Either dense or acting oblivious, i mean hes got to have known how mikasa feels about him, like she likes him, but he never makes it clear if he knows or not, so it might be him being dense, or it could be a reason for him not acknowledging it. After the scene at the end of season 2, he had to have known, he couldnt have thought that was platonic. Could be a plot twist, knowing attack on titan it could be.
