Police chief should be charged with reckless driving. He ran a red light at a high rate speed severely injuring another driver. No excuses for this.

Plus he could have radioed in and had officers on scene in 5 min. You can’t see the homeless encampment he supposedly was stopping to move (which is bullshit because they are everywhere and he would not stop with his wife) and when he says thst he saw the gun pointed in his direction he was around the corner and unable to even see the so called shooters and he was hauling ass when he went through the light so he started increasing speed from way down the street. He ran a red light and didn’t even hit the breaks. What a shitty story. Chief would never stop when off duty either he would’ve and should’ve radioed for the closest available officer.

It's excruciatingly painful, it's terrifying on a primal level because you feel like you're drowning on dry land (only because that is exactly what is happening) and the pain goes on for months. Well, it was only months for me because I was a teenager when I had my accident (horse fell on me) and, looking back from 40+ years later, I can guarantee I didn't heal like a teenager when I was in my 30s, let alone any older than that!

Why would the supposed fleeing from gunfire chief not turn right with the flow of traffic instead of trying to cross multiple lanes of oncoming traffic. This would have limited his vehicle to only the first right lane of cars hitting him instead of try to cross 4 lanes of traffic .This does not pass the smell test and he should have been given drug and alcohol blood testing exactly like they would have done had this other man been at fault with this unbeleivable story ! However the Thin Blue Line will take care of their fellow chief and probably try to transfer the fault to the innocent driver or reduce his liability . It is a miracle that he used the line of fleeing gunfire as opposed to trying to apprehend fleeing gun totting criminals for police immunity as they are supposedly always on the job !

I got t-boned by a cop who ran a stop sign in his police car over 36 yrs ago. He was leaving a restaurant after his lunch break, but the city tried to say he was responding to an emergency.....they lied. I wasn't injured, but my car cost nearly $2k to fix and it took me over 3 months to get reimbursed. So if a city/county employee hit you, lawyer up and don't let them get one over on you.

An " ongoing internal affairs investigation into the crash" means NOTHING will be done except sweep this under the rug like all other police involved incidents.

Chief should have to reverse everywhere he goes from now on, if he’s allowed to keep his license.

You forgot to mention the human that now has to deal with life long injuries and the mental anguish and depression that comes with the instant change in one's body's ability to function, the same as it always has in the past. Only those that have experienced something like this can begin to understand the trauma and anguish of it all.

I believe that nobody is above the law including the ALBUQUERQUE POLICE CHIEF! I also think an outside source should investigate this accident! An outside agency such as the Texas department of public safety or The Colorado Hiway Patrol & at the very Least the New Mexico State Police. If they want to keep the investigation in state, I have a nephew with the Eddy County Sheriff department that doesn't know Chief Medina or have ties to the Albuquerque P.D. I think once an outside agency does the investigation & comes to a conclusion, that Chief Medina should be held to whatever disciplinary actions recommend by the outside agency!

By how fast Medina was hauling ass at the red light proves he never intended to stop for a fight and was doing nearly double the speed limit and ran a red light. Such an obvious coverup. The injured gentleman read the vehicle at regular speed but the chief of dumbasses was going double that so the distance between them closed was too fast. Plus why would he stop without uniform or backup with his freakin wife on central. He is a peace a shit and a big one. His officers commit violent murders and get away with them on a weekly basis. He hires 22 year olds to be cops that are immature and crooked. Plain n simple if your internal investigation officer who investigates crooked officers is crooked himself then he is too. He gives the sorriest explanations all the time and leaves out all the facts and details and the news on a regular basis to “fix” their CONSTANT Fuc*ups. Him and Keller need replacing immediately already because they cover each others asses by literally making it up.

If that was not a police (or the police chief for that matter) the driver would've been charged but since it was the police chief he was even praised for what he has done without any concern for the person he hit. It's like, they (police) are more important than the people they serve. The person in the golden Mustang is just like collateral damage to them.

Hispanic cops are all like this. Theyll drive drunk and crash and blame you for driving drunk. They are so use to being a power monger cop in their home nations thst when they come here all they can do is turn our nation into a corrupt marxist state like their family had to flee from..

No. It should remind you of the Chief that was the site commander that held his officers back. I watched a breakdown on that and the Chief was 100% at fault for his lousy decisions and repeatedly ordering his officers to not go in.

@@CuriousMess61 Oh, thanks for the info. You should send it to the DOJ to update their report. It would probably be beneficial for the grand jury that was convened too as they’re determining if any of the, roughly, 400 officers on scene should be held accountable. 👍🏻
