    the full in Double layout is Nmed after Tatiana Tuzhikova (they named it wrong bevause she did a full-out. in 1991 Chusovitina got the full-out named after her. Since almost everyone has forgot Tuzhikova, we call it a Chusovitina nowdays.

    Tatiana Tuzhikova performed it in '87 with the twist in the first somersault, Chusovitina adds the twist in the second. :) They are two different skills.

    The Dos Santos II is insane. I don't see how that's even possible.

    I just looked it up. Tuzhikova is credited with the element, along with Chusovitina (Tuzhikova for the layout full-in and Chuso for the full-out) in the 1997 version of the Code of Points. In 2001, only Chusovitina was credited.

    I know Dos Santos did use the Dos Santos II and the Chusovitina and a double layout in her 2008 floor, and I'm pretty sure she could do a Silivas and a Podkopayeva if she trained it. However that Gomez would probably be the one that would give her trouble...

    It has been called the Chusovitina in the code since 2006 (I haven't got any codes from before then so I don't know if she was credited with it before that)

  • @Yurchenko
    @Yurchenko 15 лет назад

    That is Tatiana Tuzhikova doing the full-twisting double layout in the 1987 Worlds. She was originally credited with the move, but I have no idea why she no longer gets credit. Perhaps she never submitted the skill, like Mostepanova with the Onodi?

  • @MostepanovaFan
    @MostepanovaFan  15 лет назад

    The code does distinguish between the 2 but the difference is pretty minimal. I have often thought that Sacramone's half-in, half-out looks like a double arabian 1/2. Both are worth the same in the code so I suppose it doesn't really matter which the judges credit it as (unless someone tries to do both in the same routine)

  • @AlyaralovaFan
    @AlyaralovaFan 12 лет назад

    when her body angle is larger or equal to 135 degrees, it's credited as layout (like jordyn wieber'e double layout dismount her position isn't as laidout as it should be). obviously her arabian double straight is credited correctly without any doubt.

  • @seanthefriendlywhale
    @seanthefriendlywhale 13 лет назад

    @MostepanovaFan yes but what I have always wondered is that a full twisting double piked is an E element where as if someone were to do a double arabian pike half out would be an F so I'm kinda confused as to what they would give that

  • @TahleeLeeson
    @TahleeLeeson 12 лет назад

    difference is with the arabian the first half twist "into" the skill is done as just that.. a jump half turn before any salto is initiated. with a half in half out the "half in" is performed mid salto.

  • @LCAmarkymark
    @LCAmarkymark 12 лет назад

    I hope so...It just looks harder too...that's why I don't understand the floor code sometimes. Both Full ins are the same value too and it's harder to do that piked but I will never understand why they do the things they do lol.

  • @TahleeLeeson
    @TahleeLeeson 12 лет назад

    To be named after the gymnast they must perform it at a worlds or higher equivalent competition and do necessary paper work etc..

  • @Yurchenko
    @Yurchenko 15 лет назад

    Since when is the full-twisting double layout named after Chusovitina? It was first performed in 1987, four years before Chusovitina competed at Worlds. Did they add her name to the most recent code since she performed hers as a layout full out? I would have sworn she wasn't credited with the element before.

  • @vesperholly
    @vesperholly 15 лет назад

    The first double arabian 1/2 out example (Amy Chow?) looks much more like a half-in, half-out. I couldn't really see the arabian, but maybe it was the camera angle? The second example is clearly a double arabian 1/2 out.

    like Yurchenko said before, Oksana Chusovitina is credited with a double layout full-out. if the gymnast performs a double layout with the twist in the first somersault it is not a 'Chusovitina' like the athlete you have as an example after Oksana in this video for instance.

    Double Twisting Double Tuck chama-se "Tsukahara", movimento executado por Mitsuo Tsukahara em 1970 e não "Mukhina", como está no video.
    O "Chusovitina" também está errado. Chusovitina é o Double Straight with Full Turn.
    E quanto ao "Silivas", há controvérsias, uma vez que este movimento acrobático foi realizado pela primeira vez por Li Ning, nos Jogos Olímpicos de Los Angeles em 1984.

    I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of hell for this, but I do not see how the judges can credit Dos Santos with a laid out double front. She's not laid out. She's piked. I know it's an EXTREMELY difficult element, but it should be laid out. Personally, I LOVE her full twisting double layout!! She does that beautifully. Now, if only she could land it cleanly :-)

      She most likely did not perform it at an Olympic Games or at the World Championships. In order for it to be named after you, you have to submit it and perform it at a World Championship or an Olympic Games. Brenna Dowell did it at the 2015 World Championships, and thus, it is now called the "Dowell" The same happened with Mostepanova and Onodi after the Onodi move. While Mostepanova performed it first, she didn't perform it at Worlds or the Olympics and it instead went to Henrietta Onodi, who did perform it at a Worlds or Olympic Games.

    • @bowft7033
      @bowft7033 7 лет назад +2

      But Mostepanova did it at the 1983 Worlds. So Onodi did it second.
