I watched the DNC convention tonight. I came in at Josh Shapiro and stayed til the end. Okay, who made you cry tonight ? Oprah got me. She talked about little Ruby Bridges, who I remember seeing on tv, when as a 6 year old little Black girl, she was the first Black child to go to a previously all white school after (my president) Dwight Eisenhower desegregated schools in the south. She was escorted by a phalanx of US Marshals, while white men and women screamed at that child, calling her everything but human. She had tomatoes thrown at her. Norman Rockwell painted the most iconic picture of that moment in time.. it haunts me still. As Oprah spoke, I broke. Then during Tim Walz's speech, this son, Gus, cracked and cried and took me with him. He was sooooo proud of his dad. I missed Bill Clinton's speech, but I'll catch it somewhere.
I will watch tomorrow. I won't miss tomorrow.
I'm thinking of calling the Lakewood/Tacoma DNC field office to see if they need volunteers. I worked for Obama 's campaign in '08.

You’re so easily led. Media (all sides) comb through hundreds of hours of video to find 12 seconds of material to create a perception that is hardly accurate. FOX does it with Harris (and did it with Biden); CNN (and others) does it with Trump; DNC (via media outlets) does it with RFKJ. Actually listen to Trump, Harris, Kennedy in extended interviews or speeches to see that they are not as ridiculous as the sound bites would have you believe (and consider listening to DIVERSE media outlets).
