I'm going to say Rhodey's been a Skrull since 2010, a low key confession from Rhodey to Fury that he "knew about Skrulls for the last 15 years". Also a perfect time was when he walked into that courtroom and told Tony "yeah, it's me" replacing Terrence Howard. Now I expect so many retro clips [more detailed now] showing how Rhodey was involved with a lot of shady events during the MCU.
Nick Fury and Talos going back and forth was definitely something to watch. The dialogue between them this episode was 10/10.

That scene was so perfect. Fury went hood on Talos and then dismissed him like "Big Mama" would. I still can't tell which interaction was better. The one with Fury and Rhodey or Talos? Both showed great writing and improv.
I think Talos has been a Skrull all along.

I actually don't understand how this confirms that Rhodey is a Skrull. If Skrulls kidnapped Rhodey and took his form and memories, wouldn't the Skrull Rhodey also know to call him Fury instead of Nick?
I bet the Gi'ah used the machine for herself after she found out what experiments Gravik was doing. Notice in episode 2 when she snuck in the lab, she waited for everyone to leave. I bet she saw Gravik use it on himself. I think the reason why she didn't die from the gunshot is because she too has some of that extremis grafting in her.

I think the alternate argument is that Rhodey has been a skrull for a very SHORT time and no one has had a chance to notice. I think this is much more likely. I don’t think marvel is going to mess with Tony’s story and if you mess with Rhodey you mess with that nice bow they tied with Tony’s death. Rhodey being a skrull would cheapen it. And I don’t think they will do that. Also if he’d been a skrull forever, he’d know not to call fury Nick.

When Thanos's crew bombed the Avengers facility, Rhodey still couldn't walk. I don't know if skulls replicate disabilities or not, but I'll just say that it was a very believable performance by that skrull.
I think the skrull that bumped into Talos with the burner phone was Gi'ah (Emilia Clark) because she had the exact same burner phone in the car typing the info Gravik spilled on the drive (purposely done by Gravik) to trap/expose Gi'ah as the traitor early on and she was also already suspiciously outside when Gravik came back to the car...I also think Rodey became a skrull in 'CA-Civil War' after the sky fall accident. Easy swap from a skrull doctor/nurse and Avengers could've ignored any sudden change in personality from sky fall PTSD and stress from physical therapy to walk again.

You are definitely right. That’s why Gravik was suspicious and got pissed when the van got in his way giving Gi’ah time to get back to the car
And also that’s how Talos knew to call Gi’ah for the password at the end
Initially, I thought it was going to be another Skrull working for Gravik, who did the bump and some sleight of hand to pass off a tracked phone until I saw the old man dip around the van and Gi'ah being there. But, yeah, it was her.
And the real old man was behind her to help sale the ruse
I thought Giah did the phone pass off herself. She changed back while the white van obstructed Gravik's view. She was outside the car when he came back. Plus....how else would she have gotten the phone to her father? We see her type in the info and she's later confirmed at the end to be in communication with him.

I wouldn't be surprised if the leader that deserted the high council last episode ended up really being Talos' wife/G-iah's mother somehow.
It was her, you can see the guy she morphed into walking away down the road. It was kind of obvious and a bad miss by EA

I think Rhodey being a skrull is a red herring. And people keep mentioning how he called Fury "Nick" during that conversation, but he called him "Fury" about 4 times in the conversation first. He didn't call him Nick until the end. I took it as Rhodey trying to talk to Fury as a friend at first, but when it comes time to tell Fury that he is fired, he switches from friend to speaking on behalf of the government and calls him Nick. I could be completely wrong, but I can't wait to find out.
Even fury personal friends never call him Nick. Its obvious he's a skrull plus at the end of the ep... it gives it away.

If you know how black folks argue, then you know that as things heat up, people will use unwanted names to get under the others' skin. If you hate your middle name, then expect it to be used during the argument. That scene was so good and culturally accurate.
I think since most of the series is showing Skrulls taking the face of high powered individuals, it would make more sense for Rhody to get swapped either right before or right after he became the Presidents advisor.
If he was swapped since Iron Man, he would have never slipped out the “Nick” during the meeting.
Man this series keeps killing it every marvel fan needs to watch it and leaves on a cilffhanger

@@SPCPerez19Delta well if u understand the story of it like fury and carol discover the skrulls and they looking for a home but they decide to be on earth and the blip a million skrulls come to earth and after the avengers are disassembled like basically if u go back and think about it coming full circle and also secret invasion is so darker and mature like what the last time u saw a human gets finger cut off and blood and the turns into a skrull finger but turns after that and also secret invasion deals into paranoia, like u see Nixon and Reagan aka watergate and Reagan buying missiles from drug sales to fight communists in South America at the time and all the different like secret invasion is not like political exhausting, but a Thriller espionage and take on invasion of body snatchers they live and other ones

Yeah i still believe rhodey is a skrull, but only after endgame though. If he was a skrull during endgame, then they would make tonys death scene „weight less“ if one of the three people that were with him while dying was a skrull.

My theory is Frost Beast has an ice shield which could be classified as similar to Sue’s invisible force field. Both abilities being a form of self protection.
Ice can also be used to reflect light, and in the Avengers movie we saw that Shield invisibility tech worked like that, so I guess that's the connection.

Rhodes being the last person we hear can mean a bunch of things and I can’t wait to see it play out in next weeks episode. Either he’s a skrull and things just escalated or he’s intercepting Verra’s contact. “I wanna speak to Gravik” “Well, you’re talking to me.” is he part of the problem? Or did he take some initiative after his talk with Fury? Personally I don’t want him to be a skrull but for the story if it works it works. Super excited for Armor Wars! Can’t wait to see him carry on Iron Man’s legacy, those cool mech suits are something I feel this phase of the MCU’s been missing, but the lack of it adds to the impact Tony’s death had.
Is the Skrull version of Rhodes going to be responsible for starting the Armor Wars since he let people like Justin Hammer get details on how to recreate that suit after he took it from Tony Stark?
It’s just weird him being a Skrull , I think it takes away from his character and with Armor Wars coming , having War Skrull just feels off. No sir I don’t like it.

Was it only odd to me, how dramatically Fury was about to step out of the pub before turning around again to give Talos the groveling he wanted? Like with Fury's headwear, kinda as if he took a break while the driver was switched? Just me? Then nevermind XD)
My theory is that shortly after Tony funeral in Endgame Rhodey was grieving, and therefore easier to snatch up that's why he's not wearing the leg braces the skrull caught him at home without them on.

Who ever thought of that scene was a sloppy anyway... Why did her daughter die? Wasn't her daughter ever once in the military? Didn't she unsderstand the risks of her daughter becoming a warfighter? That question speaks poorly of the woman, but it's written as a hit on Fury...
Giah was the scrull that gave Talos the burner. And the guy she was impersonating is behind her on the phone when gravic gets back to the car
I think Gi’ah has her own skrulls that pretend to be her and the real ones not dead

Man I’m loving the storylines for Secret Invasion Gravik, Super Skrulls, Nick Fury and Talos, Skrull Rhodey, G’iah but I wish we had more action but im liking the drama and suspense and the lore about Nick Fury, Gravik, Talos, and Skrulls. Can’t wait for more breakdowns!
17:52.... the "man" that bumped into Talos was his daughter G'iah. She put the info in the phone when Gravik left the car, bumped into her father in that disguise, then ducked behind the truck out of Gravik's sight and was back at the car across the street when he got there.

very intense episode, so many hints and questions and some answers. I'm very much looking forward to Gravik getting his comeuppance in a future episode. And I'm hoping Fury and Talos will be the ones to do it. I do hope we get the real Rhodey back soon.
Mann these episodes are getting better and better and now we realizing that talos was a huge part of bringing the avengers together and for fury to go up in the ranks of shield fury may not have been what he is now without talos

that’ll definitely be interesting to find out because i don’t think any of the major characters were skrulls before endgame. at least any of the avengers cause i think tony, natasha or clint probably would’ve figured it out over a period of time. either do to tony’s genius and tech or the other twos spy skills. it’ll be interesting to find out tho cause how would rhodey get caught. how would the skrulls capture an avenger like i wonder what the landscape was like when everyone came back and what everyone did after they left Tony’s funeral

Fury and Talos back to team up again was the wonderful thing in this episode, and everybody, nobody calls him Nick--title like kinda "this is the way" moment.
Episode 3 was the "air out Fury" episode. He was getting humbled left and right 😂
Fury haven't been vulnerable since the 90s but Talos was right he helped Fury this whole time not to mention the Blip messed him up too.

Not sure if this is an easter egg, but “Scilla” (or “Scylla”) is also one of the two sea monsters in the Odyssey. It had multiple snakelike heads and was explicitly referenced as a “she”.
The story of a man going away and returning home to find that much has changed in his absence.
Nick is going to need to call some super-powered folks to help him and Talos against the skrulls cause they are not surviving against super skrulls if anything episode 4 or 5 would be the time call in Quake and Coulson can be a backup as well
He still has his space beeper. Carol Danver has a lot of experience with Skrulls. He could call Starlord too. He's on Earth.
What if Rhodey was always a Skrull since the very beginning and it retroactively explains why he looks different between the first and second iron man

I don't think Rhoddy has been a Skrull very long since I don't think they would have been able to pass Vision. I think we will end up seeing the moment where he was taken more recently.
I love the brotherly relationship between Fury and Talos, but I do hope they can learn to empathize for one another a little more in the near future. They've both been through some nasty stuff and I hope they both recognize that.
Rhodey being a Skrull about the time he was recovering at Avengers Compound, a "nice Skrull" working for Fury replaced Rhodey as an infiltration test, passed with flying colors, and Rhodey stayed in "healing" away from the Avengers Compound and during Infinity War, Rhodey got snapped and since Fury was "gone", no one was around to validate "Rhodey" (Skrull) on-mission, and with help of Gravic, "recovery Rhodey" was put on ice (stasis). So I expect when the real Rhodey comes back for Armor Wars, he's not only cleaning up Tony's mess, but also the Skrull mess of fake-Rhodey sneaking armor to the Skrulls.
Man I tell ya, the best thing marvel can do is let these actors be actors and not just reply on superheros and big fights. The best marvel projects are those where I forget I’m even watching a superhero picture.
The character acting between Samuel Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn has been absolutely incredibly. The car convo was some of the realest stuff I’ve seen from marvel. The emotion from Talos was palpable. Might have to rewatch that.
The scene with Fury and his wife who was pretty obviously working with Gravik’s group was also phenomenal.
Obviously Emilia Clarke’s Gaia ain’t dead so looking forward to seeing how that goes next week. Also what it is Gravik wants fury wife to do.
And confirmation of the most common theory that Rhoady is a skrull. It’s just a matter of how long he’s been one.

I think the Skrulls replaced people during the snap 5 year period that's when the bulk of them arrived and it would be the best time to do it as the global chaos would allow them to place themselves in positions of importance

Can Skrulls recognize one another when they're "in disguise"? Like is there a way of school can tell that someone who has shapeshifted into someone else Is a Skrull?
If not, what has kept crime from running rampant in their society? I mean, say that you get their own world, what would anyone from shifting into looking like the anyone else and using that person's identity to unload their bank account, crack top secret security procedures, or or prevent them from doing anything to deceive one another?

It is worth pointing out that the use of Winston Churchill as an example of those leaders who sit back behind the lines and don’t do actually fighting, was a relatively ignorant choice by the show runner. Churchill actually fought on the front lines during World War I. for that matter, his participation in other combat situations makes it quite clear that whatever you think about him in other respects, he was not a coward.
Is it just me or did Gravik act completely different during the meeting with Talos. As if it was someone pretending to be him. Felt strange

Could it be that when Sec. Ross asked Rhodey to arrest Steve and the gang in Endgame he had just been usurped by a Skrull??
Remember that's when mostly everyone was gone so it could've been the perfect time to infiltrate the Avengers.
I’m gonna say Rhodey became a Skrull after Tony died. It’s all about the legs. Infinity War he wore leg braces. At Tony’s funeral he still had braces to help him walk. In 5 years he only had a slight upgrade in leg braces but now, just a couple years after the unsnap he can walk up and down stairs with no braces at all? My guess is some time after Tony died and when Fury disappeared in space is when he was swapped out with the real Rhodey.
Question: Is Fury glasses like Starks??? He only uses them when talking to people he doesn’t trust - or when hinting for Skrulls.

What a damn good episode. This show continues to deliver on the tone and the seriousness.
While the first two episodes were better overall, I still thought this episode was good. While I've come to acclimate to the MCU Disney Plus episode format of 6 episodes, I also continue to wish for a bit more episodes to have things fully fleshed out.
The very tense interaction between Talos and Gravik was incredible. Ben Mendelsohn and Kingsley Ben-Adir delivered amazing points for why they do what they think must be done for the advancement of the Skrulls.
Kingsley, in my opinion, is turning in one hell of a performance as Gravik. His eyes, his body language, the way he speaks and his actions impress me greatly.
Also, Super Skrulls are coming! Also also, looks like Rhodey IS a Skrull???? Also also also, I don't believe that G'iah is dead. Ain't no way you cast Emilia Clarke only to get clapped halfway through the show.
We're halfway done with this series, and I can't wait for the next episode.

I don't think that Rhodey was replaced by a Skrull until after Endgame. Maybe not even until after Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
My theory is that everything was cool, until after the blip when there was such turmoil and so many people displaced. I'm betting that's when Gravik got extreme and upset with Nick Fury disappearing and not finding them a home.
I suspect Gravik is going to closely gatekeep which Skrulls become Super Skrulls.
But has even the audience been told _why_ Fury and Captain Marvel didn't keep their promise to the Skrulls? Even allowing for the Blip, there should have been some demonstrable progress.
I think it was an empty promise. How is a human gonna promise a set of aliens, another planet 😂

@@SheDreadzMe Skrulls are pretty adaptable. There's got to be some suitable planets out there that don't already have intelligent life. I'd say that even in real life...in a movie they just need to write it.
But so far they haven't even written an excuse.

Rhodey has been a Skrull only after Captain America Civil War. He was with a Mind Stone blast from Vision and he fell out of the sky. No Skrull reveal so, sometime after. Most probably during The Blip.
Priscilla Fury is not on Gravik's team but, she and Fury adopted him as their son. So simply she is seriously concerted about her son and her husband going to war against each other. Priscilla get the gun after a call from Fury but, it is Rhodey that calls her in the safety deposit room.
G'iah is not dead. She too has taken The Extremis Serum. It is the easiest for a Skrull to adapt too as, Tony Stark stabilised it in Ironman 3. G'iah will eventually take on the persona Abigail Brand. Extremis lends itself perfectly to Abigail Brand's mutant ability of Pyrokinsis.

Great video! My theory is Rhode has been a skrull after Iron Man 1. They could use the intro in Iron Man 2 when Rhode said it's me let's get on with it. They could tie it right with the actor change. Or go real dark and say he never made the fall from civil war.
I agree with the civil war part! I think the skrulls kidnapped him while he was in a coma and have been impersonating him since then. But who knows
And, maybe real rhodey is in a pod and will be rescued, and he doesn't know about Tony- and the real Rhodey will be in armor wars.
I think the same thing iron man 2 was when he started trying to take Tony suit by silver war he had captured Tony reason why he was on Rhodes and the government side instead of captain America why they fought so hard for the super human registration act to have a data base to be able to find people with powers to make the super strolls and believe Tony made the tech they use to steal the memories they need to let me write
