So instead of a desperate defence like Finland had irl you get massive buffs just so the player can never stop feeling powerful for a second lmfao. And sadly it seems every minor country seems to follow this trend which is disappointing. Minors are supposed to be challenging to play, not stomping a major power's army like it's nothing. You don't win because your tactics are good, you win because the country you play has the Finnish flag.

But no matter what my friend did, he never was able to get even a single of my provinces and I just destroyed him after a while just because those irregular infantry bonuses are stupidly good.
Full disclosure, you could also use Join Germany to get the DEI and go the long way from there. But Bitt3r was very deep into the sunk cost fallacy by the time I worked that one out.
I tried beating USA as Mexico in early 39 with newest update, they already had 60-80 divisions in historical. I got slaughtered. Never before I have seen so early arming of USA. This worked fine in all previous patches.
It really illustrates how disconnected from reality the political mechanics of hoi4 is when canada flips fascist and the UK just sits there while the US is invaded by mounties like 'this is fine'
Canada is one of the countries in the game that I enjoy most a democratic playthrough. It's large enough to have an actual impact on the war effort but still small enough that you can let the other allies do the heavy lifting and you can just do these smaller scale operations all over the world since the US and UK will dominate the seas for you. So quite a relaxing country to play as a democratic nation and you don't have to wait as long to actually join the war like the US does.
As a Canadian, I can confirm that all of our (censored by youtube) do indeed look like Disney villains. They say the cold build character, and since it gets VERY cold here at times, most of our pubilc servants tend to be REAL characters ;)
Thats basically MP build for all of the commonwealth except raj. Due to manpower issues they’re better off creating small elite armies that pack a punch

I have no idea why they ever made you choose between having manpower and having an industry. It was such a strange choice to make that a decision and took too long to change.
As a Canuck it bugs me that our focus tree forces us to choose between production and manpower. We had both! We built more trucks than any other allied nation, and 1.1 million Canadians served out of a population of 11 million at the time. We ended the war with the 4th largest air force and the 3rd largest navy. Feels like our MTG tree was made back when minors were still minors and the devs had to compromise to keep us from being too strong, whereas countries that were in the war for 5 minutes are now getting overpowered trees that give them infinite manpower, 400 factories and 30 national spirits so they can easily fight Germany and Russia at the same time.
Just want to point out 2 things. 1-You get both industry and manpower now which Bitter points out in the video. 2-Canada got its focus in TFV, not MTG.

This is honestly one of the hardest achievements to get. I've tried this many times without success....the AI somehow counters me every time I make a move towards DC or they have divisions in DC that I can't push out of the tile before a stupid amount of reinforcements show up.
I remember wanting to earn some easy achievements, so I chose Canada, planning to get "Canada First" and "Send in the zombies". I decided to set historical AI off (custom rules to ensure Germany and Italy were historical). The Allies attacked Germany after their attempt to annex Czechoslovakia, and the Reich collapsed before I could join. I went the synarchist route and was defeated by America within three months. Funny times.
Canada is one of my favourite minors. On historical the tanks and marines you can make pre-AAT were busted. Can get mechanised 2 in 1939-1940 and good mediums or lights in 1938. In AAT you could probably buy the guns and support equipment from America and only focus on building those tanks and mechanised. Or you can do the Cav US bum rush

I played historical canada with only special troops. Made bunch of fighters and only paratroopers. Oh boy it's fun as fuck. Paratroopers are funny to play. Just drop them behind the line and don't touch it. Push from the other side with strong units and bam you vibe a whole army. It's just funnier they melt in numbers after you pocket them constantly. I can explain a way to cheese it if you would like to give it a try
im having a very hard time pushing the America line, I cant get enough troops out because I don't have the civilians to buy enough guns, and I don't have the industry to produce them because I couldn't build anything due to having to focus everything on the collab governments. I think it might be better to try putting off the spy agency until I can get some civilians built. Also, the UK always guarentees the US when they see me justifying now so the US joins the allies and the British and French send all their troops to defend them so this strategy just isn't working for me!
I love the guy, but his guides are not really guides (here it's not even in the movie title). He skips LOTS of shit and takes shortcuts here and there, making them impossible to follow. And sometimes his videos are on the earlier patches - like here, justifying on USA for me brought the world tension to 79%, which probably was something they patched to avoid players, especially in MP, rushing USA as Canada or Mexico. Couple of times you will find those discrepancies in terms of speed, amount of starting factories. And at the end of the day, Canada, fascist or not, is a fucking awful country to play, especially if you take into the consideration how much recources they actually contributed to the WW2 effort.

It's funny looking up the leaders in this game and realize most of them should rightly rather die than work together. For instance, the Disney villain here was a devout Catholic French-Canadian who hated Jews. Apparently many Quebecois Catholics despised them as well. Also anyone who wasn't French or British Canadian. Including Germans. Meanwhile fascist Italy, populated by many many Catholics, struggled to gain popular support for much oppression of their Jews until the Italian Social Republic period, as most Italians seemed to have at least okay relations with the Italian Jewish community. And then Hitler wanted all Jews eradicated, but was also an atheist. So anyway they can all get super good relations and join in a faction. (Yes I know Italy and Germany actually were part of the same faction, but that's not the point.) Also the Confederate States of America being fascist makes no sense. Yes their views on minorities fits with the ideology, but not their form of governance, which was supposed to be a very small central government with all member states being mostly autonomous. Which is distinctly not in line with the fascist ideal of a powerful unified state. Neo-Nazis and neo-Confederates should rightly hate each other. But they don't because they can't see past their only common ground, that being they hate the same people.
how do you tell a division when micromanaging it to go to one place and then go to another place still going through the first one? Mine just go to the newest place i selected by the shortest path.
You hold shift and click each province in the order you want to go in. Holding shift generally adds orders to the end of a “queue” to be done after the unit finishes whatever it was doing
