Framing is one of those things that separates the top 10% of detailers from the other 90%. A customer won’t be able to pick out exactly what you did, but subconsciously (as said) they will notice the smaller detailers and overall be pleased with the work.

8:27 Larry's suggestion of focusing on certain parts during each maintenance wash is something I've subconsciously done with my car but didn't consider it part of the framing process. Like he explains, I don't like to set aside a whole day to do everything in one go. Instead I split these little details up until the car is framed.
Framing is something that I've always done without realising, being unable to justify the cost of professional paint correction and only recently getting my own polishing machine; I always got compliments on how clean my car looked even with swirly paint despite only actually washing it once every month or two. Reviving the tyres and plastic / rubber trim makes the biggest difference for the very low cost, in my opinion.
Its really useful for us weekend warriors and small side hustle detailers to see you guys struggle and have problems to over come; seeing you guys figure things out really helps us and our “spidey senses” when it comes to overcoming an issue

I feel so much better now, last year when my wife was gone for a week , I did a wheels off, every nook and cranny detail on her Nissan Leaf that is a 2013 model. I can remember hours and hours of decontamination in door jams, removing hard water. Literally worked everyday for a full 7 days. Buffing the rubber was absolutely a new one for me. I’ve sanded moldy rubber but this was just over the top. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ‘s for the production as well.
Detailing at a certain level becomes a skill not just a craft or a hobby, for me it's bordering on being a fine artist or a master craftsman, not everybody has the eye, the patience or the knowledge to do it to the highest level...great to watch.

Nice to see that I was actually framing my own cars for many years, but didn’t know it was called framing. That was taught to me by my brother , who at the time was cleaning his “new” 54 Buick.

Love the term 'framing'. I found years ago a denture brush works great for all the nooks and crannies. It's never 'missed' unless the customer sees it. Great job guys.

I really enjoy as well asearn from your videos. Being a car guy who does lots of different car types of car events, cleaning and detailing my cars is important to me. I learned from my dad when I was 11 on a big truck, 69 Pontiac Tempest, and other cars. It is therapeutic and fun. Keep up the great work.
Larry, I think this video was one of the best ones so far, very informative and interesting; also it’s always great to have Kevin around! 🤩 It’s always a pain to remove the bra - you can try to pull it up on the other way; pull it away of you rather than pulling it towards you (it helps to avoid the painful blisters on the fingers). 😊
What a great topic to cover! I've had several people tell me that they don't want to bother with a detail of their car now that it's got some visible defect (paint burn, rust spots, paint chips, etc).

Musto is such a cool dude. I loved his series on Drive. He knows his cars, especially muscle cars. And isn't afraid to put them to the test. You can tell he's friends with Farrah. Those guys are nut cases to a degree.
Interesting trick with the compound on the rubber. I discovered (by accident) a similar trick for dealing with the fine pin-stripe scratches on my Land Rover’s plastic trim along the A pillars and other exterior bits. Not deep, but very noticeable from going through the bush on the trails. Nothing was getting rid of them. On a whim, thought “why not?” and used a fine polish on them and it buffed them out perfectly. They looked brand new!
I have been watching Larry’s videos for like 3/4 years now and every video I am truly amazed by his amazing talent and how well he is at this. Ammo products are amazing too if people haven’t used it…. This stuff is better than any you can buy at a store. KEEP UP THE AWESOME COOL WORK BUDDY!!!

The attention to detail. In small areas like the paint being so thin. The thought process that you-all did to come to agreement to just go back too detail ( frame work). Was very smart. Just watching how difficult it was to treat the area's that found difficult. Great job actually AWESOME job.

Great job on that Porsche. Soon as a saw those halogen lights so close to the car I immediately thought that's whats heating up the panels and causing the polish to melt when applied to a hot surface.
Probably the most valuable episode, for me, for quite some time. The paint on my car(s) are usually destroyed with rust here and there to boot but alot can be accomplished with just an intensive detailed cleaning.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who’s ever tried using a tooth brush and polish on rubber trim. But I never thought about trimming the brushes. And polishing the glass I have done that too. I prefer after a wash, “framing” and THEN foam rubber clay bar alternative before heading into some sort of a polish or protection phase.
