Reading over this debate and seeing it unfold over the duration of several weeks was quite thought-provoking in many regards. Furthermore, playing with the new system and seeing how it performs compared to the old one was certainly an experience in itself. The culmination of all these factors is why I took a fair bit of time before producing this video; understanding it all was crucial to making this after all. I can see the potential idea that me putting out this video about a month since the change as a decision made far too late; that, since the update has been out for so long already this video isn't as valuable. In all fairness however, it must be recalled that this update isn't yet on console. Once it is this debate will only reopen, and perhaps to an even bigger degree than what has been seen here. As such, I don't perceive this video to be late by any means. As stated in the video, the portions with the purple and orange text are not necessarily what I believe myself. These are only segments summarizing some arguments I've seen in light of the gun system rework. Only what I mention directly as my beliefs is what I actually think about this matter, nothing else. In no way am I putting these segments here to jeopardize either position of the community; this material only shown here for context. On a completely unrelated, coincidental note, today an event has just begun for Deli Interactive, the devs of We Need to go Deeper. They have just begun play testing their second game called "Camp Canyonwood", a summer camp simulator similar to Animal Crossing. It is being published by Graffiti Games, the same folks who published Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. I do agree that on some runs, i just cant get myself anything decent as they are so expensive. However i do prefer this new system as it rewards me more for my farming efforts and its nice to be able to stick with a gun for a few days, saving up for a next potentially better gun.
I really like the new gun system. I find myself more motivated by reward than necessity to try new weapons, and this system gives players the option to stick with a particularly powerful weapon to save money or for an upcoming boss. The stat upgrades are satisfying and the healing is invaluable for newer players. I feel like i more consistently get my hands on decently powerful weapons with the new system and mods, speaking as a
I feel like they should add a few more stores/stalls to buy from. So maybe instead of the 1 with 3 items, there could be 3 stores. 1 for seeds. 1 for animals. 1 for scrolls or items maybe even add cosmetics u could buy and unlock during your runs to use on more runs... something like that would help spend the extra money you earn during runs that you don't use on a new weapon or gambling...
I liked the last version because it kept guns kinda cheap,but I do like the comfort of not having to use rye to make sure my 12 thousand dollar rifle doesn’t fold like a crappy paper Mache project when I get out of the helicopter
I think this could be tweaked further with some sort of gun mod/upgrade. But I do agree, as a newcomer to the game. I didn't try a new gun at all. It took two runs before I had the money to grab one. My assumption now is that with upgrades outside of the regular game. I'll get more money or making money will be easier so I can actually afford swapping guns more often. But I've beaten the run twice now, I think, and I still rarely swap out of one gun purchase because of how expensive it is. With unlocking bridges and the low amount earned until the end it feels so pointless. I think it's a good system but I've had qualms with it because of the high cost and relatively low amount of money earned. (seriously after first round I still cant buy anything unless it's like 30 or bellow.
I'm on switch and the most recent patch has yet to be released. I'm kind of tired of the game getting changed. I just beat year three and the switch version crawls with the last patch on switch. I'm tempted to get the physical version just so I can have the original format on a cartridge.
What are those guns?! I've only started playing this on PS4 a couple months ago. I guess the PC version and console are very different? I wonder if they will ever update the PS4 version to the same as PC?
The PC version of the game is ahead by a free update and a DLC that released at the same time. The 1.5.0f1 Update is what completely reworked the gun system; the Reap What You Crow DLC is what adds the Scythe and Leech weapons. Porting for both of these content patches is underway, however we have no information regarding it. Raw Fury, the publisher and those responsible for the ports, have released no ETAs or anything of the sort.

I'm glad I started playing with the new system. I've gotten used to it.
