need is a lamp! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank u so much for clearing things up!
If I m wipe acetone free is it helpful?

Can I use acetone too?
Lifesaver!
Can I use 90% alcohol isopropyl?
Thank youuuu!!!!!
Does it work with nail polish remover?

What happens if you forget to put on the base coat when doing your poly gel nails ? Anyone!!!!!!!!!
A Marie It could lift right off the nail. The base is meant to be an adhesion layer. I have forgotten before when doing my nails. They don’t last as long and I get lifting.
Stephanie Marie W okay! Thank you.... I learned this the hard way! Lol 😂
A Marie Oh no!!! I’m sorry I didn’t reply sooner! 😅🙏🏽❤️
Stephanie Marie W it’s good, we all been a little busy with the quarantine and all... no rush! 😂🤣🎈

Dimension Nails thanks xX
I don’t have rubbing alcohol so can I use normal nail polish remover?
Mia Gardner I understand it’s hard to find rubbing alcohol right now. Try remover. But understand that remover degrades the product. It used in the removal process. So only use it if you have to.
Stephanie Marie W will 70% alcohol work?
Sarah Thomas yes it works

So I used alcohol to dry it but it takes the pigment off??? I’m really confused

can you use acetone to get the moisture layer off ?
Its going to start to melt it
Thanks
What is a good alternative to rubbing alcohol since it’s on short supply?
Ms. Concepcion you can try some polish remover. But be careful as it will degrade the gel. But you can temporarily use that! ❤️
What if u don't have rubbing alcohol can I use something else?
Ik this my sounds stupid but hand sanitizer helps lol just make sure it’s at least 70%
Fari Akki You can use a little bit of remover. Just be carful as it can degrade gel 😘😘
OK thank u for replying 😁
I love you now. Tysm
Very helpful
Yeah but my problem is the top layer not drying not the base.
It’s not dry. Tried wiping lightly with black paper. It was ass slimy and compared.
When are you restocking the base coat?
Ava Vaux it just went out of stock from our Labor Day Sale. 😭😭 Hopefully we should have it restocked in a couple weeks! ❤️
Dimension Nails that sounds good thank you
Lord u saved my life cuz I was lossing my mind
TFS Great information
What about 91%? It’s just removing the gel.!
paulina gonzalez 91% is perfect!
Oh I wonder if my 70% rubbing alcohol was the problem 😅
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
