    not particularly impressed - it sounds like he's struggling and some of his phrases aren't clear. That gliss in the cadenza felt completely random too.

    40 hrs ling ling. nobody plays the concert like Joshua. Absolute outstanding....

    My girlfriend and I saw Josh perform this gorgeous concerto in Columbus, Ohio approximately 25 years ago. We were enthralled. I had never heard the piece before and when the symphony hit the last note the crowd exploded in applause. We were on our feet for quite a while where he finally cam out and asked the crowd to take our seats. He performed 2 additional encore of smaller pieces to thank and appease the crowd to end the evening. Along with seeing Itshak Perlman and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, this was the most entertaining evening of classical music in my life. I still listen to this piece quite often as it is so hauntingly beautiful.

    I heard Ginette Neveu, whom Sibelius praised as the greatest interpreter of this great work. She was killed in a plane crash in 1949.
