Steven absolutely sucked in this
In this?
Bill burr and barry r two of my fave comedian and colbert just really sucks with them.
Todd's has the laziest possible wave to the crowd imaginable and it's great
More people need to follow Todd Barry, he's a TRUE working comedian, his humor is dry and intelligent.
Straight from the horse’s snakehole
Todd was very squinty in this segment. Moreso than usual.
Understated sense of humour
This had some amusing moments but I think the awkwardness comes from Colbert here. He doesn't quite know how to handle Barry. Conan also did an interview with Todd Barry and he had the right kind of energy to make the interview hilarious!
agree 100%. Colbert wasn't at his best here. Barry was relaxed and himself.
Rohan Hunter yeah Colbert sucks now, actually.
Agreed.
I've never seen Colbert interact well with comedians. He's the antidote to funny. He doesn't know how to react to a comedian on panel.
He all but ruined Bill Burr's bits by just giving him empty stares.
I tried to watch him. Can't do it.
Conan is a comedian's comedian.
arf arf Doggy Bounce
terrible interview. short, impersonal, not informative nor funny. the worst thing I've ever seen on this show. what happened?
Todd Barry is a great improviser ... but you wouldn't know it watching this
You can see it here too imo
Jesus. Do not operate heavy machinery or drive a vehicle after viewing this. This guy could put meth heads to sleep.
He finally got on Letterman's show, huh? Just... you know, without Letterman.
he's not real funny, but at least he's not annoying
"Do the doggy bounce" *bongo solo*
You know you want to do it, there's really nothing to it! BOUNCE BOUNCE!
I’ve never seen or heard of this guy in my entire life today is December 15, 2023, I guess I might’ve been living under a rock!
That interview had less energy than Jeb Bush
FUCK YES! TOD BARY IS PROBLY A LIBRAL! SHIT ON ALL LIBRALS! JUGALO FOR LIFE!
@@BigBewtieHoles YEAH MAN! Big ups to the Juggalos: a middle-american, mostly white, largely working-class subculture that is explicitly anti-racist and calls out the rich. Turns out ICP is antifa
@@BigBewtieHoles lololol
One of my favorite comedians ever. I could listen to him talk all day.
Based on this interview only*, do you also like drying paint, touching air or maybe pointing at your own pointing finger? Todd Barry is quite funny, but this plug did his book no favors.
KeepOnRecord agree
I met him after a show in Kirkland, Washington. He doesn't like to be approached. Still love him though and happily pay for anything he releases, including this book.
watch Todd barry crowd work if you like improvise comedy he just goes on stage and make fun of his audience
*Such* a funny special😄
He plays smaller venues by choice. Not. I repeat. Not because he can't sell out stadiums across the country.
I don't think Stephen likes Todd Barry.
Greenbean Casserole stephen comes off like he dislikes most people
Yeah thats his gimmick
Todd Barry has Garrison Keillor level nose whistles.
i love todd barry. ive listened to all of his albums and even told a few of his jokes to my friends. his comedy style appeals to me greatly.
The band was SO done with the interview
I saw Todd Barry at KFC once. He was easy on the eyes.
Colbert is a bad interviewer of comedians , he did it to Sebastian Maniscalco and Tony Rock and now Todd
I don't know, some comedians like Louis or Bill Burr just own the interview wherever they go.
spidy rocks nope. bill burr on Colbert was terrible
It's like sleepy comedy, not for those who have add
Todd is known and beloved by every comedian I love, but somehow is still underrated
Agreed. I I painted him eating tacos and he was very kind about it
Todd Barry is so good it made Colbert bearable for the entirety of the interview. Miracle worker....
I play the bongos, man
I loved that interview. Delightfully measured delivery. More Todd Barry!
Watching from Hattiesburg!
That's his arid extra dry sense of humor! Loved it! Btw, my guess is he was a last minute calling due to Winter Storm Stella.
Stephen dropped the ball on the interview a bit with some poor setups. Felt like he was just contractually obligated to promote the book and nothing more. Too bad because Todd is hilariously funny.
I'm a simple person. I see Jon Stewart, I click.
Goodcat007 Oh look. A random opinion I didn't ask for.
Goodcat007 *yawns*
Stewart is brilliant and a pioneer in modern political comedy. He's definitely not exclusively for simple people.
I'm a simpler person. I see Todd Barry, I click.
this will go down as the greatest night show appearance of all time
I like the way you think
I love Colbert, but he's not really giving Barry anything to go off of. He did the same thing to bill burr, come on Stephen bounce off him a little.
He’s an anti-semite
Stephen struggles with stand ups.
I don't think he wants the interviews to go well
Crowd work was fun to watch. 12/10 watchable AF.
Todd Barry is awesome. I swear, if it's not some dumbass actor yammering about themselves and their agent, people are like "That interview sucked." This is why Kim Kardashian and Honey Boo Boo are famous while actual talent is widely unknown.
This interview wasn't insanely funny! Colbert sucks! Todd Barry sucks! Am I doing this right?
Another Trump voter rationally explains his position.
He doesn't say anything. Just yes to everything. This was my first time watching him in interview and I think I'd just enjoy almost anyone else more.
Todd Barry is a good comedian. Colbert is a shit talk show host.
His humor is subtle and dry. Not for everyone.
This guy is a Comedian?
Another terrible interview by colbert. Reminds me of the bill burr episode.
"Strasbourg / St. Denis," eff yeah!
JediJoker what was that closing tune they played?! It's driving me nuts, I know I've heard it before!
There’s just something about Todd Barry. cool cool
Nice to see a woman complimentary of barry
His Crowd Work Tour special on netflix is great, don't let this video put you off him.
It must not make you feel all that good when your total interview time is shorter than the total commercial breaks for the astrophysicist.
Colbert did something previously considered impossible. He made Todd Barry unfunny.
Todd Barry is the coolest. I love his style
it really wasn't that bad
if this guy todd barry is supposed to be funny, i dont think he is at all.....stiff and Not funny
Colbert is really struggling here.
Stephen made this interview boring. Not Todd. Add a TAD more filler Stephen! Dam
lol this was really boring and not funny? he was so awkward and looked uncomfortable?
Bounce, bounce, do the doggy bounce! You know you want to do it, there's really nothing to it. OHHHHH YEAH! Doggy bounce!
God I miss the Colbert report persona. A million times funnier than actual Colbert
is he high
Stephen didnt do that good of a job...watch todd with someone like conan. Anyways Todd Barry is a comic genius. Not well represented here. His book is awesome by the way.
Todd is no nonsense about the walk out. He barely has time for the handshake. Music stopped, I gotta sit down.
I know Rangely, Colorado! NW corner of the state.
I'm sitting through this just for the Jon story.
2:07-3:16 There you go.
This guy sounds like if a cat could talk, it would sound like this and say these things. Humor as dry as his sandpaper tongue.
Colbert is absolutely terrible at interviews.
Oh! Now I know why this interview is so tense and awkward, why Colbert doesn't seem amused. Jon is Stephen's sweetheart. Todd got to tour with Jon, so it's like an interview with your crush's ex.
Jon Batiste is givin' the love to Roy Hargrove this whole episode
Matthew Long what was that last tune they played?
Todd is usually funnier than this
Gives me that same uncomfortable feeling like when I watch Ben Carson
this guy might be the worst guest on this show so far
Very funny guy. I like his comedy.
I love this comedian-more Todd Barry!
BOUNCE! BOUNCE! DOGGIE BOUNCE!
What song is jon batiste playing?
This was really boring.
Chemistry. What is it? Where did it go?
Stephen just has no talent for interviews. I miss the CR.
I love them both but there’s a weird sense of tension lol
When your delivery is one notch above hypnosis....
That's his brand. He is a subtle genius. Smart dude. Quick wit. Dry and biting comedy. I don't think this interview captured it.
@@Ffejro12256 he was referencing a review of his show that he talked about once
Neil left
Todd Barry FOREVER
I'm a huge fan of these two
zzzzzzzzzz.........
Not funny Stephen.
No chemistry
Cool story bro
Todd is fine, humor like a fine wine. Colbert? More like jaeger bomb.
i like you todd
Tom Segura came down to lafayette louisiana, i had to give him a thank you for that, no one comes down here, fucking sucks. great fucking show too.
Move
I fell asleep in the middle of this video...
This is low energy even for Todd Barry. Love that guy but they probably should have held him down before the show and poured whiskey down his throat to help him loosen up.
Lol where is john's email? I want to smooth things over too. I said some very harsh things... Well I never did but still... You said!!!
What the hell is wrong with this interview? Don't any of you know Todd Barry from his stand up. He's a really sarcastic and witty person. I don't always have to laugh at everything he says, (but i usually do) but I like what this guy has to say. I like Stephen Colbert as well
Anybody out there know what jazz song the house band is playing when they introduce Todd Barry?
Todd Barry's humor isn't for everyone and it's better to see it at a show because he does amazing crowd work. A 3-minute interview isn't much time to see his low-key improv skills.
A very funny comedian, but a very dry interviewee...
Todd Barry is Matt Hoss's good twin
The play off music from band started 3:00 minutes late.
Todd is so dry that I think I have fewer sweat glands than when I started watching this.
what's the song the band played when they introduced him?
Do my ears bless me with Strasbourg St Denis by Roy Hargrove
bald
They gotta give you more airtime. You have some really great guests where I expect slightly longer interviews. But then it's just rushed and choppy.
Hailing from WCU in Hattiesburg!
