Similar thing happened with me and a friend of mine in high school. One night I couldn't anymore so I texted her and I was like guuurl, did I do something to offend you because there's a strange energy between us I don't understand. Then she was like, I thought you were mad at ME. I was like no, I thought you were mad at ME. Next day we were back at chatting like there was never a silence and strange energy 'tween us.

There are 4 producers of the new Color Purple including Quincy Jones and Steven Spielberg but black folk zoom in on Oprah as though she financed the entire movie, negotiated all the contracts and made all the decisions. Then when Taraji posts on her Instagram page that she asked Oprah to intervene and she did which resolved the issue, the assumption is that she was forced to do so. Monique refused to promote her movie without additional pay. Whoopi told her that if she had called her, she could have schooled her.

Whoopi's appearance fees for promoting the movie would have been huge and we all know Oprah don wanna pay. Also, Whoopi was never as passionate about The Colour Purple as Oprah. Oprah LOVED the book even before she became famous.
