As always, shooting a high quality and a perfect choice of locations. Austin thank you for sharing with us this great time. Shooting at 7'10 is splendid. Philippe
Truly enjoyable video, visited in 2011 and was very impressed, would have liked to be there during spring, maybe next year. NYMR put on a great show and thank you for capturing it.
Fine video Austin, good coverage of the gala. I think the upside to the overcast conditions meant there was more steam effects to be had, and that's always top of my list, along with good loco performances, which you also captured. Regards, Liam
A superb set of shots from Friday and Saturday Austin. The conditions over the weekend weren't the best but you still captured a fine set of shots. It was nice chatting with you on Saturday. Thanks for sharing - Cheers, Sam
Cheers Sam, good to meet you yesterday and overall I think we can be pleased that the weather wasn't all that bad, we just have to make the most of what we get.
Despite the weather not being at its best Austin, as expected, you've made a superb job of capturing this event. Do think I was capturing those Black 5's on the Central Wales Line a few weeks ago...The NYMR never fails to impress, with those wonderful gradients...Best wishes...Bob
You said it for me. Those Black Fives are the perfect steam loco, for looks, for sound and for doing the jobs asked from them B1s are lovely looking, which Black Fives are not, being somehow more bold 'n somehow more determined-looking. A year next August and I'll be Sixty. Can anyone tell me where 'driver experience' courses can be had on a Black Five?....
Thanks Bob, I know you love the NYMR as much as I do, you are always guaranteed a good display. The preservation scene would be a poorer place without the Black Five and of course 44871 and 45407 are off to Scotland next to play their part in GB7
Very true Stephen about the wonderful Black Fives. I'm not sure where you can be guaranteed a driving course on one, hopefully someone will come up with the answer
Looked to be a great Spring Gala Austin. Plenty of variety of Loco's too. The weather provided some excellent atmospheric shots....well done. very enjoyable.....Steve.
Thanks Steve, you know you are always going to get hard working locos at the NYMR, just a pity the weather didn't play ball...that'll be next weekend when I'm not there!
Fantastic Austin, the tender first shot with 75029 was magic with all that clag . A mixed bag weather wise for you and I hope Pam enjoyed the weekend away . Steve
Thanks Steve, funnily enough the two best shots for clag were with 75029, the other one was a bit too head on when I was expecting the K1. Pam didn't come with me on this trip, she spent Friday panicking that I'd fallen down an embankment because I couldn't get a phone signal so couldn't make contact till late on!
Great video with a wonderful selection of sights and sounds. Black Fives always put on a good show. 45379 has become a real favourite on my local line, the MHR.
Great presentation, Austin. You certainly have to get in there, in that dull weather, and you did. The beat goes on - even in dull weather, however, and ain't it grand! . . . . . Alan
Excellent video of the gala. Especially liked the shots at Esk Valley. It's a shame this year's gala is lacking a significant guest loco now that 4936 'Kinlet Hall' has been declared out of gauge and 5786 is stuck at the South Devon. Cameron
Nicely varied captured and edited Austin. Pity the weather didn't play ball tho! Spectacular scenery and plenty of grades to test the locos tho. Thanks for a very enjoyable video! Ken
The second is just before the Beck Hole bridge from a field next to the line and the second is at Esk Valley, just off the track from there to Grosmont.
As always, shooting a high quality and a perfect choice of locations. Austin thank you for sharing with us this great time. Shooting at 7'10 is splendid.

Merci pour votre type commente Philippe. Même si le ciel était gris, il était un deux agréables jours
Atmospheric and beautifully shot as always Austin with great sound too. Thanks,
Many thanks Geoff, glad you enjoyed the video
Truly enjoyable video, visited in 2011 and was very impressed, would have liked to be there during spring, maybe next year. NYMR put on a great show and thank you for capturing it.
Thank you. I think the NYMR has everything with wonderful scenery and gradients to test the locos. It's always worth a visit.
Fine video Austin, good coverage of the gala. I think the upside to the overcast conditions meant there was more steam effects to be had, and that's always top of my list, along with good loco performances, which you also captured. Regards, Liam
Thanks Liam, yes I agree about the conditions, definitely wouldn't have wanted too much heat

Another great video - the shots in the fog are particularly atmospheric!!
Thank you, the fog did add a certain something I'll admit!

As always another superb video Austin. Very enjoyable. Regards, Dave.
Many thanks for your comment Dave, much appreciated
Very nicely made - the video captures the atmosphere
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Thank you, it's true to say that both mainline and the preserved lines benefit from these wonderful machines
Great presentation, Austin. You certainly have to get in there, in that dull weather, and you did. The beat goes on - even in dull weather, however, and ain't it grand! . . . . . Alan
Thanks Alan, as you know we have to take whatever the weather is thrown at us and despite the often overcast skies it was an enjoyable two days.
Some great performances and great footage all round Austin. Thanks for sharing regards Andy
Thanks Andy, despite the conditions it was an enjoyable two days, good to see you on Saturday
nice coverage of the Gala Austin
Many thanks David, much appreciated
I think the mist added to the atmosphere, Austin. Looks like a good gala. The Jinty looked and sounded great on those gradients. Keith
Thanks Keith, I agree about the mist although it did get really bad after that shot of 45407 so I gave up for the day
great videos once again acw71000, you make it look so easy to get great looking videos
Thanks very much, I think the key is doing a fair bit of 'homework' and planning in advance of filming
Yeah, and a little added luck as well, by the way I have uploaded the pics of Scotland on my channel

Great clip I enjoyed watching thanks for sharing ..
Thanks for your kind comment
Some great clips here. Really enjoyed your video.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video
great video Austin got some great locations of the gala shame about the fog done really well with this really enjoyed
Thanks very much, quite luck really as the fog was towards the end of the day so I didn't miss too much
Nicely varied captured and edited Austin. Pity the weather didn't play ball tho! Spectacular scenery and plenty of grades to test the locos tho. Thanks for a very enjoyable video! Ken
Many thanks Ken, it's a great line for hard working locos amid wonderful scenery. True to form the best weather was when I was driving home!
Hi Austin, it was to meet you at Darholme - great shots . well done.
It should " it was good to meet you..." drrrrr
Indeed, good to meet you to, an enjoyable couple of hours we enjoyed before that fog came down
Lovely spring weather....
I suspect that the second weekend will have the fine spring weather....when I'm not there!
Favourite shot I think is Bittern climbing out of Grosmont. The sheep at 5:00 don't seem too perturbed.
Yes I was pleased with that one, I always feel it's best to try an capture an A4 in profile if possible. Seen it all those Yorkshire sheep!
video Great !
Merci beaucoup
brilliant !!
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed it
Thanks very much for your comments, much appreciated
What's the location of the 2nd-4th clips ? Are they line-side or from public access areas ?
The second is just before the Beck Hole bridge from a field next to the line and the second is at Esk Valley, just off the track from there to Grosmont.
Thanks - I'll have to try those next time I'm there. Cheers, Keith
