    Another powerful class! I’ve been researching my family history for over 15 years. It makes my heart sing to know that so many people are searching for their ancestors. The stories that the elders share are equally important to preserve. Thanks again Dr. Carr & Professor Hunter!

    Over the last few years I have developed an even greater respect for these historians. Dr. Greg Carr, John Henrik Clarke, Prof. Kaba Kamene, ect., I know they have been doing this for decades, but, to read, study and memorize such an enormous amount of information, is almost non-human to me...

    #75! I've been here since the 4th week and in that time I have learned more about our history than I have the past 53 years of my life. I never knew how hungry, and thirsty I was for this knowledge until I seen my first class with Dr. Carr and Prof. Karen.

      I feel what you're saying. Sometimes you get food in the store that looks good and the nutritional label says it's complete. But the effect on your taste buds and body says, "nah." "In Class With Carr" is the real deal. It may not have all the perfection of that GMO food. But it's been the right thing at the right time.

    The headlines of the last couple of week has disturbed my spirit so badly, when I heard of the earthquake in Haiti, I know that I needed to quickly get to today’s class to hear and understand all these headlines from a governance structure. Like you Prof Hunter, Dr Carr is teaching me to look at everything through the governance structure and our powerful historical memory, and the question, “uh huh, so how do it free us?” Heading over to Knarrative for more. Thank you and stay blessed.

    I will share that I had a personal struggle regarding public education last year. I work in a field that has an educational requirement for some positions. I had purview over a public company and noticed that some of the people in charge lacked the required education. My leadership pushed me to approve and provide a legal basis for persons without a high school diploma to have a highly technical position affecting public health and employee safety. I left my position because I held a requirement for my own son despite his disability to complete high school, thus I could not allow someone fully capable of obtaining requisite education a pass.

    Prof. Hunter, I hope my numerous comments have established my deep respect for you & Dr. Carr. This is why I'm compelled to say I find it very troubling that you'd ask if "whatever they summoned" referring to our enslaved family in Haiti. If you read the words before the uprising, it's clear they called on The Divine. They called on the God of justice to look at what the God of these people had been doing. In the 1980s, White, "Christian" evangelicals like Pat Robertson taught in Haiti & across the Caribbean that evil is what freed them and why Haiti is suffering. Such indoctrination led to more self-hatred and bad treatment of Haitians by others in the region.
    If places will elicit destruction based on spiritual wickedness, the U.S. , U.K., France, Saudi Arabia, etc. are at the top of the list. It's my position that Denmark Vesey & Nat Turner were not praying to the same Creator as enslavers anywhere. I wouldn't say that's why they were lynched. Christians, Muslims, Vodouisants, Jews, Hindus, etc., are as sacred as and in tune with the same Sacred Creator.
    Nobody says Indigenous/First Nation people are almost extinct because they practiced their own, pre-colonization spirituality. Or that it led to the Trail of Tears. The U.S. has access to biological & other warfare. We know how fracking has caused earthquakes right here. The same govt with dirty hands in the assassination is very capable of destabilizing the environment and choosing the anniversary of Bwa Kayiman to do it. (E.g. "Our" govt killed of their pigs and rice and forced them to import both from here during the 1st occupation.)
    However, even from the environmental perspective, Haiti has had to engage in deforestation and other practices to survive, which has further weakened them. After the U.S. evil strikes, the Japanese used their strength to become an even greater global force and they also built infrastructure to better handle earthquakes there.

    • @loveheals6184
      @loveheals6184 3 года назад

      @@KarenHunterShow , I know where you stand on Haiti in terms of the people and its history. The reason for alarm is from 9:17-9:43 "There's something spiritual that I'm not sure how to articulate what is happening because it shares space with the Dominican Republic." Then you mention people in the DR on your timeline who didn't have the safe effects. (Geologists & environmentalists can explain the reasons for this.) You then continue, "But it's the same land mass. Why does this keep happening? And I wonder if... there's some sort of universal...maybe, whatever was summoned to free them- I don't know".
      That seems to suggest they summoned something other than God because it wasn't a Christian ceremony. 100% of my blood family identifies as Christian or Muslim. My point is we should be careful not to suggest that something is a negative force just because it's outside our own tradition. I commented here because I took you at your word that we're all growing (including you) and unlearning certain conditioning. So with all we agree on, I presumed a pointing out an unintentional bias could be received. They said they were calling on God. There is a record of their words. There's no reason to doubt that- unless one believes that not being Christian/Muslim/Jew means not believing in God. My intention was healthy, intellectual discussion- NOT to offend/disrespect you. I'm sorry it appears to have been perceived that way.

      @@loveheals6184 So ask yourself...am I anti-Haiti? If the answer is no, then you are expending a whole lot of words to chastise me or wag a finger at someone who OBVIOUSLY is pro Haiti and the people. Stop looking for offense.

    • @loveheals6184
      @loveheals6184 3 года назад

      @@KarenHunterShow , of course I don't think you're anti-Haiti. I'm not looking for offense. I just thought that just as you have Unlocking Astrology to explore some of the ways we've been conditioned to be against other ways of thinking, you'd be open to reconsidering how we view non Abrahamic faiths- based on your comment on "what they summoned". I've come at people obviously trolling you or just out to fight/pontificate. This is neither. I didn't think you'd get defensive. Hence my sincere apology that you seemed to take offense. I wish us both well. Peace.

    A few years ago, 2015 or 2016, I wrote an article in a column I ran in the Oklahoma Eagle about this very topic--minority rule. In it I described the political situation in Clarksdale MS, the little town where my mom's parents came from. At the time, Clatksdale was about 66% AA yet was almost exclusively ran by white men. There were two Black city councillors out of maybe eight or more. What Dr. Carr is pointing out beginning at the 44:44 mark is that we are on track to allow white folk to replicate Clarksdale on a national level if we don't grasp the importance of simple things like voting and organizing. As he said, we have to give those politicians we elect the cover to speak their conscience on our behalf by doing one thing, being consistent. In other words, we have to turn out in full force every time the ballot box opens rather than just for presidential elections. Or we will wake one day living in a country similar to pre-1989 South Africa.

    The Geiger Counter only picks up gamma radiation. The nuclear byproducts include beta, alpha and neutron radiation. The gamma radiation discussed is external, the people on the ground were effected internally through air and water and food intake.

    Do you know that legally they still consider those bombs as "tests" , not weapons of destruction. To say otherwise will get you put on "the list"?

    "Stop approaching whiteness as a monolith. You know who's closer to a monolith than the white community? The Black community bc the oppressionmade blackness." I didnt think I'd ever hear someone say that. If we were enslaved as a group, oppressed as a group, denied rights as a group it only made sense for us to plot and struggle as a group, achieve our rights as a group and vote as a group. That is monolithism. White folks wish they had the cohesiveness, especially in voting, that Black people have.
