      @@thebangkokguide your are right. It is a renters market hehehe. I got my 28 sf condo for £170. £30 for the extras like broadband, electric and water. 5 to 10 minutes away from the bts station, and a couple of stops to my Thai school.
      I can't tell everyone where. I can say that this system will help you find a condo, cheaply near the bts line.
      For those that don't know, certain parts of the bts is where the city action is. It is the prime location. It's close to Asok, Victory Monument and siam square.

    Nice video, nice to see a fellow Canadian flourished there. I like how you actually recommended websites and apps, very practical. Me myself also looking to move there next year as well, but the only concern I have is looking for work there (I don't want to do the English teacher route), if you are not an english teacher, you should make a video about guide on how to find work there, like what sites do they used to search for jobs, etc. Not many youtubers made videos about this topic.

      @thebangkokguide  Год назад +3

      Cheers! Welcome. I teach at an international school normally, which is very different from the English teaching world. Pay rates and work environments at international schools are basically the same as western countries, but employment also requires full licensing in your home country. In terms of work, it depends on the position you want and the experience you have. Foreigners are restricted from doing many jobs to protect the Thai labour market, but I have friends who work in lots of different fields here. I will do a video on working in Thailand soon.

    Hi! Another great video. Thanks again. Just wondering if I don't need any bells and whistles, or a big space, and living a minimalist lifestyle and single with no family whatsoever, but like to live with more "privacy" ( living in a condo community usually means you're always surrounded by lots of people, and if it's in central metropolis, it's even more so) and close to MRT / rapid public transportation, is it possible to find a rental like that near Bangkok with USD300~ /m. Just need a simple/ basic place where I can cook my own healthy food, water, electricity, A/C, the usual suspects? Thank you.

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah you can. But the lower priced condos are often busier as they are more appealing to the local market. I'd recommend looking for low-rises. My current condo has become too crowded as well. Not a fan of crowds either. Cheers

Brutally long flights make it tough to wanna go though 😂 If you don’t mind heat, I’d recommend coming around March-April. Songkran, the Thai new year festival, is probably one of the funnest experiences I have ever had. I am a hungarian youtuber btw. If I make videos in my condo for hungarian viewers in hungarian language, about hungarian topics, and I am on a tourist visa for 3 months, is it ok? Or I need a work permit? Thank you very much!

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  Год назад +2

      Yeah you can find one, but it can be better to opt for an Airbnb on a monthly rental. You can also check Facebook marketplace for lease takeovers and shorter term rentals. These are fairly common but be a bit more cautious as scams are much more common in this space. Most agencies won’t do short term rentals as they won’t be able to collect their one month fee from the owners on such short leases. In terms of work permits, you should be totally fine. I’ve never heard of anyone having an issue with working online while on holiday. If your planning for three months a tourist visa plus a 30 day extension will cover you.
